Had the low top canvas version of mark bell's shoe by rebok, loved them, beat the hell out of them. They finally blew out tonight, clean rip on the inside of my right foot.
Should I buy two pairs of chucks or just purchase another pair of mark bell's shoe? I'm gonna look on rogue's website to see if they have any deals going on.

The Reeboks have a much wider toe box & in general, seemed to be suited towards an individual with a wider foot. The build quality is pretty good. If you remove the inserts, you can cut out a little distance from the floor. Build quality is night & day, with the Reeboks getting the nod. The stability area on the sole is not a gimmic & does provide much better stability in wide stance squats (as wide as having your feet underneath the catch bars of a rack) & moderate stance sumo deadlifts.
My experience with chucks involved using pliers to get them on & ripping out the tongue of the shoe of blowing out the sewing on the side of the shoe on the side next to the sole.
In case I wasn't clear, I've used both. I'll never buy chucks. The quality is horrible.Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

Chucks will always be the same "eh" kind of quality, mostly cause they're not upgrading them constantly for lifters like mark bell and reebok have been for their shoe. Found my size on Amazon, pulled the trigger on a pair of high top black leather ones. My titan titanium knee wraps just came in too, pretty stoked on them.

I love my Chucks, but I trashed them after three years of training in them. So, I went out to retail shoes store, found a generic brand of thin/fllat soled canvas "skater shoes" and they're still going strong, two years later. Chucks are great but I've gotten a lot of life out of cheaper shoes by just making sure that they're only on my feet when I'm squatting, dead-lifting, or doing OHP. I take them off and put my regular sole, athletic shoes back on if I'm benching in the same workout or vice versa. I'm benching I'm saying the OP doesn't do the same but it works for me. But, I imagine that I'll end up buying another pair of Chucks down the road as I do love them.

I started wearing Chucks in 2008 when I started lifting seriously. They never lasted long, but I didn't really expect them to. This time around I'm trying to keep an open mind--turns out a lot of stuff I learned and did for a long time was not right. When this pair gives out I'm going to try something designed for pl.

I'm wondering what kind of training people are doing that's destroying the Chucks so easily. I'm 280# and have basically had a pair my entire life, I think they're pretty damn tough for the price. I got some on sale for $20 at the mall a few months back and expect to compete in them in December. Maybe I'm just unfamiliar with more lifting specific shoes, but Chucks have and will continue to be sufficient for now.
Anyway, OP let us know how they work when they come in.Best Meet 12-2-17:

After wearing chucks for years, I bought a pair of those tr lites or whatever. Ended up returning them. They were comfortable, and had great grip. Wide toe box. But honestly, I just felt like a clown wearing them. In a sense that a $100 pair of shoes really aren't going to be the difference maker. So I returned them, found a $40 pair of flat sole converse (not chucks) and have been good ever since.

I bought a pair of the Reebok shoes and thought the build quality was garbage. Of course I was comparing the build quality against my Adidas Adipowers.

Well that's a 55-75 dollar pair of flats against a 180 dollar pair of elite weightlifting shoes lol but I see your point
They are a little flashy. I could probably hit the same numbers in chuck taylors, although on the reeboks they have that extra piece of rubber on the outer portion of the shoe, which gives some good grip for wide stance lifters like myself and others. I found the all black ones for cheap so we'll see how dumb I feel walking around in them. lol

Wrestling shoes here as well.
I'm still debating on grabbing a pair of Reebok Lite TR's, but the look and style is just not growing on me.Meet Results:

Grip was definitely a plus. I just remember getting them and wearing them to the gym and seeing two other guys wearing the same shoes ... and my gym is a small, 'real' gym. And I remember thinking to myself 'wtf am I doing'. Not to say that I'm better than them, bc I'm not. I just felt like another sheep in the fight. I returned them, bought a pair of converse somethings I've never seen before, and took my own path.

I have bought a pair of Reebok CrossFit Lite TRs or (TR 2.0s) for the last three meets I've done - and wear them interchangeably to train in since I'm fashionable as **** and like my colors to match. For $40 or less when they run their coupon codes on Outlet, you can't go wrong.
I tried one of the first pairs of production ones thanks to Mark sending them to my boss, and haven't looked back since.
If the rest of the input doesn't convince you, Nordstrom's has the new Converse for $30 + free shipping (no link, see Slickdeals). Only problem is now they've got a cushioned liner, YMMV.NOV || Ohio Chapter || Be more, have less.

Good Info!
This is some good information, thanks. You mentioned coupon codes for "Outlet", what does that mean? Is there a Reebok outlet store on line or something? (Small town problems here). I'm pretty loyal to Chucks but for $40 sale I would def. order some of these next time I need shoes. How does one get the coupon codes? Stupid question?
