Any real point in training hams?

Should I really? Not only does it have no real world application, they cannot be seen unless you strip to your briefs, unlike the quads or glutes.

You should work on hamstring as any other muscle , you may thing that they are useless but they are not they give your knee and lower leg proper function while running and walking and also they have big effect on your overall leg flexibility.
Weak hamstrings = bigger chance of knee injury on squat, deadlift etc.

Do not neglect any muscle on your body. The body really does work ALL together in so many real world activities and athletic activities. Neglecting a muscle is asking for injury because you will have an imbalance.

Of course you have to train them. If you don't your squat, deadlifts (of any kind) will be weak as hell. Not to mention the work they do for injury prevention and leg function.

    Yes 100% train them

And you may not see them, but they will add noticable inches to your legs

They are not useless, they are the drive behind you along with your glutes. They are more important than quads if your goal is power, pushing, and real world strength.

Keep in mind hamstrings are contributing factors and dynamic stabilizers to most lower body lifts, especially squat and dead lift, so you are training them if you're doing these exercises.
