I’m still kicking.

Been working from home since this pandemic stuff started happening.

Has anyone received any flack from their local Chipotle during this time? They have been flat out militant about their mask policies. Even to the point of ignoring medical reasons. They even blatantly been asking about people’s vaccination status (none of their freaking business!). The final straw for me was that idiotic lunch with drag queens. There are much better options for burritos and/or pseudo-Mexican food.

In other news I seem to be ramping up my total cardio effort somewhat gradually shifting from weight training all day. It will be interesting to see the metabolic changes as I get to 1k+ calories a day while keeping a pretty balanced profile from week to week. Naturally I'm going to the gym just a bit less but am trying to keep up my Defenders workout also. Weights are pretty fun when you're tanked from cardio.

Think I might be getting my benchmark to 11 total miles a day on the erg. I've let my primary metabolic conditioning go, but I was trying to train the rowing without getting a strength crutch from the pushups, or at least train to row from more neutral state.

I really do wonder though. In my experience, between the excessive cardio, isolations 3 times a day at the gym, or the metabolic conditioning from density training pushups, squats, situps, the density training seems to make the most out the calories you eat. They all do pretty good though, even if just doing one all day.

I haven't had Incline Press in my routine since 2016. Doing it with dumbbells because I spend less time at the gym to do other preoccupying upper body things.

Also. I watched The Sopranos for the first time since it ended. I rowed every episode, twice a day, starting with a 5 mile row that took up 3/4 of the episode. I got up to 6 miles an episode but then started trying to bust out one 10 mile row regularly at season 5 and just start'/stopped as I row. So I stopped watching two episodes a day with 7-15 minutes downtime, and just watched like 1.35 episodes at time.

I thought season 5 was the last, but apparently the last season was 21 freakin episodes split into two seasonal sections. Anyways I ramped up the distance for each row and my body adapts accordingly, as I've projected on the "losing fat" forum. You don't do cardio to burn more calories you do cardio to eat more calories.

It's a truly great show that has incredible social commentary and serves as a very unexpectedly precise premise for dysfunctionalism, fluidly from sheltered family affairs to urban misgivings.

All the events of the show of course come and go very quick when binge watching instead of watching week to week and year to year. Everything was pretty meaningful though and it was really interesting to see where the godfather of contemporary progressive liberalism comes from, having a much different understanding of things now than I did before when I first saw the show. I still love all the violence, and to be honest, saw Tony now as a heavily flawed protagonist instead of a guy holding everything around him together (though with obvious misgivings I wasn't inclined to judge). Carmella is as wonderful as I remember her, and she probably has the most interesting light-gray area position on television. AJ less I say the better. I'm happy to say that I understood the finale in all its stated intent, and even have a little better understanding of the little nuances shown now.

I jack up the Titan Fitness Bench to the 30 degree setting and adjust the j- cups and safety bars on the Rogue stand. I don't follow a plan of progression like on the standard Barbell Bench Press but bang out 2 sets to failure typically in the 8-12 rep range. On shoulder day I lead with barbell incline presses and follow a plan of progression, but with that exercise I adjust the Titan Bench to 75 degree angle and the safety bars go way up higher. J-cups not used.

Really yeah about the end. I thought I'd try to pay attention to when things start going downhill. As I remember from before, a lot of it centers around Carmine in New York, but it gets pretty twisted between the two.

I'm sure standard incline benches at the gym are around 45 degrees. No bother for me, I can handle the leveraging and still train upper chest.

That's like the opposite of me. I've done enough horizontal and vertical pressing lately in the past few years, though in half that time I've been feeling my front scapula drag behind a bit in the muscle padding.
