I use Reaper as well. Does everything the more expensive DAWs can do and I see no reason to install fancy looking bloatware for features I'll never use plus that's money you can invest in sound libraries. It's great that you've taught yourself all this stuff.
Been using Nikon for a long time. Still using the trusty old D800E but since I shoot with a dedicated pano setup 36mp is more than enough resolution for my needs. All the other bits and pieces including lighting gear for people and interiors are more important than the sensor. I figured I'd have a D850 already but it's still going so if it hangs on another year I'll get the next major release.
Spoiler!

Nice, yeah I think Reaper is a stud DAW. I ponied up and bought the full version, spent a bit on a few plugin packages and have yet to run into a situation where it wasn't enough. I'm only scratching the surface of it too, it's got more tricks to add.
That Nikon appears to shoot 1080p in 24 & 30 fps as well, so honestly it will probably work great for film. I've got a Canon SL2 & a Black Magic Cinema Camera 2.5K at the moment, the Canon is entry level but their color science and autofocus are amazing, plus the BMCC uses the EF mount glass. Wouldn't mind updating the Canon to a full frame to up my stills game, but at the moment I'm not sure if I wanna stay with DSLR or go mirrorless, plus everything is expensive as hell.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #56 ▪█─────█▪

That's a great setup Hish. I'm still on the fence with buying a Blackmagic or just hiring one with an f-mount adapter to use my existing lenses. Then there's the audio side of things. I've got a project in mind where I'll need extremely clear audio on location with multiple mics and that means getting one of those multitrack field recorders with decent battery life and then syncing it up with the video in post. You've got to wear so many different hats with this stuff and by the time you've got it figured out there's new technology available. I also want a decent 4K drone. That's a whole world I want to get into.
re: stills I think crop vs. full frame is less of a deal breaker than it used to be. Technology has improved to the point where higher ISO and longer exposures are fine with smaller sensors. The only area where you can't get around physics is being able to use fast wide pro glass as designed. What keeps me from jumping ship to mirrorless is battery life and I prefer an optical viewfinder in bright conditions. Plus my DSLR with a grip feels perfectly balanced with a 70-200 2.8 and that's not the case with a small mirrorless body but that's nitpicking.

Great to hear you're already planning a project and aware of the importance of audio. I roll with Tascam as my primary field recorders, I have a pair of DR-10Ls I use for lav mics I like them cause the battery life is amazing (single AAA for each and about 10 hours run time), they can do 2 track to give me a safety track, since they are field recorders I don't have to deal with the interference of signal like wireless lavs. You can't live monitor them is the only negative really, but being able to set the gain and then record dual tracks eliminates the need to live monitor in almost all cases I've found.
I then have a Tascam DR-60D, it's only got 2 inputs and not the best battery life but I rarely use both inputs and I have a battery block I can use with it via USB so it's not too much of an issue. I think the Zoom H6N is probably a better choice, but I got my 60D for a steal at the time so can't complain too much.
I honestly snagged the BMCC mainly because it used the same mounts and I found a ridiculous deal for one. Body, 480GB SSD, shoulder rig, and a juicebox battery for $600 USD was to hard to pass up. I think if I was just renting/hiring a camera though I wouldn't pick Blackmagic...I'd look into an Ursa or one of the higher end Canon bodies.
If you rent/hire a Nikon D5 you wouldn't need any adapters and it's a beast of a video shooter itself.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #56 ▪█─────█▪

ok im2 here's a small exercise to get you started. There are 27 tonalities, yet only 10 are used in positions of influence and persuasion. We all use them all the time, so they don't have to be learned from scratch. However, less than 1% of the population is so naturally gifted that they use them at the right times and in the right way to enhance emotional certainty with the subconscious mind. But it can be learned, and applied through practice.
Here's a sample video/soundboard of someone (the wolf) using them correctly, see if you can identify where each of the 10 is played out.
1. I care, I wanna know
2. Phrasing a declarative as a question
3. Justifier
4. scarcity
5. Absolute clarity
6. utter sincerity
7. reasonable man
8. implied obviousness
9. i feel your pain
10. hypothetical (money aside) tone

And what's great about it, is I can take any scumbag vagrant off the streets and have them earn a million dollars in upfront commissions and fees inside of 5 years. And much sooner if they have a good work ethic. As long as they're committed and passionate to learning advanced tonality and tertiary body language, and put in the necessary prospecting activity.
It should be beyond obvious that product knowledge, market knowledge, and words(scripts), have no recognizable variance between the failed (making the walk of shame), and the promised land. So that leaves us with simply: tonality, body language, and work ethic.
That's it.
And I guarantee the top level trial lawyers are masters as well.
Trying to influence a jury off the streets with only the spoken words and physical evidence to only attempt to convince the little the conscience mind using a logical case that probably goes over their head anyway, would be a train wreck

I like Tony Silver better than John Kreese. Not sure what it is. Miyagi fighting any headmaster adds a few points. The cliff scene where they pull the ropes up was a nice touch. The bonsai trees were great, but when she brings over Mac & Cheese and Daniel's like "I grew up on that ****," that's where it's at. Lol @ the scene where the Kai student just walks into Miyagi's backyard, immediately followed by Silver. Also, was it a point in the movie to not drink water while running lest you get a cramp?
