Romanians are a top tier exercise.
For anyone not competing in powerlifting, especially with more miles on the clock e.g. 40+, I'd be recommending RDLs and trap bar deadlifts. Barbell rows and shrugs will take care of the rest.
You want solid returns on the risks you're taking and for most people pulling a heavy barbell from the floor just isn't worth it unless you have impeccable form.

Now that I been eating so healthy with lots of fruits and vegetables and not downing 2000 cals every time I take a seat at the barstool, I started wondering if I was getting enough protein. So I was back in the market for protein shakes. It's amazing how the flavor has improved. Especially when using a one-man high-powered blender with ice.
Back in my day, swallowing a full "vanilla" protein jug with tooth floss before practice was a rite of passage.DR. 3time

2 scoops of unflavored WPI mixed in around a third of a glass of room temperature water for me. Straight down the hatch. No weird sweeteners or other crap. Just protein.
I stopped drinking milk nearly 6 years ago which is what I used to mix with protein powder. I miss it occasionally but still eat cheese and Icelandic yogurt (skyr). That yogurt is something I'd highly recommend to get extra protein in.

If the Green Bay Packers were run exclusively by Team Orlando Sr., there would be an immediate change at the Quarterback slot. Kid out of Penn St. would run the show for the next decade.
Few weeks into Arnold's Golden Six program. Come on. Let's get serious.
Great finish at the Red River.DR. 3time

Not easy but one of my better decisions. I wasn't a coffee drinker however so I get the social aspect of it making it even harder to give up for some people. I'd convinced myself I couldn't start the day or train without caffeine and I'd be hitting it into the early hours of the morning. I'm sure it has some health benefits and probably gives the metabolism a boost until you build up a tolerance but after 6 years without a single drop I have no plans to go back.
It depends on how you (ab)use it. I pushed it to the limit.

Then there's no reason to change anything. If it's jacking up your resting heart rate, elevating your core temperature enough for it to be an issue in a hotter climate as a heavier dude, compromising your sleep, making you more of a jerky, jittery person when communicating, palpitations, etc. then ease up.
It never seemed to interfere with my sleep most likely because I'd built up a tolerance but I do remember sweating through ball drenching summers back when I was hitting caffeine hard whereas the heat doesn't bother me at all now. I just feel more relaxed and can train just as hard and stay up as late as I need without it. I will admit caffeine and taurine together in energy drinks allowed me to hyperfocus on tasks better but then the effect is so short lived you're going to be redlining your heart if you needed it more than a few hours a day so I'm better off without it. Everyone I know leans on caffeine to get through the day and I've never tried to talk anyone out of it. Since it came up I figured I'd share my experience quitting it since it's not easy to do.
