Could have easily been 10/10 the author didn't have such a cuck fetish. After the NTR, I just couldn't get emotionally attached to cuck-kun or bitchzuki. I was more interested in all the side characters. Once I lost interest in the main couple, it honestly ruined the story for me.

If only the author chose to do anything other than NTR with the whole Kazuma arc, I would have easily called this a 10.

Still so fkin rustled at how such a great story was ruined by some tiny bullchit.

Someone rec me a finished manga to take my mind off this chit. Romance/drama but no NTR. I wouldn't mind if it was just like KNIM. It had amazing scenes and great plot, it was just blemished by the cuck MC and chitty girl.

Gotttt dang 91 Days was really good. The soundtrack, pacing, and art were all really good. The credit scene felt like some mafia movie. This anime came out of nowhere. Did not expect something like this for this season.

Kind of reminded me of Baccano.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko is a fun series to watch. Nothing special, but the animation is done by Shaft, so it is very high quality for the most part.

Srs has some good lulz/hnnnggss in it, but the storyline goes nowhere.

It's just as easy to cherry pick the other way, like if I compared a 2015 show (iM@SCG) to one of the old shows, among others, that I've been on/off watching from 1989 (Idol Densetsu Eriko). Same genre because it's only fair.

Generally, there are more key frames of animation in the average modern production than the average production in the past.

There's a whole load of trash from the 70s, 80s and 90s that goes unmentioned, just like any other era, and it gets forgotten. People then circlejerk about the same 30 shows that were outstanding and when they try to bring new people into the fold, that's all they know and it becomes the standard. A false standard.

The only time there's been a a real significant dip in animation quality was in the early 00s when studios moved to digital animation -- that was effectively hitting a reset switch. As far as animation standards go, outside of high budget OVAs and films, anime is in a pretty healthy state.

Im gonna have to disagree. You mention theres a lot of trash from those eras but theres still the same trash, the only difference is now we have more anime per season so there's more trash overall. So it's fair to think "a lot" of anime pre 00's have better animation than "a lot" of anime now days because while the % of trash has stayed the same the # of anime per year has increased. nom sayin?

I know you are always bringing up valid point of people cherry picking classics but damn there is so much garbage being pumped out of japan now (or still) lol

And just to be be clearer on my point in previous post, I think you could find a lot of good anime pre 00 and compare them to a lot of anime in recent years that look like chit. But I don't think ALL anime from back then was super amazing just as I don't think ALL anime today are super amazing either.
