You have no idea what 1 dimensional character means, look it up. I'm not talking about troupes either, have you ever written a story before? Doesn't seem like you have. Think about the planning. "We want to make the audience feel sad here, so let's shove an event that has no relevance to the plot". "Character needs a reason for this certain action, let's shove in a backstory from one of our lists." Shows like Kanbari are written with an idea in mind and then ideas shoved into make a character look "cool" and such with no regard for their character, with no regard for the plot. Don't bring up troupes again, I've watched anime long enough to know the difference between mediocre writting and planned troupes.

Examples, not even once. i'd refute your post point by point but i honestly cba. kabaneri is a garbage show, but not for the reasons you've mentioned.

let's examine ikoma. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...CharacterDepth - says that a 1 dimensional character is a character with 1 trait usually.

Ikoma likes his friends. ikoma wants to kill kabane/biba. ikoma is a good engineer and innovator. ikoma wants to save mumei, because he doesn't want to lose someone like his sister again. this isn't a 1 dimensional character, this is simply a typical shounen character.

Ikoma's goals: kill kabane, save mumei.

reasons for goals: kabane killed his sister.

kabane is literally the entire premise of the show, so i don't think it's fair to say they conjured the backstory just to motivate ikoma. more like they conjured ikoma to develop mumei, but w/e

Finished Flying Witch.

Solid SoL show with folklore and the supernatural. Felt so relaxed watching it, and was nice to see a show without fanservice for a change.

I dunno about you guys who are from the US but english voice actors in dubbed anime emphasize the vowels waaaaaaaaay too much. I know this is one of the main difference between British (or Aus) vs American accents but in dubbed anime it seems fkn retarded. Heeeeeeeeeeeyaaaaa duuuuuuuude, piiiiiiiiiiiiick uuuuuuuuuup theeeeeeeeeeee swoooooooooooooord <spoken by some weaboo who spends more time jerking off to merchandize than he does watching anime>. Oh we get the US versions over here but the vowel thing seems to be the american voice actors trying to make themselves clearer to people (slow ppl?). So, theres the usual difference between our accents and then an even greater difference when the english voice actors over pronounce everything. It really is annoying and kind of sounds like children's shows for 10 and under, like Sesame Street ... lol

This was his partner before he died.

He secretly works for Kanou (the doctor that made Kaneki a ghoul).

Yea I can definitely agree that most dubs are trash. Does anyone know if they bother changing the "mouth flaps" to fit the dubs in different languages or no? If not, that might be one of the reasons dubs sound off sometimes (because they're trying to match animation that was made for Japanese voice acting). Or maybe it varies from show to show.

Loool used to wake up at 6am to watch DBZ in Spanish as a kid. I had seen the entire Frieza saga in Spanish before toonami aired it.
