It's not libertarian at all. Bartenders shouldn't be forced to give service to people they don't like. This is not stating that bartenders can but rather that they must.
If a business wants to make less money then that's on them. There is no guarantee it will make them more money though as another customer may be disgusted that the bar serves pregnant women and would take his/her business elsewhere. But whether or not to serve should be the bar's decision to make

the regressive left at it again. "Humans rights law", apparently doesn't apply to the rights of a 3rd trimester child, or the moral imperatives that may be held by bartenders.
that isn't the point, pregnant woman can drink if THEY chose to. but this is now forcing bar owners/bartenders to SERVE them. entirely different ideas at play.
exactly. libertarianism is allowing the bartender/owner to chose how they operate the bar. not forcing them to serve everybody any anybody without regard.
what will be amazing, is when people start suing these bars for their kids Fetal Alcohol Syndrome therapy costs.Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door.

This isn't the military where you have to sacrifice all judgement and personal values and listen to your superiors like a robot. As a free people, we should be allowed to hold morals if we want to: not making cakes for gay people, not serving alcohol to pregnant women, etc. If you're a bartender that feels empathy for the baby, this really sucks. NYC is telling you to go against your morals and personally help harm babies, or find another job.

People in general are so weird about alcohol. Something with the fact you drink it, instead of smoke, snort, inject makes them think they aren't "doing drugs". Lol at thinking having a glass of wine while pregnant is ok.....your ingesting a psychoactive drug into your system, AND a neurotoxic one at that while pregnant, scumbags of peace.

What is the problem? If a woman wants to drink while preganant and damage her child, she will find a way to do it whether at a bar or not.
You can make decisions for other people, denying a pregnant woman alcohol at a bar means nothing because she can score it elsewhere. It is exactly the same as the 'war on drugs' policy which i'm sure most miscers are against.
This isnt feminism, its free choice.

I agree with you actually, an unborn child is a forced party and it is disgusting.
But this is nature. We can't stop bad parents. Denying a horrible future mother of a drink at a bar will in no way stop a person from harming an innocent child.
The only way to prevent such damage would be to illegalise preganant mothers drinking and make them criminally responsible for their actions. Ultimately however it would be unenforceable.

Seems safe to say we are talking about mothers who do not want to harm their children and are knowingly pregnant, seeing as child abuse is already illegal and this new law allows them to drink with child.
If thats the case, then I can't understand why a mother would choose to take any risk that would damage their newborn. Is it that hard to put down the glass, even though you already made a huge commitment to have a child? good lord.
Also who was a businesses right to refuse service? Not sure how much benefit there is in stopping citizens from discriminating against drunken pregnant women.. lol

Oh I see, yes that is a completely different scenario. If it is against ones morals to supply an abhorent mother with liquor to destroy an unborn child then I can see the arguement.
Apologies to Thekittenking, I can completely see your arguement and I agree. To be persecuted for doing what is right is clearly wrong.

Yes, I see the arguement now and understand the frustration.
I was (perhaps incorrectly) looking at it from the point of view of denying another human being something they want to do, not considering that of the party whom is legally forced into providing something which they know is harming an innocent and unborn child.
