kinda fun game tho i think ill get bored of it by the time open beta ends

the rounds are just too damn quick and most of the time its a steamroll one way or another

only care to play random heroes mode tho so idk if regular is any better

Sounds like the open beta is what release is going to be like.
My biggest issue with this game so far is people not understanding you dont need a 'main' character. Theres no leveling up abilities so switching from character to character to better suit the situation is the best course of action. More often than not when I lose with friends its because they refuse to change their character because theyre 'trying to get good' with them, regardless if they fit the battle.

Well I've played on both PC and PS4 until lvl 10, respectively.

The game is fun most of the time but I'm not sure there is enough there to keep me coming back. Coming from Battlefield, the game is soooooo slender. There are a lot of "unlocks" but really only the skins matter.

Maybe I need more friends to group with but Im not really sold.

I was hoping this as well, but I don't think it will be as big of an issue as some people are making it out to be..

because look at tf2, there's no class progression (there is weapon progression though), but tf2 has a ton of replay value and it's hard to get tired of playing it

Downloaded it last night and gave it a go for a few hours. I can definitely see where this could take off as an eSport, especially with Korea's affinity for Blizzard games.

Learning curve was reasonable on it, but I think I'd enjoy it if the pace were slowed a little bit. It's a CoD pace, where I prefer more of a Battlefield pace. That's just my opinion. Tons of fun regardless though.

It's an arena shooter, so it's not "CoD pace", it's more like Unreal Tournament and Quake and Team Fortress. They are faster paced than CoD.

Some of the comparisons people in this thread and in general are making about Overwatch to other games just makes me cringe... People comparing it to Battlefield, people comparing it to Paragon, people comparing it to Call of Duty or Halo... Jesus Christ people.

It never prompts or allows me to use my hammer to upgrade them, unless it's automatic?

You just hit then with ur hammer. 5 hits = upgrade

This game won't be a big Esports game. Blizzards Esports division is so bad and poorly managed.


It's also not super competitive.

Regardless it's a super fun casual game to play with some friends. plan to play a lot more tonight and probably purchase the game

played the demo on PS4. I can see how some people may like it, but the game is just too "busy". too much **** going on, don't really have the patience for it. and this is coming from someone who loved TF2.

TF2 also had a ton of **** going on, but it was easy to distinguish each class's ability. here, the art style is so strange that everything looks the same except for the giant bowser looking guy

game is worse than tf2. Spy + 2fort chits all over this game.

Going to get a refund (srs). This game is unfinished. They only have 2 game modes (ai and practice don't count), bunch of recycled capture the point maps, no 2fort, chitty ultimates that should be removed from the game because they take no skill and always get play of the game, and overall no polish.

TF2 was part of a fukking 5 game bundle for $60 when it came out. Half Life 2 Ep 1 + 2, TF2, and fukking portal were all $60. This piece of chit unfinished game is a full $60 and they're going to try and overcharge me out the ass in the future for stupid ass fukking skins.

Pretty much exactly how I feel. Given that Overwatch is coming out 9 years after the release of TF2, I expected quite a bit more.

Starcraft and then Starcraft II were one of, if not the biggest e-sports in the world until League/DOTA 2 became insanely popular... Hearthstone has a huge competitive scene that is doing well(considering the fact that it's a card game).

I've played 2 games so far in the beta and this game is dope.

As dope as this game is though it doesn't justify a $80 price point in Canada for consoles, chit is ridiculous.

Meh I ended up getting it for the sake of playing to kill some time. Cheaper on Amazon Prime. Overall fun game, but I can see it getting bored quickly if the beta is "what you see is what you get".

Hopefully other patches bring in more modes.

Bastion is just way to OP though. I keep getting rekt by him posted up in a corner and its very frustrating and Torbjorns turrets can be a little bit ridiculous at times if you don't take them out early on.

Bastion can be easily countered by Reaper. Just teleport behind him, couple of shots, dead.

You can't get behind him when he's posted up in a corner and a wall behind him. I think genji is a good counter with his blocking

Well, I for one am not impressed and I think many are just buying into the Blizzard hype.

First of all, after playing this, I can't help but to think how much more I enjoyed playing Tribes Ascend.

Secondly, the maps are too small which also leads to too few 1v1 encounters. Which is boring.

Thirdly, because there's only 1 point to defend and the maps are so streamlined.. There's too much spam and grinding going on. Mostly consist of the most boring parts of a fight. Also present in for example AV in WoW. When there's a big chaotic clash. One side is guarding, spamming their things at the entrance, and the attacking team has run in kamikaze style and hope they're not killed while spamming AoE attacks hoping to do as much damage as possible.

Not impressed at all, I was bored after a few hours.

i like the game but the hitboxes seem kinda random/ ****ed up or something.

first game i played.. i went 17-0... had a lot of fun...

next game i played.. i went like 2-18 and i felt like none of my bullets were registering... i feel like call of duty has had this problem for years with inconsistent hit boxes. I find that it takes a real ghood dedicated server to eliminate this problem. I probably wont buy the game unless they get some good dedicated servers because i hate this issue with the hitboxes.... its not fun when u are emptying a whole clip into your enemies body but the bullets arent really "hitting" because his hitbox is away from his character model.... =[

It's kinda hard to say its not super competitive when the game hasn't even released yet AND they are revamping ranked play.

It feels too casual. Was hoping for more class based advantages like TF2 which forced teamwork to overcome situations. Still had lots of fun playing but after the beta I think I'll pass.

I think it the base game comes down to 30 bucks I'll get it for PC. It will be fun to have a casual shooter to play in between rounds of Paragon and Battlefield.

After playing pretty much the entire day, I can easily say that Bastion is by a mile, best pub hero. Set up up in a choke point, back against the wall in case one of the 3 enemy Reapers is competent, and watch the sheep march into the grinder. Get yourself a second one and it's free xp.

That said, game is super fun. Skipped Doom, bought Overwatch, surprised at myself srs
