Actually its true about condoms and HPV. HPV is passed via skin-to-skin contact. Condoms don't cover the entire genital region so it possible to contract despite wearing a condom.

    HPV and men

Condoms are safe against bacterial infections (Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and Syphilis) they are pretty useless against viral infections such as Herpes and HPV. Besides HPV is nothing bad for guys, for women, they need to either take the vaccine when they are young or pap smears every 2 years.
Actually most people will get HPV at some point in their life... no biggie unless your a woman and the type of HPV strain you have is cancerous. Its scarry if you don't know much about these STDs. And actually most people recover from HPV after a few years, provided they lead a good, healthy lifestyle... Herpes is for life though.

    Google it up...

Condoms also protect well against HIV and AIDS.
The internet is a blessing...and sometimes a curse, for those that believe all they read as long as it ensures they can continue to ignore safe practices.
I am a registered nurse AND have had to give educational classes to youth in correctional facilities regarding STDs, as well as other issues. I have also seen what HPV does to both men and women. The risk of penile cancer is low, but real. Disfiguring growths in men is a very real risk, not to be downplayed. A growth across the urethra is a real problem. Spreading the infection from your genitals to your face accidentally is also a very real problem, especially when you consider your eyesight. Condoms reduce the risk of transmission. Nothing...NOTHING...gives 100% protection, ergo monogamy is very much encouraged. The CDC has some very good information for those needing more education regarding HPV: http://www.cdc.gov/std/hpv/STDFact-HPV-and-men.htm
True; the consequences of acquiring HPV can be a lot more devastating for women, but do you really want to p*** someone off by giving them something like this?

Lightbulb Hey guess what! I have herpies!

As I know a lot of people have NO idea what it's like to have herpies. In truth, it's really not that bad. And you DON'T have to be a sl** to get it. Many times people say they have been "tested" and are "clean".. but what they don't know is you have to ASK for the Herpies test and for the AIDS test. So most of the time, people actually DON'T know. That's sad. That's how I got it. My boyfriend of over two years didn't know he had it. Physical symptoms of it are much harsher in women. So men usually have no idea they have it. As for a woman that has it, she can have no outbreaks for years and live a perfectly normal life as long as she tells whoever she's going to do about what she's got. It's up to them to assume the risk and take whatever precautions they need.

So my advice to you all.. please, especially guys, go ASK your dr. for this test. Even if the test comes up negative it can be a false negative. Sometimes the only way to catch this is to be having an actual outbreak and have that particular owie swabbed. For those of you new to it, it gets better over time. Like way better. I had like, two outbreaks and then nothing for a whole year so far.

The world is not coming to an end. Relax people. Enjoy life. And make sure when you ask if someone has been tested.. that they were actually tested for Aids and Herpies as well.
    Quick! Say something witty!

98% of the population has some form of HPV haha. There are over 100 types of HPV. Have you ever had a wart on your elbow, finger, or knee as a kid? That is a form of HPV *giggle giggle*

Did you know you can have genital warts on your inner thigh? Condoms do not cover your thigh I was just at the OB/GYN 3 weeks ago and the doctor was telling me about everything. Gotta love those yearly exams! Haha..I swear she scares the heck out of me when I go there...Last time she said I was pregnant which was impossible..unless it was in the water

Don't be scared You probably have a form of hpv..just not one of the serious ones that cause genital warts/cervical cancer. During yearly exams we get tested for HPV (all females do) becaaaauuuse yearly exams are mainly checking for cervical cancer good luck in your journeys!

    p.s
I'm watching the news and some guy in my neighborhood just got busted for child pornography (kids under 10) wow..and a teacher had sexual acts with a little boy in my area. WOW...my small and quiet beach town is going to crap.

Do any STDs other than HIV/AIDS like Herpes or Genital Warts for example cause or contribute to muscle loss?
