Its only when I see posts like these, that I am thankful we don't have a dog right now. Hope whatever you decide that your little buddy is as comfortable as possible. Prayers for your pup.

Thanks! I test deadlifts this week It's much harder for me to keep a straight back on front squats, probably because I'm always a little rounded to get my elbows up
Thanks Luna, hugs to you
Thanks Jo, I didn't think about it at all this weekend, and started to research last night.
Yes, that's what the vet said, that it didn't bother them as much. I don't want it to be a financial decision, but it will likely be one. I just can't afford another $5-10K in cancer treatment after spending ~$4K 6 months ago, and to get what - maybe an additional 6 months to a year? Plus, I can't imagine Oscar wants to be fuked with, when all is said and done. BUT if I don't make a decision soon, one will be made for me.
Seriously. You've had a rough time lately too ((HUGS))
Weekend trip was good, I enjoyed as much as I could
Thanks Harry, yes being a pet owner can really suck sometimes
Thanks lady!

Bench was rough today. Back is a bit jacked from sleeping in four different beds since Friday. That's one of the issues with traveling, you never know how the bed is going to be, and then I got home and I feel like my back slowly got used to other beds, and now mine wasn't completely comfortable. No worries, I'll be better soon.

One of our destinations had a hotel with a fitness center so I thought I might do some accessories, but it was all cardio, no dumbbells. So I rested instead. I really did nothing, and ate and drank everything as documented on IG. Part of me wants to still be on vacation, but most of me feels out of sorts because my routine is off so I want to be back 100% and have life as normal. We still have reservations to go out of town the first weekend in November, but I think we're going to cancel. Mostly because we're just so busy, but I'm not sad because it's just another obstacle in my routine. I'm ballooned up on this trip too - I'm sure it's just bloat and water weight but I'm UNCOMFORTABLE. Feel fat and gross. Also, supposed to switch from old gym to new gym on November 1 and would only get 1-2 workouts in and then be gone for 5 days which isn't ideal. Maybe we can get away for a couple days. I really just want to get out of town and do some shopping before winter really hits, but maybe it would be more fun after Thanksgiving so I can do holiday shoppingLast edited by anandagirl; 10-26-2017 at 10:39 AM. Congrats on the bench PR.
Ab cramps suck balls. Hopefully it didn't go full cramp on you.

Thanks! It didn't, mostly because I didn't push it. It almost felt like I pulled an ab muscle but hindsight I was probably being a wimp and just cramping. Back to the routine. although I wish my routine was sleeping in, cuddling dogs, drinking wine and eating all the things.

I don't blame you...first time I ever had the start of an ab cramp was when I was deadlifting. It didn't go full cramp on me, but I was definitely concerned that I pulled something serious.
Okay, I'll swap wine for a bit of aerial...and that would be a perfect day for me
I don't get that...why it is always the same ab. For me it is left side, second row. Looks really freaky in the mirror when it cramps up. For me, I prefer to lay on my back, not move and try to figure out how to breath again. They hurt like a bastard...I can work thru leg cramps...but not ab cramps.Workout Log / Chat thread...Embrace the Dragon: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=169711903

Thanks! Ouch!
This was a first. It actually hurt all day and night too. Is this an excuse to get out of abs? LOL
I'm still not in my routine. I'm tired AF. I not only silenced my alarm for the gym, I also silenced my alarm for work and was late. I just wanted to cuddle the pups. I'm also letting a lot of things slide. Not meal planning, not packing my lunch, not taking my vitamins and supplements, generally not being disciplined. I'm going to change that today. Not sure if I will get to the gym today for squats since I missed my morning workout, but I did take my vitamins. Will be sure to take my creatine and glutamine tonight and work on planning meals for the next 10 days.Team Ogre Mascot

Yeah, the first is always the worse and I think the discomfort is very mental because you are really worried about if you did some serious damage. After you've dealt with your 10th ab cramp...you just wait for the pain to blow over and then go right back to what you were doing before...which is more abs. LOL
Hate being so out of sorts with the routine. I remember when just missing a day would throw off my entire week. Now with everything that is going on...I figure screw it. Some things are more important right now and need more focus. Still try to keep to the routine as best as I can, but I just don't beat myself up over it as much.
And meal planning...that for me is figuring out what my Red is willing to eat that day. Last couple days have been pretty good...which usually means that I don't get to eat what I was planning on eating because he ate it. Yeah you gotta jump back into the overall health routine ASAP! I try to think of everything healthy I do as earning bonus points for myself - taking my vitamins, running, each time I eat fruits and veggies, squat day, getting 8 hrs sleep. Try to hit as many of those little things as possible a day and you'll do very well for your health and fitness. Screw all that chit with trying to get likes on ******** or upvotes on reddit and put your effort towards something that really matters! If you have a bad day and don't hit any of those things, it's ok, start again and keep going. Try to hit as many bonus points as possible and you'll be far better off than most people out there.
Be aggressive and be relentless, you got dis chit man!Current PRs:

I'm off my routine also. Each week I tell myself "this week" and "this week" turns in to "next week." We'll get it together eventually. I hate when life gets in the way of taking care of yourself, but it seems to happen quite regularly.

I love the idea of a points system. I'd make it an actual "game" of sorts if I could stay consistent with tracking it. Not a game that would make you feel bad if you didn't get a lot of points, just collecting the points for fun, and if you get less some days you just try to beat it the next day. You're always starting fresh each day, no losing, all winning.

Hammy Ham pep talk!
Today is Friday, I WILL get to the gym, and work is a little slower today so I should have time to put together a meal plan and a shopping list and get that done tomorrow.
I'm rooting for us both xoxo

Met with the Vet in person yesterday. I'm at peace with my decision to not pursue further treatment and even have a little hope. Basically, we talked about what's been done and the options going forward. Funny enough, chemo for him (because he's so small) is only like $125 a month BUT melanoma doesn't really respond to any treatments, including the vaccine (wish I had that $2K back ) and all they do is buy you more time. She agreed that staging him or even putting him through surgery to get it removed was pretty much unnecessary at this point. She did warn that the location would likely continue to grow and start to impair his eating, maybe get chewed, bleed and get infected, so when that happens we might want to remove it, or at least reduce the size. She said it could metastasize into his brain, lymph nodes or bones, but sometimes these tumors don't metastasize at all and are just annoying and in the way. So the plan is, to spoil the crap out of him. He's still pretty healthy, active, eats great, hasn't lost an ounce. If he's still healthy enough to get hid teeth cleaned at his annual appointment in February, then we will remove whatever can be removed. If he stays healthy for another year, maybe that will be our annual thing. If he goes downhill, we will assess. It actually feels good to have a semi-plan in place, and I'm glad I still have time to enjoy his company. Especially during winter when we'll cuddle on the couch every nightTeam Ogre Mascot

Sounds like some promising news...especially when you can think about stuff as potentially being in terms of years. And after all, vets don't have a clue regarding what the outcome or longevity will be in all of these situations. Nobody knows. Hell my little guy is 6 weeks past the vet's expiration date for him and still going as strong as he was before he even went to that vet.Workout Log / Chat thread...Embrace the Dragon: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=169711903

Agreed 100%. I'm not counting on years, but I have a plan and a bit of hope and a shot of realism as well. That's the other reason I thought staging him was unnecessary. Sometimes you don't need to know, and even if you did know, you don't know because nobody knows for sure!

Sounds like you have a good plan
When Charlie was going through all his tests it was such a stressful time. Actually, when we found out that the options had run out and "all" we could do was spoil him and let him enjoy his life, it felt so much better. I guess the trick is, savour the times you have and you'll work with whatever happens, when it happens. Because, that is all any of us can do xx- Fallen Angel -

Truth. Sometimes it takes these moments to make us remember that nothing is certain and we do what we need to do.
Isn't that the truth?
Fingers crossed for sure.
I'm hopeful but will take it one day at a time. I feel fortunate to have so many answers and so much time, even if it's only a month. When you realize the time is limited (I think we often forget) then you take the time to enjoy itTeam Ogre Mascot
