So, can we just have a bucket list festival on top of your mountain. I'll bring the doggie treats!

I have a 16 and 15 years old, weenie and chihuahua. Our chihuahua had some issues a few months ago and we were ready to drive her 5 hours to a specialist to see if we could get a diagnosis. Luckily it resolved itself (she was walking funny but I think it was from a previous medication for her eye). We all in here love our fur babies. Glad to hear at least a moderately positive outlook on the whole situation.

Have you ever used bands? I know it's not lifting weights, but they are super cheap, you can take them anywhere, and you can get a good, decent workout in with them. Also, can you take your puppers walking? Didn't know if that was an option instead of being at the house all day. You could always get one of those baby carriers and go rucking (walking with weight, lol).
Life's journey is not about arriving at your grave in a perfect, well-preserved body, but, rather to slide in head-first yelling "Holy ****!!! What a Ride!!!!

Yes! Let's make it happen LOL

Dogs are family, and they don't live long enough whether they live 1 year or 20 years. My other dog is a 14 year old chi-dachs-terrier mix, and he's had melanoma for 2 years, can't hold his pee, but is still feisty running around in his diapers. I was worried he would have to see both his older sister pass as well as his younger brother, but I'm positive enough to think he'll still go first since I see at least a few more years with my younger boy. If the little chit lives to 17 I'll be stoked, and I really hope the beast can make it to 10.

I have some bands, but probably need to order more. The beast is back to walking shorter distances so we have been getting out the last few days, well other than the snow. It's a freaking snowglobe outside again right now I do think I need more cardio though and the beast didn't really run before so I won't make him run now. I think I am going to order that suspension trainer because it's like $36 and I am also on a trial with Aaptiv. I'm not sure if I am going to cancel it, but if I keep it, I found a coupon code so it's $49 for the year. I'm a little annoyed there's no rowing workouts since my crossfit type gym has assault bikes and rowing machines, but I did do a core workout yesterday that I feel today, so maybe those would make it worth it, since I skip core like 98% of the time.

Realized I wasn't that far behind in my workouts! We're headed out of town for a graduation, so I'll do squats and my upper accessory day Friday/Saturday. Abs got even more sore overnight so I might be doing this Aaptiv thing after all. I may be also be able to get a few bodyweight workouts in while we're traveling. And its snowing again LOL

Biopsy came back, margins were only at 3 mm, which apparently isn't enough. My vet wants me to see an oncologist, which means a 6-7 hour drive each way and a lot more money. I just don't see the point really. I mean, I'm cool with going to the oncologist, but the soonest I can get in isn't until June 17, first of all, so three weeks. Next, what can they even tell me? A CT scan is going to be about $1500 and that doesn't treat anything, it only tells us if there are other cancer cell colonies around his body. Which then means what? That he needs to lose his leg? Which I'm not going to do. Chemo, which we were going to do anyway? And then I can spend another $1500 to find out if it worked or not? I'm just not the kind of person who needs to know all of this detail, especially at the cost monetarily, time and quality of life. I'm sure he wants to spend his time hiking and cuddling, not sitting in a car or a vets office being fukked with. I guess if I were a better dog owner, I would have purchased dog insurance, but still, does he want to go through CT scans and chit? It's never a clear answer. I kind of envy those people who have a more definitive diagnosis and prognosis.

My thoughts are with you as you go through this tough time. I've been a pet owner most of my life and have suffered through their loss but fortunately, I've never been through your situation. I would think there is not a clear cut answer as to what to do. I've always said I wouldn't put one of mine through the chemo process, not because of the money, but because they have no idea what's going on. Then again, I say I wouldn't do it, but no one knows what they would do until they are in the situation. As you said though, I would think he would rather spend his time hiking and cuddling while he's able. You are the only one that truly knows your pet. Listen to the advice given by the professionals and make the decision that feels right for you. Whatever your decision, it will be made out of love.

Ugh sorry to hear about that update. Yeah seems like that step wouldn't really help the situation. Don't feel bad on the no pet insurance. The vet clinic I go to always tells me you would've likely spent close to those huge chunks of money when you add up all the premiums, and in general the insurance companies fight you on every little thing so all that crazy expensive stuff would actually not be covered anyway, some yes, but you'd still have a huge bill. It follows the pattern of people insurance I guess. :/

That's exactly why I haven't bought pet insurance in the past, just feel like any health insurance company would probably screw me over in the long run. I think we will at least go to the appointment to get their opinion and see all of the treatment options, but not do the scan. And to ask about the supplements people swear by to see if they think any of it would be helpful or at least not harmful.

I'm so sorry to hear that the news isn't more positive

To be honest, even with insurance you'd have difficult decisions about costs, because we did with Charlie. Whatever you decide, it'll be with the best intentions for the Beast. If it's worth anything, I'm pretty sure he'd rather go hiking and cuddling with his mum xx

Was feeling it. Big time. Realized my last lower body day was back on May 9 and I didn't even finish it Thank goodness Wade put my working weight lower than expected. And 6 rep deadlift sets are just mean. And I will never underestimate the help my sleeves and belt give me, mental or otherwise.

Had to deal with a couple d-bags in training LOL They must have been in high school. When I got there, they were maxing out box squats. I was trying not to pay too much attention to them but I really enjoyed the bicep curls during my third set of deadlifts. Plus the garage door was open and it was like 40 degrees outside but they had to remove their shirts (they were wearing them when I got there).

Anyway, was screwing around on youtube over the weekend and saw this series. Will post the first and last video, the last video has all the links to the other videos on my page. Even though some of the contests were pretty arbitrary and the sport you picked was probably based on natural ability and comfort, it did make me want to step up my game a bit because SPOILER ALERT, the powerlifter came in last

Sorry to hear about the puppers, it's a chit situation no matter how you look at it. I would probably be in the same boat as you. We would like to know, but not at the expense of really nothing being able to be done even if we knew, so why spend the money and time if it won't change the situation. Giving him love and cuddles is the best medicine now. Keep us updated and take care of yourself as well.

I tuckered out on this workout. After weeks and months of snowing and cold weather, the temperature shot up Thursday In addition to this, we got a new bed because the last one ch!t the bed haha no pun intended, however I was home all by myself. Yes, I could have waited until next week when hubby was here, but my back has been bothering me a lot more lately overnight and in the morning so I was really anxious to sleep on the new one. What does this mean? It meant I drug/pushed a king size mattress out of our bedroom and into the guest room (costco is coming to pick it up for a refund since it's only 3 years old and has completely collapsed) as well as the box springs under it (those yes, are much lighter). I then set up the new bed frame I bought for the new mattress, and finally drug the new mattress into the house, got it on the frame and took off all the packaging. RAWWWWRRRR! Anyway, I got through benching and then decided I was tired AF. Excuses, excuses.

No excuses for not completing my assistance.

I've still been a little b!tch about doing cardio. No excuses there either. However, I saw an IG ad for something called Fight Camp https://joinfightcamp.com. yes, I know, another gimmick. However, before hubby and I got married, I used to go to a boxing gym, and hubby went to a Muay Thai gym (which he loved). Then we moved here, and he no longer goes to the gym. There is a Jiu Jitsu community locally, but nobody Muay Thai classes but I'm really hoping he might be interested in this. Not just for the mental/physical health component for him, but also for me as a family can share the same equipment and membership. We already have gloves, so I would likely buy just their wraps for each of us and the sensors, and then we'd have to get a heavy bag (but I'm not buying theirs). We'll see, he probably won't be interested at all but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    We're making memories

I've been depressed AF for the last week or so. I think I may need to start talking to someone. I saw this posted on ********, and it's 100% me. I'm not getting up in the mornings, not even getting to work on time most days and certainly not training in the am. Not eating right, exercising or even just watching my favorite TV shows. Irritated all the time, and honestly don't want to see anyone, which does not motivate me to work out after work because there will likely be people at the gym. And I'm sad and/or angry most of the time. I need to get into a better headspace.

I'm sorry you feel this way, ananda. I relate hardcore lately--being injured has thrown me into a serious depression and that list looks very familiar (except for the alarm thing. I have sleeplessness and waking up early but still being tired instead, it's great). I hope you can give yourself a break and sort things out.
