Oh man, I am sorry to hear that your ankle is actually messed up. The way you said it in your original post, I didn't think it was a serious injury. Heal up, and sorry to make light of it. I thought it was no big deal.
Your Panthers played well last night, so you have that going for you.
Great way to work around your injury and get some good work in anyway.

Right you are my friend. And I'm getting used to that for the last month and a half. Hopefully I'm back to regular strength soon.
Thanks brother. Yeah, I think I just hyperextended every ligament in my right foot. It is on the mend though so that's good. Yeah, seeing the boys take the field last night felt damned good. I agree, they did play well. The defense looked good and I was pumped to see McCaffrey playing well. I like that guy a lot. He's dynamic and smart too. Looking forward to seeing how he can help the offense.All-Time PR's and Info:

Oh man, I pop back in to see bum ankle! At least it seems to be mend now. Great job still getting in there and working around it. Injuries suck and unfortunately the older we get a more a part of the game they become.
I'll be scrolling back through your log some more over the weekend. Can't wait to read what kind of Metcon craziness I have missed over the months."Never Give Up. Great Things Take Time."

My friend, it's so good to see you back! I know I've said it 3 times now, but it's worth repeating! Yeah, this last month or so has been straight up terrible for my training. If you want to see some good work, go back to June. We went on vacation the last week of June and I was killing it up until then. After vacation I hurt my knee on the first week back so I haven't done squats/deads in over a month. Right when that started feeling better I got Ebola from my daughter and then injured my ankle last weekend. As of right now, I'm hoping to start doing legs again next week.

Paused CGBP
5(10x135)
(Superset with) DB Hammer Curls
10x40 lb
Landmine Rows
5(10x45)
(Superset with) One Arm DB Bench Press, Alternating
5(10x40 lb)
Time: 18:25
Accessory
4 Rounds:
8 High Pulls, 95 lbs
8 Barbell Rollouts
12 Push-ups on the Barbell
Time: 7:00
Conditioning: Metcon
"20 Pieces of Angie"
20 Rounds for Time of:
5 Pull-ups
5 Push-ups
5 Sit-ups
5 Squats
Time: 17:35
Comments: Trying to get this one in while my daughter is asleep and my wife is running errands. We shall see...
CGBP/Hammers: These were tough sets. The pauses really added to the difficulty of the CGBP. The hammers just kept the arms burning. Almost no break between sets.
Landmines/One-Arm DBBP: Zero rest between these sets. Not too hard. The DB Bench was the toughest. Alternating like that made it really tough.
Accessory: This was actually pretty tough. Basically your hands never left the barbell and one movement led straight into the next. Definitely sweating now.
Metcon: This is an old one that I got from the bodyweight metcon pdf that Jaysun sent to me a couple of years ago. It isn't really that bad. The hardest part is definitely moving between stations so often. That was the first time I've done any squats in over a month and I had no pain whatsoever, so that's promising.
Well, this week is going to be crazy at work. I'm supposed to be leaving early tomorrow morning to go to the final round of the PGA Championship and then have to work in Charlotte for 3 days after that. I may try to get a hotel room metcon in, but probably won't lift until I get home. I'm going to skip squats and deads again this week to give my ankle more time to heal. Hopefully I'll be ready to go in another week. Have a great day folks!All-Time PR's and Info:

WOW, some streak of crap you have had since vaca man. I will certainly go back and take a look at your run leading up to June. Sounds like a good read.
Rest that ankle. Best advice i can give. Although it looks like you got some decent work in today and painless squatting is certainly a good sign. Were they body weight squats or did you use some weight?
Enjoy the PGA! That is a great way to spend a Sunday and you'll even get a little cardio in while doing so"Never Give Up. Great Things Take Time."

Yes sir. This has been a streak that I would prefer to forget... It's funny. Both injuries happened while doing high-risk activities like, jumping rope and playing golf... It was a heck of a run leading up to vacation though. I never posted my "after" photo as I don't really train for aesthetics, but I was looking fairly ripped (for me).

Thanks Ham!
Thanks man. This one reminded me of one that Shawn (raynerd) or Greg (Ptreyes) would do. Lots of supersets. I'll definitely watch my step!
Nice, man! That's where we used to vacation when I was growing up. Lots of great memories... You should have stopped in and gotten your sweat on!
Thanks Andrew! Yeah, I've been digging the 5x10 or 8. Definitely challenging. The metcon was fun too.All-Time PR's and Info:

Comments: In the hotel for this one. I'm pretty beat too from three very long and hot days. The golf tournament was fun, but it was a long day with several miles of walking in the heat and several beers alternated with bottle of water. One of the guys we went with ended up in the hospital due to heat-related illness. That wasn't the ideal lead up to two long days of hard labor in the heat...
DB Military Press/Curls/Ball Crunches: This was a good superset. The hotel fitness room was slammed so it was good to get that done so quickly and get out of there.
Pull-ups/Diamond Push-ups: Did these on my doorway pull-up bar and push-ups on the floor. My arms were already smoked from the last two days and the quick beating in the fitness room. Still plowed through and got 'em done.
I pretty much mixed my accessory work in with the heavy sets and just stepped on the gas. I've done lots of manual labor at work the last two days. We were building studded walls out on the top floor of the parking garage and then lifting them up and over onto the terrace. Not to mention carrying all of that equipment up and down the steps. OK, time to jump in the shower and go meet a client for dinner. I'll catch up in everyone's journals soon.All-Time PR's and Info:

Yikes, sorry to hear about the way your trip to PGA ended. Hopefully he is doing much better.
Nice to see you still getting it done in the hotel. I have always been amazed by you ability to workout after "working out" all day. Blows my mind. Hopefully theres a big steak on the menu."Never Give Up. Great Things Take Time."

Thanks RT. Yeah, we walked up a flight of steps and he just sat down in a chair and said, "I'll catch up with y'all in a minute." That's not something you usually hear from a thirty year old... The other two guys didn't think much of it, but I went back and brought him a few bottles of water. Then myself and one of the staff members took him to the medical trailer and got him checked out. He downed some water and Gatorade and I think they gave him an IV. After that he was good for the rest of the day, but ended up going to the hospital that night. I'm assuming he is doing OK now. I don't know him that well so I haven't really heard. The heat can be downright dangerous if you aren't acclimated to it.
Thanks Chris. These last two days were fairly rough, but not so taxing that I couldn't workout this afternoon. Plus I got a rare nap in before the workout, so that helped. What we do is more general labor sort've work, so it is taxing, but it isn't usually intense work all day long. That makes it a little easier to recover from.All-Time PR's and Info:
