^^Cards werent targeting Garnett. They have Iupati and just gave a fat 1 year deal to Mathis.
When SF jumped ahead of AZ, I 100% thought they were taking Mackensie Alexander or Jarran Reed
Buckner is a monster. Id take him over Bosa everytime. A+ pick
Joshua Garnett....its not a bad pick. Hes a mauler G. The problem is what was given up to move back into the 1st to get him. Absolutely no way was anyone about to steal him. SF couldve sat fine and he wouldve been there tomorrow. Very strange.

This. Guess we'll see what Chip can do with him. Maybe fighting for his job will bring out the best in him but at this point I have my doubts
As for Garnett pick it's only a bad trade if he doesn't work out. I remember my pats fan friends losing their chit when they drafted Logan Mankins in the first round...turned out ok.
Sure would've been better if they stayed put and got him in the 2nd but they obviously really liked him so it makes sense to go get him. And now we certainly improved the trenches with the first two picks. Plus by taking him in the first round we get the ability to use the 5th year option on him. If he turns out to be a stud at guard that's a great move and certainly worth a 4th and 6th rounder.
Don't give a fuk about the draft grades but obviously people will trash this move.Last edited by iamgenus; 04-29-2016 at 04:53 AM.

we have a long time to wait for our next pick
Looking at the trade value chart I don't see us moving up anytime soon unless we throw in a player. But with that said there still some nice talent on the board. Looking at guys that can come in from day 1 and make an impact:
Jack - heck if he gives us 4 years then so be it. If you are looking at him you have to consider Jaylon though
Billings - Can rotate in right away. Ian is always injured.
Ragland - Great 2nd round value
Then you got guys who probably need a year of development work (mostly OLB pass rushers)
Spence
Ogbah
Calhoun
Correa
Jaylon Smith - I'd wait till the 3rd for sure.
Guys I wouldn't mind
M. Alexander - dude is a good corner. Look at the Bama tape, once he left the game Clemson collapsed
Spriggs - would compete with Brown
N. Martin - would compete with Kilgore/Martin
K. Dixon -LOL @ people who follow politics

There are a ton of guys I'd love to have on this team, you hit on a lot of them above.
Just don't even want to mention any at this point since we're so far away. I'm actually heading out tonight for my mother in law's bday thing but will certainly keep an eye on how we're doing. Going to a casino so wish me luck bros....
So many ways we can go with that 3rd rounder and of course it's possible we try to trade up into bottom 2nd.
One of those pass rushers would be great but I think we'll see a run on them soon. My boy Ngakoue would be another good one to look at in 3rd/4th rounds but I think his arms are too short for Baalke to take him
Then again I'd be curious to see what our guys can do with this extra beef on the DL. Tank lost weight and Harold put some on. Hopefully both guys step up because we need someone on the other side of Lynch.
Dak Prescott would be tempting in the 3rd round but I'd almost rather pass on QB this year and look at one next year in Watson or Luke Falk(i think Falk is more likely to be there for us)

Yeah if AD wasn't a lazy psycho ******* and just unretired and came in saying he wants to prove himself again we'd be in pretty good shape.
Staley, Beadles, Kilgore, Garnett, Davis would be a pretty darn good OL. 100 times better than last year. But really Kelly's offense relies an awful lot on guard play which is why Garnett was the choice. Last year Philly's guards weren't as good as the prior two seasons and that offense struggled running the ball as a result.
Of course we're also staring at a lot of unproven WRs so I'm sure we'll be targeting one sooner rather than later.
Would absolutely LOVE if Sterling Shepard could be there in the 3rd round but I'm guessing he gets snapped up shortly after round 2 starts.

It appears Bruce Miller is practicing with the tight ends. Glad to hear they are finding a place for him. He is a good player. He can block well and he does have decent hands.

Nah but we drafted a corner in the 4th who has fuked up many times both with drugs and academics. Talented but dumb as fuk. They're trying to see if they can get another guy who cleans up...i wouldn't count on it. My least favorite pick of ours but I'd love for him to prove me wrong.
Seems like we're basically saying this draft sucks as far as skill players so we're beefing up the trenches and adding size/athletic ability to the secondary and putting Acker, Reaser and others on blast. Guess we're content with Gabbert and Kap for this year and likely will look at QB in 2017.
