DJ is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league if not THE best shooter in the league, he hasn't missed all season and has a record setting 100% from 3.

I'd go so far as to put him in the same ballpark as Andrew Bogut.

Bro nobody means passing when they say ball handling. I've never once in my life heard someone refer to passing when they say ball handling. Those are separate skills.

How they got there does matter in context of judging ball handling skills. If someone gets there through athleticism versus someone getting there through their handles, the latter is actually reflective of ball handling while the former is reflective of their athleticism. Can't you see that there's a distinction there?

gonna repost this you so you can't just pretend that you weren't destroyed:

    brb efg
    brb TS
    brb both percentages
    brb assisted %'s
    brb another percentage

lol at this guy's argument being reddick is a better shooter because he has a 2% point advantage while taking half the attempts and creating 0 shots (because you are an idiot, I will point out that this is slight hyperbole) for himself.
DJ leads in EFG. Interpret it how you will. You said that curry leads there, and he in fact does not. thanks for at least admitting Redick has a higher percentage

Absolutely agree that it is two different play styles. That doesn't change the fact that JJ's drop more often than Steph's. Even looking at the small sample size you provided (49 vs 46). If I had to choose one guy to take one shot, I'm taking JJ. That would be very different if we're talking building around someone. Of course I'd choose Steph

but you are stating your scenario in a vacuum. ie you can't rely on one of the best play-makers in NBA history (chris paul) to set up a shot for you. curry hits 3's in a variety of ways and can create his own shot.

this is huge when talking about your vacuum scenario. something that you think is 'extraneous'

Not when the question is who has a higher 3 point percentage. What you've supplied are reasons why. The fact remains JJ has a higher percentage. By that posters number on similar shooting situations (catch and shoot or one dribble) JJ has a higher percentage

right and curry leads reddick in TS (as well as the NBA) and efg (as well as all guards). DJ is irrelevant to the discussion because he gets the majority of his points at the rim rather than from range. DJ is not a shooter. i repeat, DJ is not a shooter

Yes, but he does not lead him in 3 point percentage. I'm not sure what the argument is here...

    lol at this dude malfunctioning

no, the question is actually not who has a higher 3 pt %. the question is who is a better shooter. you have (incorrectly) associated the 2 as meaning the same thing.

this dude actually thinks he holds the trump card in this situation with 3 pt %.

Again, how are you measuring that he's better than everyone else at shooting? What shooting categories does he have the highest percentage in?

i dont even agree with your points and think youre just playing a pseduo devils advocate stance in this thread, but 3 point % alone isnt enough.

FWIW: JJs shooting 48.2% on uncontested looks ~4.3 shots per game, Stephs at 47.6% on ~ 7.8shots per game (shot type gonna be a lot similar than contested 3s.)

How can you not agree that JJ is shooting a higher % from three? That's not an opinion. Your own numbers just stated that again when comparing similar shot types

    Because JJ looks better?

Steph Curry is the best all around shooter in the NBA But I'd still pick Redick to shoot a 3 over him and Deandre Jordan to finish in the paint
