Nobody is saying trade Seager for anything. He's untouchable brah.
Urias in a package for Fernandez could be feasible. Urias will still be maturing while Kershaw is still hitting that prime, while Fernandez gives us a chance to maximize Kershaw's best years and really compete.
However FO doesn't care about Kershaws prime. It won't happen. They're a bunch of ******* twinks.

They're basically right. 6 years of a future MVP caliber player is not going anywhere unless Sale or Goldy or someone on another friendly contract is going the other way
I still don't think Loria makes that trade without big leaguers going the other way honestly. If it was with Boston, it'd have to be Betts or Bogaerts. If it was with Toronto, it'd have to be Stroman and others. If it was the Dodgers, I really can't see it happening for prospects, even a top one like Urias. At least if he doesn't keep dominating until the deadline***Canadian Crew***

Brah Stroman ain't headlining a deal for anyone like Jose anytime soon.
But you're right. And more than that, Miami probably doesn't want a ton of pitching prospects in return. Pitching prospects are really difficult to project and routinely drop off. It'd be one thing to take, say, Moncada. It's another to take JDL or even Urias.Panthers/Tar Heels/Hurricanes/Durham Bulls

Cubs could put Teheran in the bullpen as well as the the Rangers. Probably some better relievers available. But you cant trust Teheran vs left handed hitters. Just a completely different pitcher. Considering Teheran BABIP vs lefties is about 100 points below its norm right now, almost below .200. Its just a very poor investment.

Assuming Stroman returns to form. Right now he's somehow the 5th best starter we have when he was supposed to be the best. Disappointing to say the least. Needs to start throwing his 4 seamer, I don't understand why he stopped throwing 1 of his 3 plus pitches, AL East hitters are way too good to get fooled 3 times a game by some guy that can't throw anything sinkers and sliders low, they just sit hanging slider or sinker that doesn't sink until he makes a mistake because he can't throw anything else up in the zone (which used to be where his 4 seamer lived). He's gotta get it together if this team wants to go anywhere
I doubt they trade him anyways. Stanton is showing signs of playing like himself again, if he gets hot, he can carry that team to the playoffs. Trading your ace when competitive for the division has never really worked out has it? Chen needs to figure it out tho, dude has been hot garbage which is weird since I would have expected him to go from good in the best offensive division to great in the worst one.
By Teheran you mean Julio right? Why would you put him in the bullpen? He'd be a better starter than anyone but Arrieta and Lester with the Cubs defense behind him***Canadian Crew***

Mel is the only person so far who actually responded appropriately to that post and not like an autistic *******. Thank you Mel, I was about to have an aneurysm.
Now if only we could do something about this nonsense below you'd be perfect boo....

Health gods willing a Kershaw/Fernandez 1-2 dominating for years on the Dodgers would have me forget about Urias. Kenta being #3 in the post season would put us in a better position than previous years.
I'd trade anyone except Seager for Jose srs.
I can just see how exciting Dodger baseball would be again if Friedman had any sack. But I doubt it happens anytime soon.
Can't be wasting Kershaw's historic seasons by throwing out Fukin Kazmir behind him.Look, i know i don't really know you and all, and i know you probably hear this like everyday, but your just so perfect to me. No actually he wouldnt. Maybe he would push Hammel? Certainly would get hammered in Wrigley during the summer. You seriously need to look at his numbers vs left handed batters over his entire career. Teheran is flat out one of the best pitchers in baseball vs right handed hitters. However you then look at how he fairs against lefties. His K to BB vs righties is 10k over 9 with under a walk per 9. Then you look at it vs left handed hitters. It plummets to barely 6 and his walks over 9 are pushing 4. He has walked 10 percent of the left handed hitters he has faced, to just 2 percent of right handed hitters. This isnt just this year. Last season his BABIP vs left handed hitters was .301. The year prior about .270. This year it is .182 This is why his FIP and xFIP vs lefties is around 5.50. This will normalize... it always does. Overall Julios FIP is about 4. He is flat out pitching above his head, and any manager in their right mind should sit every right handed hitter and stack lefties. Cause he does not have the stuff to get left handed batters out. To dumb it down left handed hitters in Julios career have hit a triple slash of .262/.333/.452. In 2015 lefties hit .297 .387 .507 The BABIP is going to normalize, unless he continues to live on a prayer. Any team giving up a top prospect for him is out of their damn minds.

The money that got spent on Moncada, I dont think it happens... Benintendi, Espinoza, Devers... ya gets it done. Not sure Swihart has a ton of value right now. Anyway, Dumbrowski is notorious for blowing up franchises... so who knows. Damn shame Dumbrowski is getting all the credit for Ben Cherington's marvelous long term outlook.

Just a disclaimer
Mel has been married to this "Julio can't get lefties out" argument since early in Spring. Harper homered off Julio in the first inning of the season and Mel was just giddy with excitement back then. Julio has since come in and posted a .189 avg against lefties to date this year.
The argument used to be his BABIP was too high and it wouldn't be sustained. NOW his BABIP is lower and the argument is "well his career BABIP is higher so this is now a fluke and he'll regress".
What Mel fails to realize and incorporate in all of his calculations is the human element of making adjustments. Let's rewind to 2013 Spring. According to Mel, Jake Arrieta can't left handed or right handed hitters out based on his 2012 and early track record. He's a bum and the Cubs traded for a number 5 guy at best.
Take it from someone who watches every one of Julio's starts. He's got a wicked breaking ball carving up left handed hitters this season. It's very obvious he was aware of his struggles last year and spent time working on pitches to get back to the competitive level he's accustomed to.
You see, that's why Mel's sabermetrics will always fail him. He's too busy crunching numbers to be able to look at a player and see how he's developing and changing. Yes Mel, players CHANGE. Your formulas will never capture it and it's why Julio is making you eat your words in 2016 something hard.
The more you fight it the more comments that will be shoveled down your throat in the end. Mel simply refuses to own up to this one no matter the massive amounts of compelling evidence that is slowly building up against him.
So pay no mind to him on this topic any more. It's just a man drowning on his own that refuses to admit he can't swim and grab the life preserver.
The bright side (at least for me) is the Braves will not trade him unless it's a ridiculous package so regardless on whether you believe me or Mel the undeniable certainty here is that truth. As I said above I don't want him to be traded at all. Even a monster package isn't worth it because it delays how soon they can compete again. This team can compete in 2017 if they keep Julio, just like they promised. Hopefully they stick to that promise and don't sell out and change course for 2019.
That's what this boils down to as a Braves fan."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. bro I just listed his BABIP as the soul reason for this "avg against lefties." He has done nothing different vs them this year. Same amount of walks to k's, same gb%. Nothing has changed except the balls have been hit directly at someone.
Also I do not remember making the Arrieta statement? However any pitcher getting out of baltimore's organization is better off.Hunter Pence is a bitch crew

You didn't make the Arrieta statement. It was a hypothetical. Mel 2013 version on a pitcher who is clearly a different pitcher but youre too stuck on numbers to realize pitchers develop over time.
Julio Teheran is very much doing different things and the numbers reflect that."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable.
