Think about it brah, as an example you can have Tim Beckham lead off and have Mallex Smith bat 9th as a DH. Rays vs Red Sox top of 3rd 2 outs full count, Price vs Smith. Pitch to the outside, Price walks Smith. Next at bat, Beckham. Beckham bunts Hanigan ain't going to get the ball. Man on 1st and 2nd. Two outs. Forysthe up next, he pops up. But you get the idea.

Why on Earth would they DH Smith? A lot of his value is wrapped in defense.

I mean you got Dickerson, bro. But they could just put Dickerson as the DH, I guess. Either way I'm excited about this team, mane. They were unlucky when Kiermaier got hurt but when they are healthy they make some noise. As for Forysthe back in July he struck out twice, walked and had a single against Price.

Dodgers trade JDL for a rental.

We weren't a second baseman away from the WS, we were a fukin Ace away who could actually put up zeroes in the playoffs unlike Kershaw most of the time.

JDL was a good trade piece for a Quintana.

Cubs had three stud Aces. Hendricks looked like a damn MVP against us. We had 1 and half. Sometimes just half of one depending on what Kershaw showed up.

Quintana would have made us much better for JDL + others.

My thinking is always centered on the post season. I have watched this team lose for YEARS. And it always comes back to either a Kershaw self destruction, lack of a REAL third starter, or a bullpen that sucks. Sometimes all of the above.

In those years, I have never thought "Man, if we had a better 2nd baseman we could have gotten a ring".

Aces and a shutdown bullpen gets you rings. Hard to beat a team you can't hit off of.

Starting pitching really didn't seem to be the problem this past year for the Dodgers. It was the middle relief that got destroyed. If Blanton and Baez don't **** the bed, they probably beat the Cubs last year.
