I finally got a job interview that was going to pay $28 an hour, highest salaried job I ever interviewed for. It was for a production accountant role at DisneyToon studio. The place where all the Disney Channel movies, straight to DVD movies are made. This is the place where all your fav 90s Disney Channel cartoons like DuckTales were made.
But ya I really wanna be a production accountant now, it sounds more interesting than your typical accounting job. They said I would be able to work with producers of the show to oversee their budget for shows. And it be a chance to meet some interesting people who make cartoons for Disney Channel. And get into the movie / entertainment industry. Also the office is smaller so feels more relaxed than some other parts of Disney's corporate office, but still is very nice. I talked to some random dude in the parking lot about if hoverboards were allowed, and he said this office is very chill, more relaxed than other parts of Disney. There are alot of those chill nerdy guys who are making cartoons all day, and most of them seem chill.
But besides that $28 is the most I've ever seen for a job interview. So it was a bonus that it was Disney and that it is paying alot, but it's a temp position. Besides the money, I am sure there are plenty of perks, like free Disneyland, free movie screenings, free merch, etc. Plus they had a snack bar which was pretty cool and a cool break room. There are guys there riding scooters in the office, and some guy I saw in the parking lot says it's very chill there and not super corporate. \
But ya anyone a production accountant, work for Disney, or made $28/hr? I would really love to make $28 an hour some day in my life, I would finally feel going to college was worth it.

That's good money. Why wouldn't you want the job?
Sounds like a pretty important position, though... surprised they wouldn't want to hire someone with a lot of experience, even if only temp.
PS. I would not accept anything less than $75/hr for a temp job, but I am not an accountant. :PForever alone? Attraction and keeping the girl chasing you - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=131498033

I make a little over 28/hr right now. Honestly seems like a lot at first but you will get used to it quickly.
2017 starts my profit share at my company. With profit sharing I my income will effectively double. I'm sure at some point I'll get used to that also.
Point being, ANY job you get offered that gives you more money than you've ever made - take it. Earnings potential is an incremental thing. Almost like your perceived worth is affected by what a previous company valued you at. You're MUCH more likely to get a 50/hr job coming off a 28/hr job, than jumping straight from 15/hr to 50/hr.
Hope that makes sense.Hey you, Hey you, This won't hurt a bit.

You going to be in Glendale or a different office? Have a few friends over there in senior back office roles ... Industry standard is it's a place you put in 2-3 years and move on since it's awesome on a resume but the work environment is tough. Not as bad as Amazon/I-banking but it's not going to be a walk in the park.
I'd suggest you start shopping for new roles 3-4 months into your contract. Very unlikely they will hire you out of temp contract also unless you are absolutely incredible. They are very corporate on how they handle contract workers and your supervisor would have to make a stellar case to get around that.
I only interviewed for the job. I'm still waiting on them to make a decision, hoping I get it but won't be surprised if they found someone with more experience.

03-18-2016, 02:55 PM #23Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

What the fk is your actual question? Do I make more than 28/hr? I'm salaried but yes much more if you break down the hourly... so fukkin what? Plenty of people who are happier with much less and many who will never be satisfied.

It will be the Glendale office, the DisneyToons studio. It's on 811 Sonora Blvd.
But have you been to that office. Even it being Disney, it's still the same office papers all over your desk environment, the most Disney as it gets is maybe the cute paper cut outs of Disney characters on the walls, but that's about it.
