Ohp with the monkey bar is weird anyway since you have to lean back just to clear the bar over your head. I may switch back to a straight bar. Or maybe just use dumbbells instead.
Tasty and quick, the way I like.
I want the sugar since I got rid of the Monsters and any refined sugars. Plus most fruit doesn't seem to bother my gut. I usually have fruit at the end of the night or after a meal. Except for my banana for a little energy on my long work days. The watermelon was after lifting because I was thirsty.

Omega 3's for the win with the sardines. The can I had were with Mediterranean seasonings which wasn't for me. The taste of nasty black olives was a bit overwhelming. I got them down though, way better to have real food than swallowing a supplement. A tin or two a week and I will be more then set. A good boost to calcium to.
I am sore as fuk from lifting Tuesday and my hip/low back is a bit suffering some. Stared bothering me Sunday after work. I was on spaz mode and I tend not to pay attention to how I move. I am afraid there will be no deadlifting tomorrow. I am going to bully myself to do some yoga.

So tired. I did have poor sleep and that combined with feeling physically beat up and a deficit is a bit much for me tonight. I am a 100 short on the calories tonight. Not worth bothering. I will make it up sometime this week. I was thinking about having a maintenance day on Saturday if I still feel laggy. That is if the scale moves and it should, I have been on point with my intake.
Hip was better today. So maybe on Friday I could get some lifting in. Going to do some stretching before sleep.*Trying to stay sane and get back to avi status.

Last of my beef. I have my monthly beef order coming in next week along with some chicken livers, veal liver, and some raw milk cheddar cheese. Yep going to start eating organ meats for the nutrition. That should last me 6-8 weeks if I supplement a couple of meals with wild caught fish. Digestion is starting to come back online. I am going to add some dairy back in next week. I don't think I have a problem with dairy and I miss butter and cheese so very much.*Trying to stay sane and get back to avi status.

I'm so jealous. I'm lactose intolerant and can really only eat hard cheese. I must say, cheese is one food I've really been craving on this cut; for the past several weeks I haven't had any dairy at all.
I haven't eaten liver in my adult life, but my mom used to make chicken liver when I was a kid. I had a knee-jerk disgust response simply because it was called "liver"; I'm not sure I ever wound up trying it! I also had an ex who was French and would eat chicken gizzards on a salad. I tried them; not bad, but the texture was oddly crunchy and unpleasant. I've eaten beef tendon in a stirfry (very good) and tongue (decent, but almost too tender). How do you prepare liver?"The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously."

Probably saute in butter with some mushrooms and onion. Pretty excited for a new food adventure.
That's a bummer. Dairy can add such variety. So you can eat a cheese like a parmesan then? Are you avoiding due to the fat? I know you are pretty lowish on your cut.
I haven't had any kind of liver since I was a child, and did not like it. But now I think I would enjoy. Plus I need the nutrients since I do not eat any veg anymore. I do like gizzards but never had tendon. I do intend in the future to get some beef heart. I will cook liver up in butter to med rare along with onions and mushrooms.

Mmm homemade chicken soup. What vegetables did you put in? I assume you screened to see if any upset your stomach.
Yes, I can eat hard cheese in moderate amounts. Parmesan, Gouda, Provolone, etc. I may actually pick up a little good cheese tomorrow at the grocery store now that I'm done with my competition. I miss cheese and fruit the most of what I've cut out, probably.

Ugh I have been feeling off the last few days, bloated, weird and crampy and sleep is messed up. Could very well be hormonal. I did add three foods back in at once too. So ditching the butter and onions for now just to eliminate variables. Could be stress as well, family stuff. I also ditched coffee. The acidity of coffee just exasperates the acids reflux and it scrambles my digestion. I bought some caffeine so i spread 200 mg out over the course of the day.*Trying to stay sane and get back to avi status.

Yeah, I hate to say it but onions are a common trigger for stomach issues. If I overdo it on them I feel it myself. I hope that's not it, though--could be any number of things! No celery in your chicken soup? My grandmother always used to make it with celery, carrots, onion, and lots of fresh parsley and black peppercorns. Actually, my mom recently found a short piece of writing she did about making chicken soup with me when I was a tiny kid. I'd sit on the counter and throw ingredients into the pot for her and make a huge mess. Apparently that's a very happy memory for her. She has dementia now, so I'm thinking about this stuff, I suppose.
You might also feel "off" because you overdid it. Lack of sleep will screw up my digestion every time."The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously."

I added too many foods at once. Could be a number of issues so its very hard to pin pint. I am beginning to think it is going to impossible. I forgot about the celery.
That is a great story about you and your grandmother. I have the best memories myself of mine baking pies and giving us kids the scrap pieces of dough to make mini pies. She has been gone 17 years now and the magic she had cooking will always live with me.

Re: craving chicken, when I get a serious craving that isn't just exposure-based, it's very often for things like meat. Steak, in particular. Been awhile since I've craved chicken, because I don't know really good ways to cook it... my mom makes stewed chicken with onions and dried fruit that's really good, but I never make it myself; maybe I'll ask for it next time I stop by there for dinner.
I'm sorry about the donut. That kind of thing never feels worth it after the fact. I do have a BJJ friend who lost 40lb while still eating donuts, but he trains like a madman."The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously."

Can't go wrong with a whole roasted bird or just roasted in general. Doesn't work so well with skinless chicken though, need that fat to flavor. Stewed chicken is so good. I just might make that for myself next time I buy a chicken.
Something like a donut is definitely a waste when restricting. Need that quality nutrition when on a deficit. I was a little disappointed that I went there.

I think it's good that you allow yourself to be flexible instead of rigid, and set a long timeline on goals. I think it's a more sustainable way to live than white-knuckling. I'm attempting that myself, though I have an extremely difficult time allowing myself maintenance days when I'm trying to lose weight. I hope the donuts were delicious.

My tendency is to be too rigid. I recognize that trait in myself which helps me to talk myself down from that all or nothing way of thinking. I am not always successful but I won this round. It was wild hormone cravings. I have some work to do to recover to make my deficit but that is the price one pays for a donut day. Weight loss needs to be a marathon for me not a sprint.
Yes, on several occasions in the past. its why I don't do dumbbell curls, pullups, and certain rows. This time around I think the combo of a couple of intense work nights and all the pulling I did on my last lifting session did me in. And yes there are exercises I can do. On the menu for tomorrow. I soaked them in salted water overnight and now have them drying on a rack in the fridge. A little dirty rice is in order.
Yeppers. Sardines along with liver are going to be my multi. They are a little dry but really sardines taste pretty much like a strong canned tuna.
LOL, I just wanted a little sample last night. Its really aged and intensely flavored and so very satisfying.. Plus it was very expensive at 21 dollars for a half a pound which makes me savor it a bit more.

Wow, a basically zero-carb day, dang. I've always been curious about what that might feel like. You seem able to eat so little food, volume-wise. Is that something that's new since your fasting?
I imagine you'll see a scale low after a day like that, simply due to the lack of carbs and food volume--dropped water weight and all that. Needing to make weight for competitions has made me very interested in ways people might manipulate scale weight."The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously."

It felt great yesterday. I am sure the larger fat macro helped in the satiety. I believe the less food volume is easier on my gut and it does suit my fasting better.
I do expect a good loss when I weigh in tomorrow with the fasting along with low calories and carbs. Yep low food volume and low carbs will give that consistent scale loss. Shoot I imagine that it could be 5 pounds or even more. Pretty easy for me to do zero carb since my body is accustomed to fasting. Might not be the case for an individual who is not acclimated.

Nice loss! Hope you take it OK if the scale goes back up once you add carbs and volume of food, as it tends to do.

Yeah I am well aware of weight fluctuations. I eliminate that variable best that I can by only weighing in only on Saturday and coming off a bit of a fast. That way conditions are about the same every week.
What a great memory! The smell was pretty intoxicating. That Is why I ate half the loaf. I need to practice more with mine.

I was going to do a fast but I was pretty hungry when I got home. Its funny how just a little bump in activity can have such an effect on my hunger levels. Its good that I had a little wiggle room with calories to play with. The eggs hit the spot enough with around 250 calories. Protein was a bit higher than normal. I would prefer more fat, its cheaper.
So starting a new program called the 90 day dash. Basically it incorporates yoga, mobility, and weights and is more fitness based. I have struggled quite a bit with lifting mostly due to the conflict of just getting older. Hard for me to accept that lifting heavy all the time just isn't smart anymore. Well I am pretty excited to start this new plan. And yoga is hard yall. I am not very graceful. It is on the agenda for three times a week so I am sure that I will improve. Also the program will take me longer than 90 days. My week is nine days long as Tuesday's and Thursday's are long work days for me so no other activity other than maybe some foam rolling.*Trying to stay sane and get back to avi status.
