Although it may be another cliche anime where the protagonist has strong super powers, I am getting Code Geass vibes from this, where the guy tries to take over the world but will struggle to do so and he wants to protect his sister

i only liked the first op srs, the first season was boring af, except for the last ep, and the second season was even worse, i dont like to drop anime but i think that Tokyo ghoul is the only anime i've ever dropped

Suggest you drop Guilty Crown. Gets really ****ty towards the end and MC is really unlikable. Only reason I kept watching it was for wheelchair girl.

Both seasons of Tokyo Ghoul 8/10.

First OP is the literal GOAT of all TV show openings. Also has a pretty great soundtrack:


S2 sucks for a majority of reasons, especially the lack of Touka (the manga is the same way), but it had qualities that I enjoyed.


With Tokyo Ghoul in mind, I'm on edge to read the manga on Sunday. Fukkkk.

I goofed anime brahs . My girlfriend was disappointed because she'd only watched DBZ/Inuyasha/Toonami-esque anime while I'd seen nearly everything. She watched TTGL and HxH on her own by my recommendation but to share the experience in the future I agreed to not watch any new show airing this season until we have free time to watch them together.

It's been nearly a month and we've yet to start anything since our schedules never align with enough down time to give us anime binge time.

IMO Tokyo Ghoul would be decent if I didn't read the manga.

However I just couldn't deal with it when the anime skipped the best parts of the manga. Example:

When Kaneki asks Touka's brother if he knows how many bones the human body has, Kaneki says the number and says that he will just half kill him by breaking half the 200's bones there are in the human body.


That part was so epic and badass that I just couldn't bear with the anime completely skipping it and taking another route

the movies kind of go hand in hand with the series. watching one over the other will leave some gaps in the berserk universe. (inb4 anime sux and manga rulez)

oh and the final scenes/battle is done a million times better in the third movie than the series so thats a bonus.

I really hope the actual story picks up as the first and second episode was interesting.
