if and only if you are in a caloric deficit. Either by eating less or burning more calories

The effects are minor. That said, when you have many minor effects going, diet, metabolis working optimal, training, supplementation, they all add up. I think its a great supplement
I like the L carnitine tartrate because of the studies ive seen on them. I think think regular L carnitine , Plcar, and Alcar work as ive used all of these. I'd like to see the same studies done on on all l carnitines to see if they match up with the lclt. That said, lclt with that study is what is sold.Disclaimer: The above post is my personal opinion and does not represent the official position of any company or entity. Definitely look for an LCLT product over an "l-carnitine". ALCAR is awesome, but isn't going to do anything in terms of fatloss as it's more often utilized as a nootropic.
Supplement a good diet: don't diet on supplements.

I haven't looked at the studies in a few years so someone correct me if I'm uniformed, but didn't research show LCLT really has no significant effect on fat loss but can improve performance by increasing time to fatigue?

I thought I read somewhere if you eat a decent amount of red meat it might not help as red meat has quite a bit of carnatine in it.....I dont eat red meat and havent in years, only fish/chicken 95% of the time, I noticed a huge difference after I started dosing it. felt like I lost a few pounds pretty quick, and overall felt better, and faster recovery. thats just my personal experience though.

ask yourself this;
if you are in a calorie deficit will you lose more body fat taking l-carntine?
The answer is most probably no. Or at the most, a complete unappreciable amount of extra body fat will be lost.
Or you can be like 99% of other supp users... Don't do the basics (in your care, calculate energy balance) and just buy supps hoping to see them results.

There are different types of carnitine that provide different benefits in the body as mentioned above. Carnitine can assist on a cellular level helping oxidize fat to be converted into energy. It can also help increase or sensitize skeletal muscle receptors, along with many other benefits.
If you're open to supplementing with it, have a reliable, cheap source, I say go for it.Jimmy Robinson
