An invite to the NFL Combine is a privilege. It is not a guaranteed spot in the upcoming draft. For athletes seeking a career in the NFL, they need to bring the total package to the Combine in order to showcase the multitude of skills they have. IMG Academy provides the NFL Pre-Combine/Draft Training Program, an intensive NFL Combine and pro day prep program that does more than strengthen the athlete’s on-field skills. In addition to rigorous weight training and demanding position-specific work, athletes are immersed in professional development and leadership training, individualized sports nutrition and supplementation, mental conditioning and state-of-the-art vision training to maximize their talents when they are under the greatest scrutiny. IMG Academy Pre-Combine/Draft trainees are challenged with a demanding schedule that taxes them both mentally and physically. Fortunately, IMG Academy has teamed up with DYMATIZE to provide these athletes with top-of-the line nutritional supplements to fuel performance and recovery.
Former Alabama Crimson Tide RB Kenyan Drake prepares his daily intake of Dymatize supplements at IMG Academy
Quick bursts of speed and power are essential for on-field success. Explosiveness and power are fueled by the creatine-phosphagen system, which is an immediate energy system supplying fuel for high-intensity exercise lasting 5-10 seconds. Dymatize creatine monohydrate is a staple supplement in most athletes’ day. Supplementing with creatine monohydrate post-workout helps to saturate the body’s natural stores of creatine, which, in turn, allows them to work harder and for longer at high intensities. As a result, greater performance and body composition changes are made.
An athlete training at IMG Academy will undoubtedly feel the pain of lactic acid build-up throughout their training sessions. Unfortunately, this is often an uncomfortable stimulus that forces the athlete to stop his exercise, despite the muscles still being able to accomplish more repetitions. Fortunately, Dymatize offers beta alanine to counteract this situation. Beta alanine acts as a buffer to delay the onset of the uncomfortable feeling. By prolonging the time in which this sensation is felt, athletes are able to accomplish more work at high-intensities. The result? Greater gains in performance and body composition are made.
Another nutritional tool available to the athletes are Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA’s). BCAA’s are unique amino acids that are delivered directly to skeletal muscle upon ingestion. BCAA supplementation plays a critical role in “jumpstarting” the recovery process. Additionally, supplementation with BCAA’s aids in muscle repair, reducing soreness and contributes to positive change in body composition.
The additional stress of a potential four-day career interview, in addition to weeks and weeks of intense training, puts one at an increased risk for a compromised immune system. That’s where Dymatize Glutaminecomes into play. Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid that has been shown to enhance immune response and function. In times where an athlete is feeling run down, glutamine supplementation may bolster the athlete’s immune system during a stressful and chaotic time period.
IMG Academy’s NFL Combine Preparation Program is an intensive, life-changing experience that challenges athletes from every angle. Dymatize supplements provide the competitive edge these athletes need to train and recover as they prepare for the next level. Throughout the 2015 Program, athletes lost an average of 4% body fat while simultaneously gaining muscle mass. Furthermore, the majority of athletes were able to meet their combine weigh-in goal prior to flying up to Indianapolis. These athletes made a huge sacrifice and pushed themselves to new limits during their time at IMG. Dymatize provided the extra edge needed to push them to the next level. This is a great example of how DYMATIZE is Perfecting Athletic Nutrition.

Training Importance of Dymatize Nutrition
Beta-Alanine
A long day of training sessions necessitates an additional boost to keep muscles working hard. Beta-alanine acts as a buffer within the muscles, prolonging endurance and limiting lactic acid buildup that commonly causes athletes to feel “burned out” and fatigued. When muscle endurance increases and fatigue decreases, it equals harder training for bigger results.
Creatine
Creatine supplementation increases a player’s energy capacity within muscles so that fatigue can be delayed, which optimizes power and potential to gain lean body mass. Creatine can help players to power through training sessions and repeat high-intensity movements, achieving an even greater level of performance.
BCAAS
After a long workout, recovery is going to be essential to gear muscles up for fieldwork and the training that follows. That’s where Dymatize’s branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) will come in. Research shows that BCAAs valine, leucine, and isoleucine play an essential role in the stimulation of muscle growth because they can be taken in directly by skeletal muscles. What does that mean for an athlete? After an intense workout when muscles have been pushed to their limits, supplementation with BCAAs speeds recovery and stimulates muscle gains despite the quick turnaround between sessions.
Glutamine Supplementation for Illness or Injury
Despite all of the beneficial aspects of Dymatize products, athletes are still susceptible to illness and injury due to the consistent presence of mental and physical stressors, which challenges the body’s recovery abilities. In such cases, Dymatize Glutamine is available for specific, individualized dosing. Glutamine supplementation may help to bolster the immune system, promoting a quicker recovery time.
Purpose of this thread..
Besides dropping all kinds of knowledge, spreading my love of the NFL, Combine, and the Draft this informational and giveaway thread will provide a chance to win several DYMATIZE supps that the pros and hopefuls use in their everyday training and recovery, AND MORE!! The end date will be determined but considering the NFL COMBINE is just heating up & the Draft is about 8 weeks away I'd say a wise choice would be to sub to this thread and get comfortable. 3. Surprise showings (athletes who were not talked up a lot prior to the combine but have a great combine)
2. Comparing position performance to the needs of my team (Steelers - desperate need in the secondary)
1. Rich Eisen running the 40 (seriously)
This one is even better

1. if anyone can break the 40-time record of 4.24 set by Chris Johnson in 2006. that is absolutely smoking!
2. who will be this years "Workout Warrior." ie. someone who kills it in the physical and eyeball tests, rockets up the draft boards based on this then fails miserably when its time to actually play the game. happens every year
3. Mel Kipers hair..

What are the top 3 things you look forward to in the NFL COMBINE?
1. The big guys who run the 40 yard dash ridiculously fast. 270 pound Jadeveon Clowney comes to mind running a 4.53!
2. The bench press..I've been working on increasing my bench lately, but I'm barely up to 225 now. I can't even fathom getting 30+ reps, much less the record of 51!
3. Watching any of my Buckeyes to see how they do.. there will be quite a few this year!!

overall, i was kind of disappointed with this years combine. no real eye-openers and alot of lackluster, on field performances. that being said, this is what i look forward to...
1. i love to see how the various "experts" tear down and build up the prospects of their choosing. most of the time, once everything pans out, their evaluations are no better than yours or mine.
2. like most people i look forward to seeing the 40 times. to see some of these athletes, with their size and mass, run like gazelles is truly amazing.
3. Wonderlic Test Scores and who posts some rediculously low score. The lowest notable score on the Wonderlic test was by Morris Claiborne (Cowboys), who scored a 4 in the 2012 NFL draft. The highest score in the history of NFL was by Pat McInally (Bengals), who scored 50 in the 1975 NFL draft. Dan Marino scored a low 15 and we all know how that turned out. just another way to add to the confusion...if they can play, they can play!

You guys rocking the boards!
Three things I look forward to:
1. Speedsters on the 40 yard dash
2. Hype of those that do well
3. The monster bench press some of these guys hit!
I am glad they have a combine as some of the kids that go to less well known and less covered schools by media, can really shine here and prove themselves to some professional teams.***COUNTRYMIKE APPRECIATION CREW***
