Seriously... its so pointless and out of hand.
Guys who never lifted a weight in their life on this forum have 100,000 Rep power and a guy in the red (because that 100,000 guy didnt like them) has legitimate opinions and answers and gets ignored.

I agree but my overall sentiment is a resounding not a single **** is given either way.
Not one. Forum is slowly dying anyway.Liverpool FC, YNWA, JFT96.

If he has legit opinions and answers then he won't get ignored.
But a more appropriate rep system would have a 'base' amount of points given per rep, for example 50.
One thousands reps from someone with 1k will only get you 1,000 rep power, which can be erased with one mod neg... but that person was repped a thousand times... that's gotta mean something.
So someone with 100k rep power would give you 150 points, while someone with 1k rep power would give you 51 points.
Combined with that, people with higher rep powers should have limited repping abilities.
0k-10k reps = 10 daily reps
10k-50k reps = 5 daily reps
50k-100k reps = 3 daily reps
100k+ reps = 1 daily rep
Put those two rules together and you'd have a much more appropriate rep system that evens the playing field, with less 'rep trading', and rewards both quality and quantity of good posts.

A smart system would have reps and negs but no rep "power", indeed.
Doesn't matter if you get repped or negged by a forum newbie or a forum god.
If 100 people think your posts are noteworthy, you should have 100 greens.
Not: If 100 people like your posts but one high rep trader doesn't like your post, he cancels out everything you have received, before.
And for the love of god, don't act like people constantly repping high rep posters in the hopes of a rep back doesn't exist.....

All these suggestions cost money to develop. It's not like admin could go and adjust specs so the rep system will work a certain way. The layout and coding for these forums is like an old dinosaur. There's still support for it, but it's not like there's all these options you could play with. I mean, there's things that could be done, but it's very limited.
