I dated a vegan for a bit in college and hopped on the vegan wagon for a few months. I was fine for the first week but after that I was getting my arse kicked in rugby, was more tired, less focused, and was plateauing hard on my lifts. Went back to meat and it was all alleviated within a few days.
Could I do it again for a week? Easy. Would I? Absolutely not.

Tastes great but it's not easy to get enough protein for bodybuilding purposes. 100 grams of kidney beans has only 10 grams of protein. Also, most of it is made up of carbs. You'd need to take protein supplements and amino acids as well.
EDIT
My estimate was a tad high. Apparently it's only 8.6 grams.

Yeah did it for about a month at one point and felt great but just too tough to deal when going to family/friend events, eating out and just grocery shopping. Plus I traveled for my job so good luck finding legit vegan options that don't become boring as fuk.
For me the biggest deal breaker wasn't even meat it was dairy products. The meat substitutes are at least somewhat legit if you smother them with enough stuff but vegan cheese is like eating old buttholes.

Was vegan for 4 years, 2002-2006. It's not hard to do after you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. Going out and traveling does suck sometimes but all in all, it's not hard. I Started fishing again in 2006 and started eating fish, then eventually started eating meat again. Then I eventually became a hunter and I eat mostly my own meat all year.
