Low carb diets may not better like many think

I remember a month or two Alan was posting some studies that showed that higher carb meals were better for what reasons including fat loss. I tried to scroll down his page but there is so much and my computer is about to die with it freezing every 3 seconds.

I am Hoping someone may have picked these up and saved them. Also I think there was an info graphic showing the number of studies supporting higher carb diets.

I really need to try and save all of these but at times I don't think I will use them again. Can anyone help me out? There were a few done in the last 3 months I think that were presented.

    TYIA.

I'm not sure what studies he posted, but this crossover study came out last year, and although the low carb group lost more weight, the low fat group lost more fat and burned more calories each day.

I have had better results doing keto which I started 4 months ago(down 40lbs.) then any other diet recommendation. For me I may be more carb sensitive than the average person but I feel great. If there is anything we all have learned from our fitness journeys its that there is no one answer for anything. Your body may like high carbs better, mine definitely doesn't. To each his own.

Because knowledge is important. And you have a lot of bros who have 0 muscle and no experience trying to teach BS.

Like the dude who has been doing the same bro split and sees 0 results. You know who I'm talking about, that guy at the gym who has been the same size for the past year but goes around telling people how to lift/eat

Don't tell me you don't know every gym has one, or maybe you have a friend who is like that.

Or that bro who's only been lifting for a couple of months and then tells people what works and what doesn't based on anecdotal experience.

Bruh I've read... A lot. I lift more than most people do after years of improper training/dieting. I weigh 180. The before pic on my body space is me at 172. Do the math bro.

I'm really not sure how some people prefer Keto or low carb diets. No pump, no energy for weeks until keto kicks in, muscles look flat, and strength loss. Unless you are an endurance athlete or epileptic I can't see any reason to drop carbs

I gained strength while doing it. Obviously you'll gain more in a bulk but keto is good for extreme fat loss.

Seems that any advantage a keto diet gives in fat loss is lost after the first 6 months.

You just don't listen to skinny dudes like ErikTheElectric
Is Eric a powerlifter? Just because someone lifts heavy weight, does not mean they are correct. Scott Mendleson thinks sugar is bad for you. He is super strong.

You are 163lbs. To me you are skinny. Does that mean no one should listen to you? Eric is actually full of useful advice. He also overcame an eating disorder and was anorexic. So looking at his physique now you could say he is someone to listen to with the changes he has made.
Alan Aragon, Brad Schoenfeld, Stu Phillips, Lyle McDonald. FTW.

Not a physique competitor but hope to compete in powerlifting next year. Max bench 1RM with pause 160kg. 352lbs.

    Lift and learn.

You have to hit macros some how and you can't just eat high protein and fat.... well you can but I prefer not to feel like crap and have no energy but I guess that's just me.

So I might as well take math lessons from an English major with that logic.

Look carbs spike insulin, which we all know is bad during weight loss.

In theory keto will minimize your insulin and use your fat stores as energy(because that's what fat is, stored energy).

I can't say that keto is the only diet out there for weight loss because that's crazy talk. What I can tell you from experience.

Inb4 you've only been lifting for a few months
    Inb4 post your lift stats

No one said dedication is easy bruh. No energy is a huge downside, you have to pull **** from deep inside to keep up the discipline.

Last edit: let me put in a way the most simple mind can understand. Are you extremely fat/overweight and you want drastic change? Pick up a very low carb diet and lift weights.

You want to lose 5-10 pounds for a wedding? Keep your macros balanced and a calorie deficit.

Nope. Insulin spikes aren't bad for weight loss.

In a recent metabolic ward study a lower carb diet was compared to a lower fat diet. The people on the lower fat diet had higher insulin levels yet lost most bodyfat.
