    Motivating me for the next 5 months to make sick progress

    But here's my entry. First photo is my senior year of high school, and I was a twig. Was tired of getting pushed around in sports, so I started hitting the gym with a couple buddies who I still work out with to this day.

    1 year later, I was a freshman in college and up from ~138lbs to 170lbs at 5'9". Basically, I ate everything I could and worked out heavy 6 days a week. I saw consistent strength gains, but as you can see in the below picture, I got pretty chunky in comparison to how I looked before. I was actually happy with it though, because it was extremely hard for me to put weight on with my natural ectomorphism, so getting above 170lbs was a huge step for me.

    I'm now a sophomore in college. I cut for about 6 months and dropped from my heaviest of 174lbs to about 158lbs, and now rest at about 160 and feel great about myself. I still see consistent strength gains with my program, and I'm a lot happier when I look at myself in the mirror. The picture below is from the end of my 6 month cut in which I was at about ~2200kcals a day. It worked really well for me, albeit being a little slow progress wise, but was worth keeping my strength and progress up.

    I'll give it a shot. I know my transformation story won't be as good as most but I am happy with the progress I have made so far. I am no where near my goals but like everyone else, I got to start somewhere. I have shared my story on here before so this may sound old to some but here it is again.

    My mother passed away in September of 2015 and in the same month I found out that my father has terminal cancer. All my family lives in California and I'm in Colorado so when I heard of the news I flew home to be with family for a month and half. While I was there and with all that was going on I had the chance to stay with my big brother jeffjones1332 and when I seen how he lived his everyday life as far as lifting weights and being healthy combined with the news of my mother and father something clicked and I knew I needed to make a change in my life to be in better health and in the best shape of my life since getting out of the Army in 2003. Not only for myself but for my wife, kids, and family. My brother introduced me to this site and the bodybuilding world and I made a promise to myself that when I got back to Colorado I would begin my journey.

    My main goal starting off was to lose some weight and then go from there. Not only have I been working out daily but I have even got my wife to be my workout partner and we workout together 6 times a week. We started working out together November 1st so in just a little over 3 months I have been able to knock off 24 lbs while she has lost 18 lbs. We both have a lot of work yet to put in but like I said, I am very happy and proud with not only the progress I have made so far but hers as well.

    This was taken our first day on November 1st. Weighed in at 230 lbs

    This was taken after 3 months on February 1st. Weighed in at 206 lbs so I have lost 24 lbs.

    I would say that my biggest obstacle along the way so far has been eating right and sticking to my diet. I am starting to control it better now thats for sure. I have had some bumps along the way as well such as my wife's aunt passing away in December and my 7 year old PitBull passing away to Leukemia in January. To say the least it has been a rough past 6 months for my family and I but already being in the best shape I have been in since 2003 in just 3 months of putting in the work has made me proud of myself. I must say that I am more motivated and dedicated than ever and damn I feel good. Thank you for the opportunity. Good luck everyone.

    Hello, my name is Adam Korby. I am 30 years old and I live in Snohomish, Washington. Most recently, I have become a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In the years after graduating from college, leading up to my certification, I had felt disconnect between myself, and the fitness world. As a child, I was heavily involved in sports and recreation. As I grew older, my competitive nature led me to earn a scholarship to play division one football at the University of Idaho. While attending Idaho, I earned honors such as team captain, first team all conference, and was listed on the Rimington Watch List, honoring the best centers in the country. When my time at Idaho was complete, I joined the work force and got lost in my daily routine.
    Two years ago I decided that I wanted to feel my competitive drive again, so I joined a gym and began my fitness transformation. Through a balanced lifestyle with fitness and nutrition, I have gone from a 305-pound lineman, to a happy and healthy 205 pounds and 8.4% body fat.
    Through my transformation I have learned so much about myself. I have learned that I love to challenge myself with new goals everyday, but most of all, I have reset my excitement for health and fitness. This is something I’m passionate about sharing with others.

    I'll throw my story in.

    When I was in middle school, I got made fun of. I wasn't very cool. I was pretty nerdy. I was actually really good at origami. I was in the newspaper for it (srs google "michael pickett origami master") lol. And if you could imagine, I got teased a lot for that. (But now most people think it's pretty awesome).

    I wanted to be "cool" in high school, so I tried to play football. I was very small (pic below) and tried to play fullback. Shows you how much I knew about football, right? I actually tore my ACL while snowboarding in a freak accident, and for some reason I started training really hard upper body while in a leg cast. I started seeing changes, and fell in love with this stuff.

    I decided to try my first bodybuilding show when I was 17 (it was laughable) but somehow managed to place 2nd. Ever since then I've loved the sport. I've overbulked multiple times (pic below as well) and then I've diced up pretty wicked for a show too (pic below). Now I'm about 225lb at 5'7", still always trying to imporve and get better. My legs are finally big (I lost my first show because of that) and I feel strong and solid.

    The guys who used to make fun of me in middle and high school now hit me up asking for advice on nutrition and lifting. I've completely transformed who I am. And I'm very thankful to the sport of bodybuilding because the amount of discipline and dedication that I learned through the sport, I've been able to apply it to many aspects of my life. I've been told I have extremely good work ethic, and I sincerely believe it's from the dieting and training I've done.

    Here's when I was 14

    Here's when I competed at my first show when I was 17

    Here is when I overbulked

    Here's my most recent show at 185lb on stage(I have the mohawk)

    And here's a pic of me from last week, sittin at 225lb, keepin my cardio up
    The 2 most important things to me when training are 1. The Muscle Mind Connection. and 2. Intensity

    GENERAL INFO:
    Gender: Dude
    Age:42
    Height: 5'9"

    PROGRESS:
    November 2014: 316.6lbs
    February 2016: 174.8 lbs
    Total Weight Lost: 141.8
    Pants Size: from 52 to 32
    Shirt Size: from XXXL to SMALL

    CLIFFS:
    I have been overweight for the last 20 years. This was caused by a diet consisting of mostly sweets and baked goods, in combination with a sedentary lifestyle.

    In November 2014 I decided to change everything. I started by completely removing most sweets and baked goods from my diet: bread, pasta, donuts, candy, etc., and replaced them with meat, veggies, fruit, dairy, etc. This was hard at first because of my family's background and the way I grew up. A few months later I began to exercise moderately and to lift weights.

    I have learned that patience and perseverance are very important, and that small consistent steps are more efficient than larger leaps that are inconsistent.

    I am currently following an eating regime that combines periods of counting daily macros and periods of eating intuitively. I will do one month of strict counting, followed by 2-3 months of eating intuitively. It has worked well for me. For example, after Thanksgiving I took two months of eating intuitively and maintained my weight at 180 lbs. Since February 1st, I started counting macros every day, and creating a 15%-20% caloric deficit every day (except for Sunday), and have already lost 5.2 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks. I will keep counting macros until the end of February or so, and then I will do two months of intuitive eating. Something like that.

    I have continued to keep most baked goods and sweets out of my diet: bread, pizza, pasta, pastries, candy. I know they are not the enemy, and I know it is the caloric deficit in combination with exercise that really counts. Still, it is a personal choice at this time to keep these things off of my plate. If I decide to reintroduce them, I will make sure they fit into my macros and go from there. At this point, I am fine without the donut on there

    My short term goal is to reach into the 160's without losing too much muscle, and then to continue building some muscle, so I don't look like my sister ... sorry T.

    Here are some progress photos.

    ========================================

    SUMMER 2014: 316+ lbs

    ========================================

    SUMMER 2015: 238 lbs

    ========================================

    WINTER 2015: 179 lbs

    ========================================

    SUMMER 2014 vs. WINTER 2015

    ========================================

    LAST SATURDAY - FEBRUARY 13: 174.8 lbs

    ========================================

    This is just the beginning of the journey.
    I know I have a long way to go.
    I look forward to it!

    Thank you for the promotion.
    Win or no win in here, I am already a winner!
    Very happy with my transformation!

    Found it.

    This was june last year at 210. 6 months after my injury I was finally able to hit the gym again but no squats, lunges or almost anything that had pads going on my feet or doing exercise standing.

    Every exercise I did I had to either lay down or sit.

    Still trying to get past the pain of my injury so my squat is stuck at 2 45s and 1 25 each side. But I'm doing lots of HIIT and cardio. But still lifting heavy.

    Looking good little bro,keep going strong.Sucks the way things have been going,but glad I helped/inspired you to get back into shape and beyond.Your hard work is paying off.

    That goes for everybody else in the thread as well.

    My story of transformation: 2 weeks before I decided to take up daily yoga classes (had to take a pre-workout w/aminos and agmatine just to get loose and endure it w/o quitting/falling out of postures). End of summer 2015 ran out money for yoga studio classes and struggled to get into the habit of implementing a "home practice" although was lifting fairly intensively w/minimal stretching (low front box squatted 135x3, DB declined 90sx1, 30 strict hanging leg raises consecutively). Since November have been trekking the deep waters of high reps/sets courtesy of the company reps here! Complete Game-changer:

    Starting to think this isn't going to go through...???
    I just saw another Six Star Pro Nutrition thread where promotion winners did not receive their items since November.

    I hope I am wrong.
    Oh well.

    Not desperate for new supps, as I have enough, and usually don't mind paying for things I need.
    Just sayin' though.
