HI NSNS! have you heard about this book? i have it and theres some good info on it but i havent been consistant enough to grasp the skill yet, but i love practicing just working around my illness can be a PITA. i also have the breakthrough rapid reading book at the bottom, i cant wait to learn speed reading cuz theres so much stuff i wanna learn and retain. cheers!

I am not familiar with the books you mentioned.
There are many techniques and systems for speed reading.
The two books that I mentioned are actually quite different in approach...
Cutler has quite a linear approach, where you're supposed to read with as WIDE a spectrum as possible, to the point where you can see half of the row at once, and eventually, the entire row at once, and ultimately seeing and entire paragraph at once... Imagine that!
Berg has a more cognitive approach, where you're supposed to comprehend key words and main ideas, paying less attention to smaller words like "and", "so", "by" etc.
The two methods sort of work against each other, and Berg discourages his students to read mechanically.
Anyways, I started with Cutler and continued with Berg, so now I have sort of a goofed up, combined system. It is probably better to pick ONE system and just go with it.
I have a lot to read, both at work and school, so this is very beneficial!
That right there is crucially important, because who cares how fast you can read if you can't RETAIN it, right???
However, both systems (and possibly others like them) will encourage students NOT to focus on retaining too much in the beginning, which supposedly comes later. You know what? It does. You end up reading very fast and not understanding/retaining everything, but then the comprehension/retention comes also.

I thought the same thing... about the diet break.
Glad I was able to maintain my weight for two months and some change, just by eating intuitively.
I really wanted to make this change permanent from the start.
I won't carry a food scale with me for the rest of my life - I will probably count macros a few months out of the year, when needing to make certain adjustments. Truth be told, I do enjoy counting, so I don't know for sure...
Where are they?
I told you on the first page.
They all ran to Dunkin Donuts...

Valentines donuts perhaps?
Truly eating withing your maintenance calories without counting was awesome. The holy grail for all of us who were once overweight. I hope for myself is to be able to ease some and not weigh nearly everything I eat.
