    Who has an Apple Watch?

    Please no trolls.

Just kinda looking at them right now. They're expensive. But look like a fun little toy.

Any owners: what is your impression of the Apple Watch?

I've got one and I am very happy with it. Whether you like it or not will be mostly determined by your expectations. It's not a must have, but it's a nice complimentary piece. I don't wear mine every day but it has a solid spot in my watch rotation, and it's nice getting notifications more easily and some other cool things it does.

Some people go into it expecting too much but lets be real, it's not meant to replace a phone or do things your phone can't, just a cool extension of your existing phone features. If you go into it well aware of this you will most likely enjoy it.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I'm considering one of those for a couple reasons.

    1) I live in and work with Mac products all day. No pc.

    2) I like the activity app and tracking/logging associated with that.

    3) the notification convienence during meetings etc, when pulling out your phone to look at an email or missed phone call is considered rude.

I'm a big Swiss watch guy and own many, so obviously I would not wear an Apple Watch in front of clientele, I'd wear something nicer. But it seems like it would make a lot of things more convienent.

I'm a big phaggot. I'm not interested in anything android based at all. Nothing against them. I just think it makes more sense to stick with technology that I live with and work with every day. I don't own a windows based piece of hardware at all.

I'm looking at the LG urbane. They're the same price. I do like the round face better than apples square face. Battery size seems to be comparable.

I'm a big watch guy so I delayed the Apple Watch for MONTHS. I bought a Stainless Steel 42mm model over Christmas and I love this thing but it's definitely a luxury item not a necessary item.

Being a watch guy yourself I recommend the SS version rather than the cheaper Sport.

EDIT: Everything MrAWatts said is correct, don't go into this thinking it's going to be replacing using your phone.

That is basically what my wife uses hers for...activity tracking and notifications. The GPS functions seem neat whether walking or driving. She uses it for voice texting as well.

You'll at least have to concede that the LG watch looks more professional.

Aside from the sapphire glass, and over priced apple branded SS band. What makes that one worth the extra premium?

Yeah the notifications is great. I personally do the same. When I'm in a meeting it's really easy to tilt the wrist ever so slightly so it displays the info without being obvious or making it seem like you aren't interested in whats going on. Also it's great for some situations, but others you are going to want a more upscale timepiece. Fitness tracking is great, I like the heart rate monitor and how easy it is to use. I'm all mac/apple as well so it integrates into the ecosystem well. I say go for it, you'd probably enjoy it from the sounds of it.

Edit: I got the sport version myself just because I use it in gym alot and sweat on it, but you can buy aftermarket adapters to put any bands on there if you want to really open up your options

The sapphire glass and stainless steel is what justified it for me (I only paid 400 for mine when it retails at Apple for 519). The sport model feels more "fitness band" than watch and I didn't want that.

I have an LG Urbane, as stated, as long as you don't expect too much from them (smart watches) they're great.

I like the fact you can change the faces, as I get bored easily, and that at first glance it doesn't look like a smart watch

Beyond that, the only real use for me is reading notifications on my watch to see if they're worth replying to straight away.

I rarely use the watch itself to reply though. Talking to my watch in public just seems weird.

Other than that, it's a handy remote control for changing the music on my phone on public transport.

Own one since release. I seriously miss it when I'm not wearing it ( if I wear another watch to go on a fancy date or something ).

It's incredibly useful for me. I use it for the gym, to save time, to check my mails / texts / calls / etc as they come in. I set my watch face to show important details ( date, time of course, temperature outside in my city right now, if I have an alarm set, the next event on my calendar 0.

It's crazy how having to take out your phone, unlock it and click on a button seems so cumbersome once you're used to just lifting your wrist.

TBH I feel if it wasn't expensive everyone would have one.

Can't comment on android watches, not interested at all.

^^^Edit: well I just lost 3 minutes of my life
