I still won't believe that deal until it's officially announced. I can't believe the Dolphins would do that deal straight up without us taking on some of the money.
anyway, we obviously need a QB, but I've heard no rumblings here about Goff. not that it matters any, Goff is the only QB in the draft that I like.

The #Eagles agreement with safety Rodney McLeod, 5 years, $37M, includes $17M guaranteed. Huge move for Philly.Last edited by ChaseBromsley; 03-09-2016 at 09:44 AM.

Just signed Rodney McLeod from the Rams. Pretty sweet.
"McLeod will now be paired up with Eagles Pro Bowl safety Malcolm Jenkins. The two should form a pretty good starting duo. For what it's worth, the Eagles now have two of the top ten ranked safeties by Pro Football Focus in 2015. Jenkins was first while McLeod ranked 10th overall."
Coach Jeff Fisher...."Every year he just steps it up a huge notch, from being our best special teamer the first year, to starting last year to now he’s in a role as a starter. He gets the game. Moves very well. I thought he played really well last year. He misjudged a couple deep balls, but everybody does that. But I thought he was really active, knew what to do, and run-supported very well. "

As long as everything becomes official at 4 pm today (which we can't take for granted at this point), moving up from 13 to 8 according to the draft value chart is equivalent to an early 3rd round pick. I'd even argue that it's more of a late 2nd round value due to the top-heaviness of the first 8-10 players in this draft.
Bringing in McLeod is looking like an awesome move and I'm sure Roseman structured that contract like the wizard that he is. Daniel is also great to hold the clipboard and mentor Bradford, but brings a risk of a potentially annoying QB controversy that the media is probably itching to spark up. Hopefully the Sanchize already has his bags packed.
Great stuff so far and the new league year hasn't even technically begun yet. Seems like they're getting back to the old philosophy from the early-00's when we we're perennial contenders (WCO with a strong defense).Eagles ~ Phillies ~ Flyers ~ UConn~ KD

Love the McLeod signing; not crazy about Daniel signing but I suppose it can't hurt to have a solid backup since you never know with Bradford.
Now that we have McLeod he obviously figures to be the starter. I wonder if the Eagles bring Thurmond back to play corner.Last edited by MA5Bergey; 03-09-2016 at 11:14 AM.

It would be terrible for the front office's reputation if they traded away a guy they just signed a week ago, unless Bradford was in on it and was aware he might be moved when he signed. If not, you're essentially telling any future free agent that they could be traded before the contract's ink is dry.
If Bradford stays healthy and plays at least 70% of the games, Daniel is only getting paid slightly more then other back-ups around the league. And I'm sure they had to throw a little more money at him to get him to come be a back-up when he probably could've had a better chance at starting somewhere like Cleveland, LA, or even Denver now.
His contract only elevates to very low-end starter money if he throws for almost 2000 yards or something, which would mean he played close to 8-10 games and in that case, wouldn't he deserve that much?Eagles ~ Phillies ~ Flyers ~ UConn~ KD

i'm not as worried about our QB situation anymore, because pederson is going to run a scheme that doesn't involve Bradford/Daniels going 3 and out in 15 seconds flat.
my curiosity is really all about the draft now and whos coming home with that number 8.
i think howie has done a fantastic job correcting the mistakes of chip da ripper.Always $trive and Prosper

What do you guys think of the offseason so far? Who you hoping for in the draft? Liking everything we've done so far for the most part. Keeping our your core in check. It be nice if we signed Cox but that will take some time.
I really hope we don't draft a qb in the first round. I'm hoping we go VH in the first because I think he will be BPA. Stanley has too many question marks and I wouldn't hate drafting Zeke. He'd be exciting but I'd rather had VH. Ideally if we can somehow move up to top 5 and draft either Jack or Ramsey I'd be ecstatic. I'm thinking maybe trade our first, third and second round pick next year for a top five first. I know it be a huge commitment but Ramsey is an absolute animal and same with Jack. If we know we'd be getting Jack fifth overall maybe do a first, third and Kendricks. Then we don't lose any picks for next year and can draft a lb in the fifth or sixth for depth. Thoughts?

I agree but the only lineman that might be taken that high is Stanley and a lot of people are saying he has huge bust potential. Not very strong and gets beat by speedy fast rushers a lot. Obvs if we can get Jack or Ramsey we take them but it will be impossible to get them where were at. I like grabbing VH but we have so many dbs right now do we really need him. Obvs BPA but Rowe should have a good year and we'll have McKelvin and Carroll fighting over the second db spot. We also have Jacorey who looked really good last year until he went down in pre season. I think we have a total of 9 dbs right now. I think it basically leaves Ezekial which isn't bad at all. Yes they have short shelf lifes but he can do it all. Even block really well for Bradford when needed. I don't see that being such a bad thing. Use our third round picks on a qb maybe Cardale Jones and a decent lineman and that should set us up for a decent draft hopefully.
