Ertz has WAY more upside than LJ Smith ever did. Smith was hardly an average TE.
Ertz has been improving every season he's been in the league and he's pretty much used as a receiver more than a TE. Chip kept him on the sideline because Celek was a better blocker. I'm expecting Ertz to break 1,000 this season★☆★ Full-Time Philadelphia Eagles Fan ★☆★

Bradford will not make 10. On the open market, he'll command high teens.
So here are your options: a 3 year deal with Bradford for lets say 50 million, or franchised for 20? Or let him walk if he wants more?
There is a ton of hype right now on Carson Wentz, everyone is saying he's the best QB in the draft. If Lynch, Goff, and Wentz are all evaluated as franchise QBs, I'm not against signing RG3 on a cheap 2 year deal, letting Bradford go, and drafting one of these guys and allocating that money to another free agent tackle or WR like Alshon Jeffery. While I like Bradford and he'd be the best option this upcoming year... He is not some elite QB that isn't replaceable.
We could sign a good guard in FA, flip our tackles, and draft another guard with one of our 3rd and use the rest of our resources towards defense.355 Bench

Still can't say I'm crazy about Pederson, but resigning Curry, Celek, Ertz, and Johnson to long-term deals tells me that the Eagles are learning from their mistakes. I'd rather our core talent gets locked up than to see the front office go on another free agent spending spree. Now we just have to resign Cox.

Despite the cap hit to production ratio I'm surprised to see Maxwell gone this soon. I'm sure that we'll see a Fletcher Cox deal soon with the Maxwell money off the books.
That said, 4 draft picks can be huge. Miami's got a 1st (8), 2nd (42), 3rd (73), 4th (108), 5th (147), 6th (189), and two 7ths (225, 229). I doubt Miami traded their first before draft day but depending on the picks, I wonder if the Eagles are stockpiling picks to move up in the first. Maybe they have eyes on Goff or Staley or a pass rusher (edit: not saying I necessarily want Goff)?Last edited by MA5Bergey; 03-07-2016 at 03:23 PM.

Probably like a 6th, preferably a 5th but veterans don't really bring back much of a return (similar to when we acquired Ryans and Sproles).
The one wild card is that DeMarco supposedly restructured his contract with Tennessee, so maybe we got more back since it wasn't a true salary dump.Eagles ~ Phillies ~ Flyers ~ UConn~ KD

Not to get anyone's hopes up, but rumors I keep seeing now have us swapping 1sts with Miami while also picking up a 4th. If true that would be an incredible deal.
Another rumor is the Cowboy's weren't wiling to match what Tennessee was offering for Murray, meaning it could be more than just a late round pick. Tomorrow afternoon can't get here soon enough.
Also signed Leodis McKelvin to a pretty cheap contract, solid depth corner who had a good year under Schwartz.Eagles ~ Phillies ~ Flyers ~ UConn~ KD

Ugh.... here's to hoping the Maxwell trade isn't dead.
http://deadspin.com/eagles-dolphins-...max-1763746990
Source tells @mortreport and I #Dolphins-#Eagles trade involving Byron Maxwell, Kiko Alonzo may be off b/c concern Maxwell shoulder injuryAs of now, #Dolphins consider trade with #Eagles to be dead. Deal had teams swapping spots in 1st round of draft, Eagles moving from 13 to 8
Maybe the Fins are trying to get the Eagles to eat some of that money.
