Time for a new thread.
Doug Pederson likely to be our new HC. He was pretty much a journeyman QB when in the league and spent many years backing up Favre. He was on our coaching staff from 2009 - 2012 and was the Chiefs OC since then. Glad he has some Philly blood in him

i dont know much about the guy but im not too excited about this quote by him..
A West Coast offense adherent, Pederson recently outlined his preference for a quarterback of Smith's skill set.
"I'd rather have somebody that way, who is not going to turn the ball over," Pederson told The MMQB's Jenny Vrentas, "who is going to use his legs when he needs to run, who uses his brain all the time to get us out of bad situations. And if he manages the game that way and we win, then I'll take that."
the prospect of having to watch a dink and dunk offense does not entice me..Always $trive and Prosper

At first, I wasn't all that excited. But it's hard to feel any particular way since no one can gauge how well he'll do this early out. Although I did hear that he's an extremely hard worker - something about him sleeping in his office when he was here?
Snake, you're absolutely right. We need a real GM. If Pederson is the guy, he needs all the help he can get to start this thing off on the right foot and so the future looks bright. Not that conniving rat Roseman.

I don't get the organizaition. they fired Chip to get a jumpstart on interviewing coaches, but it seemed like this is who they wanted all along.

Never been less excited for the future than I am now. I don't think we're as far off from being competitive as some think, we have a lot of talent, but, the only way I see us being any sort of competitive next year is if we draft well and sign Bradford. Unfortunately Lurie and Roseman are going to drive this franchise into the ground. Lurie misses the Reid/McNabb era so much that he's trying to replicate it with a guy who didnt even call plays and no QB.
I won't crucify Pederson until he deserved it but I'm disgusted with the management. Signing Bradford is a much needed step in the right direction.
People who wanted Chip gone, are you guys happy?
Hopefully it works out, but if it doesn't I hope you guys will see how much of a snake Roseman is. Guy is an absolute cancer.*****Eagles/Phillies/Flyers/Sixers*****

Several sources say they wanted McAdoo, who got gobbled up by the Giants, then they wanted Coughlin, who backed out, then turned to Pederson. So it sounds like they only went with him because he was the best remaining alternative they had interviewed (It was down to him, Shurmur, and Staley). I still think I'd have preferred McDermott over him but the Eagles obviously wanted an offensive minded guy.

They didn't interview McDermott because he wouldn't bow to Howie. When McDermott was here him and how didn't agree on personell (Cris Clemons) and Howie is a butt hurt paranoid power hungry ******* so they brought in a guy who is a "yes man" and will let Howie run the show. There's reports that Pederson won't be able to hand pick his coordinators. They're saying Schwartz and Childress.
Howie is the problem, had he not fired Tom Gamble out of no where chip probably wouldn't have asked for full control and we wouldn't be having this problem.*****Eagles/Phillies/Flyers/Sixers*****

These. The guy played well after getting the rust off. Get him a few more weapons to throw to, get our secondary together, and go back to an offensive scheme that fit the QB( who will also be allowed to call audibles) and I think we at least do better than this season.
Maybe a performance based contract with an annual salary of 10 million? One year deals only?
