This workout was alright!! It’s almost time for my period and that REALLY affects my workouts. I get really weak and shaky when I do physical activity a few days before.

I have mild cramping radiating down the front of my legs too so hanging knee raises weren’t pleasant. lol!!! Sorry if all that’s TMI but it’s the truth

Wasn’t in the mood for heavy lifting today so supersetted in the 8-10 rep range, for the most part. Basically picked an exercise/weight and did as many as I could. If you didn't' notice already, I am a very intuitive lifter and I enjoy it that way

    Pull! Monday, Jan. 18!

    Hammer Grip Pull-Ups:
    x7
    x5
    x5
    x3

    A1- Inverted Rows:
    x8
    x8
    x7

    A2- Upright Rows:
    35x10
    60x5
    75x4
    75x2
    70x5
    65x7

    B1- Hanging Knee Raises:
    x10
    x10
    x11
    x12

B2- Single Arm Low Rows (Resistance band)
    100x10 ea
    100x10 ea
    100x10 ea
    100x10 ea

    B3- Tricep Cable Pulldowns:
    80x12
    80x12
    80x10
    80x12

    ***********
    Afternoon

    Upright Resistance Bands Rows:
    80x10
    80x10
    80x12
    80x14

    Resistance Band Curls:
    80x10
    80x10
    80x10
    80x10

Also brought my 80lb resistance band so planning on doing a few upright rows and curls during the day, just to get some extra volume in. Probably for 20 minutes or so before my lunch break when it's quiet here.

Legs tomorrow!!! Going to do box squats again but instead of going heavy I’m going to keep it lighter for higher reps. Because my form probably blows right now and with everything hurting and being misaligned, I think going heavy on those might hurt more than help.

Weekend was good! Did some moving. Aiming to be all moved in by next weekend Which is exciting, we have our new gym room all planned out Pics of all that to come when it's ready! Happy Monday!!

Ugh, TOM, just went through a terrible week with mine, so I feel your pain. I tried working out last Tuesday and my body was like NOPE!

Yay, for getting the move started. Can't wait to so the workout room when your finished the private deck sounds nice, get a nice grill and have some awesome later spring and summer nights out.

Intuitive training is awesome. Some days you just can't do the program or have a case of the fukitalls lol. Good idea bringing the resistance bands to work, I might steal that idea!
If this were easy, everyone would walk around ripped.

Sometimes there is no pushing it, no matter how hard your mind wants it!!!

I’m so excited! There’s a big deck, a BBQ for it already, and a nice big yard where we can build a green house and plant veggies, and there are no houses up there so piles of privacy. And the view is up high and looks right over the ocean. It’s a beautiful little place So many good things about it!

Hahaha yes, makes it hard to stick with a plan but progress over time is what I’m mostly concerned about. I figure if I stick to the same exercises and max out here and there I should be good anyway

I really should be throwing in a max out session every month or so.

The resistance bands worked great! They are really thick and the handles are wicked. I was like…do some work, do a set, do some work, do a set. lol! Will do again

Thanks I did want to lift, just not in the rep range I was supposed to based on the plan I made, haha! Do you have a journal? I must go find out!

Thanks Jani! TOM should be here any hour now so hopefully that nonsense will be over with soon. Hips are getting better with plenty of stretching and I stopped running completely ad switched over to fast walking which was probably the root of my problem.

Today I really wanted to use the rack and hit my weak areas that haven’t been hit in like, a year, lol. I’ll have a good quad day sometime this week but I really wanted to hit my lower back, glutes and hips today.

    Tuesday, Jan. 19th- Legs!

    Box Squats:
    65x15
    80x10
    130x10
    155x6
    155x8
    155x6
    155x6
    155x6
    80x25

    Good Mornings:
    30x10
    60x10
    80x12
    80x10
    80x10
    80x10

    Alternating Reverse Lunges:
    80x16
    80x16
    80x16

    Edit- Afternoon Shenanigans

    Sissy Squats:
    x12
    x12
x12 (noticing the soreness creeping in already at this point)

Can’t wait for push day so I can use my bench and rack for benching and oh presses. I learned I can use the safeties for benching, it’s just not that great.

Oh, also wanted to mention that I am 120lbs even now, randomly, and it has been stuck there for almost a week now! I am eating at least 1800 cals a day, lol.

    Happy Tuesday!!!!

    Cliffs!

    - Legs are SORE!

    - Moving has begun full tilt. Not getting into all the details but Stephen is home today (job stressed him out and he may be on EI for a while, many things prospectively lined up from 9 month trades other potential jobs)moving with his dad and my dad and step-mother

    - Wanted to do push today but needed some extra pms sleep And then Stephen decided to move everything today so the gym might not make it to the same place the bed is until the weekend

    - We need some interlocking mats for the new gym room

    - The bench doesn't completely go flat...It's either incline or slight decline cause it's a piece of crap...so incline I guess it will be

    - I can't lift after work because moving

    - It's Wednesday, so class tomorrow night and no gym in the morning cause different houses means I might not get a chance to lift until Friday evening, which might be the only day I get a chance but dying to today

    - Lots of snow so skiing this weekend

Hi We did! Got about 4 hours in this weekend in total Had a blast!!!!!! Tired today though with all the moving and skiing.

I was out for walks every day at lunch time too and there's so much snow in the trails it was a real workout! On top f moving and organizing....I am one pooped turkey.

Didn't get the gym room set up yet but everything else is done. Brought over the 35's and a few other things so I can do a DB workout at least and tried to lift this morning but my body wasn't feeling it.

I haven't had a rest day in ages from cardio nonsense. I might lift later or I might take a few more days off from everything to just get myself back to feeling less exhausted and set up the gym room and organize the place. I ate a lot on the weekend, purposely, to try and recover better, lol!!! Feeling wiped.

Ok! So after taking about a week off from lifting, switching from running/doing intense exercise at lunch to doing some light walking, and after eating a lot of food, I'm finally starting to get some energy back

that time I said I was feeling under the weather? It was like I had a small head cold and every time I did too much it would come back or feel worse. The weekend sort of killed me....we had a party on Saturday night and I was hung over on Sunday...plus we went skiing for 4 hours, and on top of that...trying to move/organize the clothes, etc. Felt pretty lousy yesterday but better here today!!!

Everything is done now except the gym room so we are putting that together today and hopefully I can wake up early tomorrow and get some lifting in Super excited, I'd like to do my Push day and get in some benching!!

Though it might be pretty lame, hahaa! Especially since I can pretty much only bench on an incline. But the cool thing is, the gym room has two windows that overlooks the ocean and I can watch the sun rise as I'm lifting Be back tomorrow with workout Happy Tuesday!!!

Hi Jani!!!! No workout, lol! No time! The evenings have been so busy The gym room was still missing plates and I had so much to do....We give our keys over to the landlord today though so then we are done with the other place and just need to settle into the one we are in.

    *************

I should have gotten up this morning and lifted. And I can't lift tonight because I have a dr's appointment after work....which I forgot about and was totally thinking I could lift tonight. But my sinuses are still crappy and I have a giant lymph node on the side of my neck so along with the exhaustion- I'm thinking it's an infection. That's just lingering on....and on.....and on....And my sleep is still garbage. Just cause I suck at sleeping.

So basically, much to my disdain, I am forcing myself to rest and recover for a little longer. My glute/leg is so bad now my feet are killing me (wearing insoles in my shoes today) and my right calf (the same side as my painful glute) is paining now and my feet are still falling asleep.

Thinking this is stemming from my feet. I think I have flat feet. My arches are throbbing and tingling. It's painful! I need some flat shoes or better insoles in my boots or both....Think you were right, Equinom!!!!!! I am slowly getting to the bottom of this. I've always noticed how much more curvy other people's feet were compared to mine, lol!!!!!

And other than the fact that I am falling apart, I've decided I'm going to start up 5/3/1 again to get my strength back up. Focusing on incline bench, box squats, OH presses, and I'm going to see if I can set up something for rack pulls.

Setting my 1 rep maxes pretty low. Cause I definitely lost some strength.

And I did bench last night for the first workout of 5/3/1 but that's all I had time for. It was pathetic, lol....Incline bench is harder than flat bench!!!!

Woohoo! Hopefully it will be a raging party soon Hahaha!

    ******************

My health issues are ruining my lifting endeavours! It's annoying the sh#t out of me! I was at the doctor last night to get prescriptions renewed and mentioned my lymph nodes always being swollen and always having a viral sinus infection (like, constantly) so I'm getting an ultrasound done on my neck to see if the lymph nodes are normal.

I honestly think I have an autoimmune disease. I have every symptom of Lupus. Annndd I think it's in my family somewhere along the line. I even get the butterfly rash thing on my face when I'm active in the sun/heat. But lets not go self-diagnosing myself But I am trying to listen to my body and my energy reserves don't stretch far. I'm not lazy and I'm not a slacker when it comes to lifting. It's just hard to summon the energy.

Resting this weekend so I can recover and 5/3/1 will commence on Monday or during the weekend, depending on if I can contain myself. I am DYING to do box squats! But body is aching. But I'm getting back to my normal routine next week for sure.

Not serious signs, but in my mind it sounds logical, lol!!!! I don't know, I feel run down so much and my body feels so heavy and fatigued, ALL THE TIME, as well as a host of other things (Raynaud's, dry skin/patches, dry eyes, constant infections, gastro stuff, etc.) Could just be me and I'm crappy but I don't know. Sometimes I have to wonder, lol! I get so annoyed that I feel so exhausted all the time.

    Thanks, hopefully!!!!!

I felt so weak, ahahaha! I did 85x6 or something like that and it felt super heavy! I'm sure I was doing those in the 100's the last time I didn't them, but I haven't benched in almost a year so I guess it's to be expected

This was a random leg day! I wanted to do my 5/3/1 workout but I didn’t have my numbers with me and I wasn’t sure what my 1 rep max is for these so I thought it’d be nice to lift heavier and see. I wanted to do 200+ but I didn’t have a spotter so I kept it at 180.

I was happy though my core was still strong enough to support the weight! It’s been almost a year since I had that much weight on my back!!! I will plug 180x6 into the 1 rep max calculator and use that figure

Saturday, Jan 30th- Box Squat Day!!

    Box Squats:
    85x10
    120x5
    150x5

Oh my god I forgot about you pm!!! So sorry, I will read it today It's getting better. I think I might have overstretched my glute because it hurts whenever I'm massaging it too hard. The feet suck but I think its the boots I got for christmas that's making them so bad, along with the running in the horrible no support boots I've been wearing at lunch.

So I stopped wearing those pretty Christmas boots and I put a pair of insoles in my winter boots. Then I stopped running and opted for gentle walking at lunch instead, and am doing lighter stretching and lighter massaging of my glute and it seems to be fading. It's funny- the rest week didn't help at all. Just made it cramp up way worse and lifting seems to make it feel better.

Also- the chair I sit in at work is awful so I'm trying to position myself better in it. I might bring in a cushion for the seat. Think it's a huge combination of things that made everything flare up worse than normal!!!

The glute and my feet are aching less often and my legs aren't falling asleep so much. So that's good, lol! But my feet are still paining. It's my own fault though, I need to invest in some good flat boots that look nice for work and better insoles for my winter ones.

Ok, so today was supposed to be deadlift day. They used to be my favourite but ever since I hurt myself doing them I haven’t been very comfortable adding them back in. The movement feels awkward ad I dislike them. So instead of doing conventional deadlifts, and since I can’t rig up rack pulls, I’ve decided to just go with RDL and add in good mornings.
This day originally called for deadlifts and front squats, plus core and hamstrings, but I wanted to do front squats on box squat day and do good mornings on this day as well. My whole back side could use the extra work anyway.
Found a sweet 5/3/1 app I downloaded on my phone so I never have to wonder about the calculations ever again

Tuesday, Feb 2nd – RDL Day!

    RDL:
    95x15
    115x5
    135x5
    150x10 (amap)

    Good Mornings:
    30x10
    50x10
    80x9
    80x8
    80x8
    80x8

    A1- G/H Raises:
    x10
    x10
    x10

    A2- Lower Back Extensions:
    +10x12
    +10x12
    BWx15

    A3- Ab Rollouts:
    x12
    x12
    x12

Just testing the waters with this workout, to see how my lower back/glute feels. Felt good but I am tight and achy so I’ll be focusing on lots of stretching! I have lifting fever Bench press day next

I will catch up on your journals this afternoon

Resting and recovering today! I am surprisingly not overly sore like I thought I would be from the last few workouts! Tomorrow morning I will get up and do bench day! It's incline bench day and I think it's with 75lbs...I'm re-doing week one on account of re-calculating my max and I think it's lower than I thought, lol, and I'd way rather start lower for my amap sets. Seems so low but I'm hoping to be able to smash out a good few reps

In other news, it's cold here now but there is no snow. It's all gone and there might not be more! So we probably won't get out skiing any more this year, lol!!!

The new place is AMAZING. We go to sleep, and then we wake up It's soooooo nice! Such a difference!

The new gym room is way better than the last! It's a bit squatty, and it's more of a rectangle so it's a bit awkward to set stuff up, but everything fits and there's a strip of floor for deadlifting and I can OH press ok

Life has been busy and time has been flying by WAY too fast. The weekends are jam packed and we have still been going on adventures! So time consuming to upload pics so I've been skimping on that!

But overall, life is great It occurred to me I haven't posted much in here except workouts, lol, but I am super happy and having a blast at the moment

Class is tomorrow night and on Friday night family is coming down to the house to celebrate mom's bday and I'm baking a cake! Saturday night we were invited out to a party but may not go because we have more fun staying in, haha!

Due to the new layout of the house/duplex (not really an apartment) I've been baking a lot more. I'm trying out some new protein treat recipes, like cinnamon protein cake! It's good!!!!

    Cinnamon Cake Bars

    • 1 ½ cup oat flour (540 cals, 9g pro/95g carbs/8g fat)
    • 2 scoops vanilla whey protein powder (300/4g carbs/70g pro/2g fat)
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • ¼ cup stevia
    • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1 egg (75 cals/7g pr/6g fat)
    • 1 cup almond milk (40 cals/3g carbs/4g fat)
    • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce (50 cals/11g carbs) (I used 3/4 cup)
    • ¼ cup plain greek yogurt (23 cals, 4.5g pro/3 g carbs)
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 tablespoons stevia + 1 teaspoon cinnamon, set aside

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8×8 pyrex or cake pan.
    2. Combine dry ingredients (first 7) in a large bowl.
    3. Combine remaining ingredients (except sugar + cinnamon) in a small bowl and whisk to combine.
    4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix until fully incorporated.
    5. Pour half the batter into the baking dish.
    6. Combine sugar + cinnamon and sprinkle half of the mixture over the batter until the entire surface is covered.
    7. Pour remaining batter on top and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
    8. Take a knife and gently swirl batter around to mix the cinnamon sugar topping into the cake.
    9. Bake for about 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
    10. Let cool in pan for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
    11. Wrap individually and store in refrigerator.

    Whole Recipe= 1028 cals, 90.5g protein, 116g carbs, 20g fat
    Approx. 16 squares= 64 cals per square, 5.6g protein, 7.25g carbs, 1.25g fat

Anyway, just figured I'd do a life update Happy Wednesday!

Mkay. No workout today cause I'm waiting on Stephen to heal, lol! We are doing 5/3/1 together cause it's the only way I can get him into the gym. Haha. I'll lift tomorrow now because I have class tonight and won't be home until late.

I did, however, bring my 80lb resistance band with me because I think it's calling for rain this afternoon so I might do a shoulders/biceps/rear delt workout at lunch rather than walking in the freezing rain And finish off with some stretching. If that happens I'll type it up later!

Still feeling icky, I swear I have this head cold or viral sinus infection that just keeps coming and going. It's driving me insane. Ugh. Pushing through but seriously, how long can something like that last for anyway!?

Editing this because I think it's allergies! Colds/sinus infections wouldn't irritate your eyes like this.....I really think it's allergies. It's been coming and going like flare ups. My eyes are itchy and my nose is drippy and my throat is scratchy. But the fatigue! Stupid allergies Now I'm just annoyed, lol. I've been reading and I'm thinking that's what it is. It's dry. The air is so dry.

    Happy Thursday! Tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Did a small workout at lunch time It was actually fun and the 80lb resistance band I have is really, really hard, lol!!!! It was way more challenging than I had anticipated. I did as many reps as I could and I didn’t get as many as I thought I would.

Thursday, Feb. 4th Random Upper !!!

    Upright Rows:
    80x13
    80x10
    80x11
    80x12

    Bicep Curls:
    80x15
    80x10
    80x12
    80x13

    Bent-Over Rows:
    80x10
    80x12
    80x12
    80x12

    Single Arm OH Presses:
    80x10
    80x10
    80x10
    80x10

So obviously it felt lighter than 80lbs. I’d say the single arm OH presses felt more like a 30lb db. Felt like curling a 30lb db as well! Rows felt harder though. Overall- pretty good! I am thinking since I’ll be home late tonight, I’ll sleep in tomorrow as much as I can and do bench tomorrow evening This might be a regular thing between workouts! Took about 30 minutes!
