Ok so I sort of crapped out and stopped lifting, lol! Was in serious need of some rest, I was feeling so burnt out! So I figured an early deload was ok Will figure out next few cycles and weights and all that in a few days. Not too concerned since I made some decent progress in these last few months!

Went on a hike yesterday for 4 hours! Was an absolute blast and we had a lot of fun! I have more pics too I might post if I get the chance. Will be back to catch up with you all later. Happy Monday!

Ok so I’m going to elaborate a little on the Life and Times of Turkey. Lol. So a lot has happened in the past few days. Cliffs are good.

    - Stephen’s pop passed away. He lived just a minute away from his parent’s house and they were taking care of him. He was old and died a peaceful death

    - Stephen was contacted by his previous employer with a job offer that pays literally double what he makes now

    - Job is a contract position and ends right when he’s going back to school in September

    - We are probably going to be renovating his pop’s house with the extra money and moving in within the next few months

    - Which means a bigger basement gym, some more equipment, and a lot of landscaping!

    - Also better hours. No more late evenings after work

    - Also shopping for an engagement ring soon

    - And for 5/3/1 I’m completely resetting my bench to 120lbs, OH presses will stay at 95lbs, rack pulls are 235 and Andersons are 215

    - Will carry on when the mood strikes me. Funeral is tomorrow. Will be sad.

    - Will start up 5/3/1 again in a few days. Probably Thursday or Friday. Letting myself rest until I’m bursting with energy, so whenever that day comes.

    - Funny how life changes so much from one day to the next.

Congrats Lori! Hope you find something you love!

I wish I lived in an area like yours. Jax and I would be hiking all the time. Today it was 111 degrees and a while lotta nope go in out side.

I'm sorry to hear about Stephens pop. My condolences to everyone.

Sorry to hear about Stephen's pop. Even at an advanced age and health problems, it's sad to lose someone you love. Great news though about the job, and the good changes coming your way though!

    Thanks Erica! Super excited!

I think I would die in that temperature. It's usually pretty cool around here for the most part, even when it's somewhat warm it's always windy and cold. It's rare to wear shorts and a tank top all day long, usually I have to change into pants cause it's always so chilly! I was actually full of goosebumps while we were fishing and had to get moving again to warm up.

Thank you. Sad times for sure.

So I've decided to start lifting again! lol! Getting restless and have too much pent up energy/frustrations I'm not used to having since I'm usually too tired to get worked up about much but I'm drove nuts here with life issues and people issues and dying to crush some weights!

So today will be the start of Cycle 7 of 5/3/1. I'm going to deload after the third week for every cycle so I don't burn out early this time And I'm probably going to try maxing out every third week too cause I think it will help.

Today is going to be OH Press day cause it's where I left off. Haven't done them now in a while. Today will be 70lbs for amap. Bench is being lowered like I said, scaling it way back to 120 1RM and working my way up on that. I really should be adding in incline DB presses because I feel like I'm lacking stability. The bar line is hard to keep steady and my wrists feel weak.

So I'm going to assess some of my weaknesses and change up some of my exercises for this cycle. I was finding as the weeks went on I was leaving out exercises and only half completing my workouts because I was lacking on the energy, so hopefully by deloading every 4th week I'll be able to keep my workouts strong and finish them this time!

    Happy Thursday!

Well I was fully planning on going home to lift but then this happened <3

Excuse me while I go cuddle this new kitty instead, lol!! I have no attention span for anything else today!

Our first kitten needed a friend cause we are gone so much. She looked lonely so I saw this kittle guy on kijiji and it was a spur of the moment kind of thing. Ahh, distractions!

OMG, I just got done reading Luna journal and her box full of kitties. I am happy times two.

And as far as your lifting cycles, That is how I run my weeks. I take two days off between sessions so my weeks are a bit longer.

Such a sweetie! He is rambunctious though, lol! They love to play together but where there is such a size difference Lil can be a bit rough and we have to separate them a lot. But then he just gets back up and goes over and attacks her, haha. Super amusing to watch

    Ahhh how exciting!

    Kittens are awesome

Do you? I was doing that in the beginning but somewhere along the way life kept getting in the way. I drink on the weekends and get hungover easy. Weekends are when we adventure a lot so I try to get them done before the weekend due to energy restraints. Stephen used to work on Saturdays and it freed up that day for me but now he's not and it's so busy and difficult to fit one in. I do agree though that two days between lifting is ideal! I'm much stronger when fully rested.

First workout back after a pretty long break!!! Did this one in the morning and despite me being a terrible morning workout person, it went really well!

    Monday! 5/3/1 Week 1, Cycle 7- Anderson Squats/Rack Pulls!

    Rack Pulls: 5 or more
    85x10
    115x5
    135x3
    160x5
    180x14 (PR!)

    Anderson Squats: 5 or more
    85x10
    110x5
    135x5
    145x15 (PR!)

    Single Leg RDL:
    85x11
    85x10
    85x11

Cut it a bit short as we went down to Stephenís pops house to pressure wash and scrape the paint off the outside. Ended up ripping up the carpets and gutting the closets and drawers. Was trying to get down there pretty early and we were just waiting out the rain.

Itís been busy with the kitten, I hosted a BBQ on Saturday, dad went into the hospital for surgery on his bowel (he will be ok though, but it was a scare at first cause we didnít know the severity of itÖDad has a hernia and a colostomy which complicates things), it was a crazy few days.

Shoulder tomorrow because on Friday the fishery opens and we are going cod fishing off the rocks Need my arm muscles for that, lol. Happy Monday!

It could be serious, I'm not quite sure but telling myself he will be ok. He is waiting on the surgery and it's supposed to take 4-5 hours. It's a pretty serious one.

Thanks, I hope I will catch lots, I'm so excited!!! Will post pictures of that adventure for sure!!!

Buying some paint today to paint Stephen's pop's house (don't know how else to reference it) so this weekend will consist of painting, cleaning, fishing, and tanning on the rocks Bench day will hopefully be Sunday! Or Saturday, wherever I can fit it in. I think it's calling for rain on Sunday so that will be a good day for lifting. Happy Thursday that's really Friday in Canada!! Woooo long weekend!

Wow, double digits in the AMRAPs is serious business! nice job! I always love your choice of accessories, fun, but still challenging.

Soo jealous of new kitty!!! too cute to handle and he sounds like a handful! Have fun this weekend - that sounds exhausting - but being outside is the best.

Well this weekend was crazy busy. We spent a lot of time renovating the house, we painted and scrubbed the walls and landscaped and cleaned. It was a lot of work! I did try benching on Saturday but my poor arms were ready to fall off. I did my bench press of 95lbs x10 and called it a day. I was super weak and my wrists were gone and it just wasn’t fun.

Today is leg day! And oh my, I started with the wrong weight on Andersons. I increased those, so I was like “why am I using the same weight as the last cycle?” Then I realized it wasn’t supposed to be 145, but 165 So today is calling for 175 so I’m just gonna go for it, lol! Only gotta get 3 Aiming for 10, hahaha! Happy Monday!

Kittens are the cutest EVER! Little dude is super quiet and low maintenance, pretty awesome

    Thanks!

Dad is going in for surgery on Wednesday. It's taking that long.

    No Feesh

Yes, was ok while the weights were light, gets harder though the heavier they are. Was planning on taking deloads sooner once they got heavy

Thanks! Still very limited in equipment Dumbbells are my favourite and sadly I only have 35's plus the adjustable ones but they are big and bulky cause I have to use my Olympic plates with those, lol! So for now being creative is good!

He's a sweetie <3 So glad the other older kitten gets along with him so well! She takes care of him so we barely have to, haha!

Summertime is when we spend the most time outside. Fall is when I crack down on the lifting, lol!

Ok, so legs and rack pulls were yesterday. Did Andersons at 165x4 and Rack pulls with 190 for 8 or 9 reps(can't remember) Wasn't feeling strong, felt weird. Like all day my stomach felt icky and I had no energy. Felt kind of stomach flu-ish for the past few days. So I took it easy and just got my reps in. I figure I'll just carry on the with andersons and do 175xamap next week and then call that cycle done.

Still not feeling the best but I'll get my OH Presses in today with 75xamap. Then bench will be on Sunday. Hoping to crush the weights big time next week! Feeling all out of sorts here with the different work schedule (up earlier, less time to get ready in the mornings, more evening prep) moving, cleaning, money issues while we are waiting for Stephen's first paycheck which is about 4 weeks away cause they hold one on him, dad's going in for surgery today, etc.

Lots on my mind and lots to do. I miss lifting and working up a good sweat and my weekends have been taken up with the house stuff so no outdoor adventures and feeling icky so not much lifting. No endorphins to make my mood happy, lol! Ahh life.

    Happy Wednesday!

Awesome job on the OHP! I've had workouts where I feel like complete shyte and I just bust it out to have it in the books. Hope you feel better!
Wishing for a safe surgery for you dad and speedy recovery

The new kitty sounds way too cute. Glad the two get along so well!
If this were easy, everyone would walk around ripped.

Yeah missing the adventures but we are getting lots done with the house

Thanks, it went well! So far he's ok, just really sore. He went home on Sunday so now he is just taking it easy and trying to recover.

Thank you! Most of the time I do too but sometimes the motivation is just not there and I don't care enough, lol!!! Or so tired that I fall asleep while I'm lifting and can't even hit my numbers. I am going to make the effort to complete this cycle with more oomph though, lol!! Getting back on track here now

Thanks! I think he's ok, he's in lot of pain but that's to be expected.

They are so cute! I'm finding it hard to bond with the little guy though, he has the attention span of a two year old, lol! I try to pet him and he's like "Oh! A wall!" and goes and runs into it. Hahahaha. He's just so young!! The two are absolutely adorable together though I think he thinks she's his mother.

Mkay, been a bit of a slacker lately. We are moving and have been busy with the house, and so our current house is up to your eyeballs. The gym room is a bit of a mess and it’s already so cluttered so it’s pretty unmotivating. Dying to have our basement gym up and running already! Dying for some space.

Anyway, I did all of my workouts for week 1 of cycle 7 but decided to repeat this week since I missed a few days and screwed up the weight on Andersons. My cell phone broke so I can’t update nearly as often now either until I get a new one.

5/3/1- Monday, Week 1, Cycle 7- OH Press Day!

Seated OH Press: 5 or more
    35x10
    45x5
    55x5
    70x10 (PR!)

    A1- Jammers:
    +25x16
    +40x15
    +40x15
    +40x14

    A2- Hanging Knee Raises:
    x25
    x21
    x20
    x20

    B1- Meadows Rows:
    +30x10
    +25x12

B1- Hammer Grip Rows (with 1 DB)
    60x15
    60x16
    60x13
    60x6

    C1- DB Curls:
    35’sx8
    30’sx9
    30’sx9

    C2- Kickbacks:
    10’sx12
    10’sx14

    Resistance Band Pushdowns:
    100lbs x13
    100lbs x12

This felt great, was really missing my wokrouts!!!! Legs/Rack Pulls on Wednesday!
