Cool Champion by 2017 Crew - Get in here for Self Improvement Gains

Welcome brahs. For all of you who used to be on top of life, or never were and want to be, please join us in completely conquering 2016. A lot of you miscers could use the positive support and spend more time in non-toxic misc threads.

    Guidelines:
    • List out 5-10 goals you want to accomplish at some part in 2016 that will bring you closer to the individual you wish to be.
    • Put down actionable steps you can take, no BS motivation chit. Real goals with real action.
    • Report in from time to time on your progress.
    • If your goals are overwhelming, it's OK to scale back and focus on a few or to modify them. We can't always do everything and still have an enjoyable life.
    • For those of you who take me up on this I will add your username to the list below and rep you when I can.
    • Feel free to utilize the self improvement crew thread for motivation/progress (link below), but list out your goals here. Suggestions? Post them.
    • Please refrain from bashing and negativity. We're all here to help each other.

    My 2016 goals:
    1) Wake up at 4:58am each work morning and 8am latest on weekends. - Will start with a time (8:00am) and wake up 10min earlier each week. Using this bad boy to get my blood going in the morning. Arrived yesterday.

    2) Join a professional network outside of my workplace. Network with people from different industries.
    - Will scan meetup.com mid spring latest and start attending.
    3) Start a networking skill based org within my company.
    - Already in discussion to make this happen.
    4) Slow bulk to gain 10-15 pounds (165-170 lbs.)
    - Eat more and weigh myself biweekly keeping a spreadsheet starting tomorrow upon wakeup.
    5) Limited pron/masturbation.
    - Will keep a tracker to do this as infrequently as possible. If I view pron, it can only be passionate lovemaking. Nothing hardcore that will fuark with my mind. Whenever I follow this both my motivation and hunger for life increases.
    6) Write down 5 things I'm grateful for and 10 ideas each day in a journal.
    - Will reflect other times through the day. Google James Altucher 10 ideas for more info.
    7) Spend at least a half hour reading each day.
    8) Create a blog about something I'm interested in.
    - Purchased domain and to scale up to writing at least 4 articles/videos a month by April.
    9) Learn to code and eventually start a side project.
    - Scaling up to 5 hours a week starting with codeacademy python lesson beginning the upcoming week. If I lose interest after 3 months I will drop this goal.
    10) Do something exciting with my SO each week.
    - Go out, cook, hike. Etc. Do not let life get dull.
    Bonus goal:
    11) Pay off 20k student debt.
-Currently 40k in debt. To become debt free in 2017 and possibly quit my job then. End goal to get on dat dere self employed life (not in 2016 though)

In on this, I don't think I'll be a champion in 2017 but I won't rule out 2018, I have alot of work to do.
    1)Complete 1st 5K in under 29 min
-4 45 min runs per week until 3 weeks before 5K avg 5 miles. Have already completed C25K in October, going to get weighted vest too. Three weeks before run 5k 5x a week and take 3 days off before comp and get it done. Also do alot of cycling and can run 5 miles in 41 min(end of december).
2)1000 lb club in under a year-by March 1st. 10 lbs on deadlift and 30 lbs on squat. Just keep with program/training,
3)405 deadlift, current 375, I deadlift at least once a week and do heavy hip/glute work, don't see why it's not gonna happen next year.
4)180 BW-keep dialing in nutrition, find a full time job to be more active, spend 25 hours a week of solid training. Keep in caloric deficit
5)11%BF-by bf calculator, gain knowledge and do what it takes to lean out. After reaching 1000lb club will not care anymore about pr's and can sacrifice strength for leanness.
6)Financially self-sufficient, get 2 part time jobs and work up to where I can afford my rent/bills on my own and start paying back debt. Whatever it takes.
    7)Complete Spartan Sprint-sign up.

Those are some great objectives you have there. I want to be careful and not make to many new years resolutions, trying and change things too much, too quick, the added stress usually works against you.
But, i see that you have been working in some changes prior to this last few days, so props. That's the same thing i have been doing.

Still reluctant to make a list, lol.

Brah you don't have to attack all of them now, just have a plan to get to them later in the year. Pick a few now and make edits later. Just throw down something now or else you'll always play the game of thinking and planning about it. I'm not attacking ALL of mine this second.

Currently work/internship at a company. I'm supposed "learn" there and get my college degree with tests simply said.
    so
    1. Get more paid, currently get $10 per day because they have to teach they me everything. Goal is minimum loan this year.

    2. Workout consistently, just build a small home gym so that will be much easier now for me.

    3. Learn more about investing. Right now investing in stocks but want to learn more about options etc.

    4. Make more small programming projects, right now learning more about HTML and CSS even though I started with C#. At the company I work on ASP.Net web apps. Still thinking about what I can make right now, don't have that much knowledge to make big things on my own. (adding things is quite easy for me but building a foundation is still hard)

    5. NoFap and NoPorn. Right now only did it once a week max but I need to get off it completely.

    6. Workout 1.5 per week instead of 1 time only. 2 times is a little too much right now tho.

    7. Eat as much as plant based foods as possible. Sometimes pizza isn't an issue tho.

Goals are great brahs, but just do it, and enjoy the process. We are all gonna make it if we work for it brahs!

Read and study for an hour each day: gotta be smart to rule the world

Gonna run a 5k: Never built up to this but have always wanted too

IF: Gonna fast and get a good diet going

write everyday: Gonna dedicate some time every night to writing in a journal. Can be anything.. a book, ideas, deer diary

Learn new skills: I want to take up guitar, carpentry and a few other skills. gonna start off by buying a guitar and practicing

Man, I already had it made. I was who I had always wished I'd be.
Due to a ridiculous past 3 years of my life, everything got flipped upside down. Gf left me, left my job, business on the side folded due to co founder, family death, repossessions. Got depressed and eventually stopped doing the daily things that I indentified with as me being myself. I wasn't showing up to life. Basically swited myself off. Less frequent touch with friends and lost touch with work connections.. Lived life from the bottom of a bottle for a few months. Out of hibernation now though. Had my time to greive for what has been lost. I had it all, now its gone. Eaten my humble pie, learned some valuable lessons about self and the neutrality of life..now its time to go again!!!

2016 is the year I get back into gear. Then 2017 shall be the year I start making it all back.

As for goals this year. Just going to try and do what I did when I was crushing life before.

    1. Going travelling to Asia, AUS, SA, and America in a couple of months, so plan and enjoy that

    2. Set bed and rise times. 10pm bed, read 30 mins then sleep. Wake 6am.

    3. Cardio every morning before I start my day. 1hour weights 6/7 days p/w. The aim is to get my lifts and physique back the where they were with slightly better conditioning.

    4. Continue independent learning. 2 topics per month. 1 hour study per day minimum.

    5. Conscious focus on improving social network in the real world, not online.

    6. Daily meditation practice. Generally be more conscious to my life. Do not numb my mind by zoning out in front of TV or computer. Be present.

    7. Increase fruit and veg intake.

    8. Improve the vibe I give off, it was tinged with a depressive tone whilst in the midst of the turmoil, and its become habitual, so I know I need to focus consiously on my tonality

    9. Research career positions for when I return from travelling, and decide on the area I want to move in to. Then later in the year, apply and start working.

Probably more but that'll do for now.

Gunna be a good year brahs, I can feel it.

Not brand new goals but I intend to get them done this year.

    1. Get a couple certifications for the field I want to work in. Already have the study material and slowly studying. Need to pick up the pace if I can

    2. Finish school strong. I have 6 months left and was getting burnt out last quarter. I need to manage how hard im working and make time for myself so I dont get burnt out.

    3. Travel. Already have a huge 3 month trip planned. Almost done saving for it

    4. Meditate. This is one thing I used to do before the gym. It was a daily routine. Up at 5am, meditate for a good 30-45 mins. Off to the gym. I need to get back in this routine of starting my day off strong. I had some rough times and fell out of almost all of my best habits and I need to get in the routine of doing them again.

    6. Enjoy life. I often spend too much time stressed, anxious, or whatever and get so caught up in my future that I forget to enjoy the present moment. I just had a break from school and went on a family vacation and really enjoyed the present moment with my family. Had a great time and plan to do things like this more often. I feel like meditation will also help me with this goal but I plan to set aside time to go do things I enjoy rather than making the excuse that im too busy.

A lot of little things that add up and make a difference.

Positive mindset, always thinking of new and different perspectives when people come to me with problems or complaints, distancing myself from negative people, setting goals and consistently following through making it a habit to accomplish my goals, effective time management (there was some thread about how much time we actually waste and how it can be utilized a while back. Like when you have those weird like 30 min gaps between stuff and you do nothing because you feel its not enough time. Or getting in the routine of getting on fb or misc every time you get on the computer burning like 30 mins every time, etc.)

There are more but you get what im saying. Positive mindset and consistently having a different perspective and positive twist to peoples problems made me someone who people enjoyed and wanted to be around. I was positive and very confident and people knew it. Some things happened and I was pretty down for a while so I just need to get back to where I was.

Distancing myself from negative people also made me more positive. Law of attraction. Put yourself around people who have drive and want to succeed and if you slip up they will be there to motivate you back up.

Making it a habit to follow through on my goals, small or big, made it so it was just natural for me to follow through and not give up. It made me feel good to accomplish my goals and made me strive to set higher goals and challenge myself.

and effective time management made it all come together. Not wasting 30 mins watching tv or on the computer and trying to utilize my time made it so I could get a lot more done in the day. Brb 30 mins a day burned because you have a weird gap after lifting until class starts or something. After a week it adds up to 3.5 hours wasted. A month it adds up to 14 hours. Thats a lot of time that could be used more effectively.

I see. Yes, I agree we all can be more positive and manage our time better. I have the same story as you, used to be more confident, in control. We're going to get it back.
