20 years old. Brother got me into lifting especially after showing me a zyzz video. Mothers coworker gave us a full gym set. Barbells, dumbells up to 80. Bench, Squat rack. I have been lifting on and off for 8 years. Gaming 6-12 hours a day made me ectomorph. For anyone saying genetics, it's fking BS. If you don't put a load on your bones and muscles, there will be no reason for them to grow!!! Also, no fap god.
6' 170 lb however most of the weight is on my lower back, and legs.

Hello! My name is Emily. I used to be very active, and even then I was a little overweight, but about 6 years ago I got very depressed and gained over 100 pounds in two years. I tried to go back to the gym, but the anxiety made it terrifying and I couldn’t do what I remember doing when I was athletic and it makes me feel ashamed. I want to change, so starting tomorrow I’m cutting out the ****ty food I eat and I’m going to try my best to start going back to the gym. (Also tips to get over gym anxiety are appreciated)

Hey everyone. I'm a 26 year old NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Behavior Change Specialist from the state of Louisiana. Prior to receiving my certification I'd been working out for roughly a decade. Using my knowledge I have managed to overcome both obesity and injury.
Once upon a time, my goal was to get huge. I used free weights for years and got quite strong. My new goal, however, is to be fit in general. My personal routine consists of a mixture of progressive calisthenics, yoga, some free weights, running, and high-intensity interval training.

Hey thought I would introduce myself after lurking for a while.
I am really interested in putting on weight and muscle currently 6'1 and around 160lbs, a long way to go but new gym within walking distance is opening near me so think this is a good time to start.
I have been skinny most my life and want to change that just want to try my best to do it right along with sharing my progress
Unsure on certain things such as how long to bulk for and when to cut but guessing I can find that on here somewhere

I forgot I had an old Bodybuilding account and decided to return because I thought I'd do a "New Year's Resolution" like everybody else. My account isn't that old, but it was made in a time when I didn't know what Reddit was. I don't think Reddit was as relevant back then as it is today. So instead of going to some fitness subreddit, I came here.
It's 2020 now. I've been to Reddit and back, I think it's time for Bodybuilding.com to reclaim its dominance from Reddit. This is the decade.

Hi there!
Hey, Im Mikey. Im new to this thing and I want to try my best. Im 17, 6 ft and around 230 lbs. I want to get down to around 200 lbs and get 6 pack abs and build up endurance and stamina. Im very strong, but I have flabby arms (I have great triceps, but my biceps are nonexistant). I ran cross country, but the season is over. I have fat thighs, but rock hard calfs. I hope this experience is worth it. Any tips would be appriciated.

Goal weight 180#. Been lifting correctly for about a year, did I dirty bull and now regret it. Put on about 30 pounds.
Go to profile for pics (I know I look like **** that's why Im here)

Hey all, my name is Jessica and I'm 27 . I want to get fit and healthy this year, I'd say I'm slim but want to get more toned. Have no idea where to start, wish I had listened to my ex bf who was massively into bodybuilding. Since we split I've stopped going to the gym, haven't gained weight but need to tone up I guess. Looking for positive inspiration and anyone willing to help (from wherever and in whatever way). I think I can make a success of getting toned if I have motivation and enjoy making new friends out this. xx

Hi everybody
Hi, my name is Amber. I'm 30 years old and I desperately need to lose 20-30lbs of body fat. I recently killed my thyroid through radiation and am now on synthroid and I went from 140lbs to 160lbs. I have tried limiting calories, eating less, eating healthier/natural options etc and I have gained more than I lost.
Honestly I am worried I am going to be 200lbs again. I'm afraid as when I used to work out everyday for 2-3 hrs of constant moving, I gained more bodyfat And had to buy bigger and bigger and bigger clothes.
From experience, I could be on the same diet and exercise plan and someone else to the T and as 1 person would lose bodyfat. I would gain what they lost. I just hope I can lose some weight.

Question
He’ll, I’m 21 and recently started exercising and noticed that I have really bad genetics in just about every part of my body. So the question is from an evolutionary stand point what would the reason for short insertions on arms and chest be? What help could it possibly give? Also this has discouraged me immensely since I don’t want to look deformed when my muscles get larger

Howdy all, doesn't look like this thread gets much traction anymore but since I'm new I'll go ahead and post.
46 YO male, 6ft tall. 15 years ago I gained a ton of weight after dating/marriage and weighed as much as 310lb, I slowly dropped it down to 270 but 7 months ago decided I didn't want diabetes, high BP or heart disease. I've been working out 5-7 days a week using P90, 21 Day Fix and counting calories using Myfitness pal. I'm down 42 lbs to 228 and stuck in a plateau for the last 3 weeks. As the weather is nicer I've been going on almost daily bike rides and my fitbit is recording more steps and calorie burn now that I'm out doing yard work again so hopefully the plateau breaks soon. At the best shape I've ever been in I was skating every day and weighed about 180 so that's my current target weight.
With all the exercise my BP has dropped to normal and with the advise of my Dr. I'm no longer taking BP medication. My resting HR has dropped from 80 to 62 and my panel results all look good.
Looking for advice and motivation from this board.

What's up everyone? Getting my first post in.
Started working out seriously with my roommate about 3 weeks ago, been lurking on here since about that time. I'm a 30 y/o guy, height 5'9 weighing 167 lbs maybe ~14% bf. Want to get down to 160 or 155 in the next few months before bulking through winter.
Been eating well, cooking all my own meals since covid19 lock-down. Going to start weighing, meal prepping, and tracking everything I eat. Will probably start a log soon. Feel free to message me, will post some pics on bodyspace.
Excited to get the body I've always wanted. More committed and disciplined than ever before.

Hello everyone, my name is Camilla and I'm here to make my body perfect. Thanks to the article I read to someone here on your site and forum, I’m sure I will succeed. Wish me good luck and achieve my goal soon. I would like to meet like-minded people here.
Here is some information about me. I love spending free time outdoors with my family. I want to buy a house in the near future, have two children and a dog. This is my dream from childhood, a dog named lucky, husband, two-story house and children) I am not married yet and therefore I decided while there is time that I can spend personally on myself, I need to use it and greet my body in perfect order.Last edited by Samiro7; 06-10-2020 at 12:17 AM.
