But if that's the case, given the way gaming is today, they will charge us for each part separately.

This is the kinda thing that 6-12 months down the line, SE will pull a FF versus 13 and decide to revamp the whole game and hold back the release another X amount of years.

I'm already way ahead of you on that one. The recent trailer hyped me to maximum levels, but then that news came along (the "multi-part"/episodic bullchit) and completely K.O.'d me and my hype. I feel like I've had "Knight Of The ****ing Round" summon used on me in real life. Overkilled.

7 was my least favourite out of the '7 majors' (6,7,8,9,10, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger), but still absolutely loved it.

8 will always be special to me because it was my first real FF experience and happened at a time where the game had a lot of parallels to my life at the time.
TFW having your first adolescent crush at the same time as Squall meeting Rinoa
TFW when coming out of your 'childhood' shell and realising there's a whole world out there
TFW developing key relationships with new people

No other game (except Everquest and vanilla/TBC WoW) drew me in like FFX though.

Played the shyt out of the original as a kid, never even knew it was a popular game until I started going on game sites/forums like 10 years later lol. Surprised they changed the combat system but I am glad they did.

Tbh i want to hold judgement before i bash SE. Id rather have 3 games with huge explorable worlds with sidequests and chit than 1 game with really linear worlds because they had to cram it all together before deadline aka FF13.

But im not ruling out the possibility theyll just try to completely fuk everyone over like konami

I lost interest in RPGs the moment they started putting graphics above gameplay and storyline. Not everything has to look like a real-life movie.

I would gladly take a FF game with old-style "cartoony" graphics if the overall quest was 3-4 times longer and you could create/customize at least two dozen characters.

Never played the original. Don't know **** about this game. Love RPGs and will play this no matter what. It being broken up into episodes doesn't really bother me.
