Yeah its a requirement. Dot helmet, leather suit (one or two piece that has a 360 zipper, boots, gauntlet gloves and a back protector. Most suits probably come with back protectors built in which might just be a piece of foam or a upper end model suit will probably have a higher quality one but Id say a good majority of riders have a second detached one they put on as well.

Was about to say "get an outside picture" before you added the second one. Plan on leaving the front fender red? Did you just put the clear on without wet sanding/buffing like you mentioned originally? I bet you could probably buff without wet-sanding almost and it would flatten out some orange peel anyways with that drag from the buffer.
Feels good to be done with paint.
Have you had this one out at the track? If so or if not, when are you taking it next/

gonna try and hit Summit Point sometime in July. Unfortunately, all my buddies have supermotos and like doing the short, more technical course (which i dont like). And yea i completely forgot about the front wheel fender so I just said fukk it and left it red haha. I also never addressed the orange peel. I just didnt see the point when Im probably gonna crash at some point this season lol

Looks good! But paint that fender if you have any paint left over. I was glad when mine was done. Needed a lot more clear but i said fuk it. How did you shape your seat pad? Cut it out off the bike or on? And did you sand the edges or something to round them?

The fender would honeslty lok better even if you rattle canned it black.

Left a Steak & Shake around 2:30am on my way home from 2 organized rides yesterday and a car hesitated until we were almost IN the intersection and then cut us off. I don't know how I didn't go down it had just dewed and my front and back locked up as I was sliding into the car still. Immediately became absolutely livid and turned to chase them, which I'd never reached that point on a bike before in my 6 seasons of riding streets. Ended up going too fast and they got scared and stopped so as I swung for their mirror I missed. Started to block the lane so they couldn't pass, but started coming to my senses knowing there were multiple people in the car. My buddy laid his 2016 R6 down with 1,200 miles which I didn't know at the time. If I would have had any idea I would have kept chasing and stopped them. Luckily he was okay and the bike just got a little rash.

Dealer wouldn't stop being a kunt so i gave up on the enduro (next closest dealer is 250 miles). Looks like I might go back to an all street bike. Found a good deal, at least i think on a leftover 2016 fz-09. They're asking $5999. I never owned a street bike personally but I've ridden and worked on multiple friends R6, R1, fZ-07 etc. Gonna keep the quad for now as well. As always, any thought from you expert riding bruhs? Get the 16 or wait for them to get a 17 and get that instead?

I don't know much about the fz09's but a few other members had been talking about them in the past here. Maybe someone else will chime in. Is the 17 an updated version? I think it would come down to if they updated it and how much of a gap in price there is between the leftover 16 and the 17 that would help me make my decision.
What kind of BS was the dealer pulling?

I haven't compared the two as Im not sure how many dealers have the 17 around here but i will look into it. I think they cost around $8999 for the 17.
The dealer offered me 2k for my quad which was 1k less than its worth but they gave me a good OTD price on the enduro so i wasnt too upset. Said i'd put 1000 down if they threw in a helmet ($185) and just a normal riding jersery not a jacket. The guy said they can give me a 20% discount on them, so I figured cool better than nothing. Then at the last minute they tried to pull some bs that they left some things out of the original assessment of my quad. Battery (just bought one there a week prior for it and busted out the receipt), handlebars (brand new fly racing bars on there), grips, (has brand new odi longneck grips), and a service (just had it serviced two months ago to prepare for the sale and havent ridden it since). Somehow that added up to 800 dollars (OEM pricing im sure) and they wanted me to put that down to cover those costs. I just walked out and said no thanks.
The dealer with the FZ already offered 3k on my quad and said i'd more than likely get 0% financing and nothing down if i use the same lender as before. I'd also get 50% off on a helmet/jacket for a 4th of july sale they're having.Pittsburgh

looks like the 17 has a slipper clutch, adjustable traction control, led headlight, abs, adjustable front fork and a slightly different styling.
might say fukk the 16 if i can get a good deal.Pittsburgh

I'd go for a 17 if buying new. 16 and older I'd find a used one. I see them pretty frequently around here on the used market in good shape and low miles.

Buying a new one definitely the 2017: better suspension, snatchy throttle sorted out, slipper/assist clutch, more aggressive looking IMO.
What sucks is that these FZ models sell and there is not a lot of dealing on them. If you can find a 2016 leftover for a good price I would take a long look at it. They are pretty good bikes overall, and the bottom end is pretty insane.rumpler of stiltskins
