finally got my new part in. taking it off the bike and assembling the part on were easy. when i put everything back on the bike, the problems started to show. the lever itself wasnt straight anymore. the thin rod under the lever was bent too. wouldnt clear for proper shifting. had to hammer the lever to bend it back and straighten the rod thingy. everything works again.

There was a crashed 2015 zx10r for sale on one of those apps. Told the guy I would be interested in taking a look. Could of bought the bike for less than the motor would be worth. I had to go out of town that day so he sold it while I was gone. Got a message about some of the stock zx10r parts I had for sale off my track bike build. Guy that bought the bike bought the shifter rearset from me. Think he has some bigger problems.

my bike hasnt been riden in about 10 days or so. started it up today and looked at the sight glass. the oil is coffee with milk brown. im not sure how that happened. last oil change was done in september ish and i didnt ride that much miles. did the freezing temps and snow mess with it? moisture/water in the oil?

The oil should be green or red in color.

Its pretty normal for it to look like somebody jizzed in your sight glass.
Condensation gets in. If you're really worried then run your engine for 10 minutes and dump a litre of oil and see what it looks like.

Oil is a personal thing and theres no "rules" on when and why you should be changing it, so its important to check it often and make your own decisions.
You will know when your oil has had it.

man. its coming in droves now. i cant start the bike up. you put the key in the ignition switch and it wont turn. been messing and fiddling around for 30 minutes. cant get it to turn. i even tried putting the key in the gas tank and i found out the key wont even go all the way in. like just sticks out. i hope its just frozen and not someone fooking up my bike. it was just hours before riding around too.

Sounds like you have a kawasaki or similar, get some RP7 or Wd40 and fill the locks up with it.

A new tank is like $1200 so I'm just gonna weld the fuker and have it be my spare and save up for an endurance tank (~2k). i tried wd40 and all it did was make the key go in and out smoother. no luck. i researched around last night and this morning i put alcohol in a spray bottle. yes vodka. i sprayed some in the key hole and turned it and no luck. sprayed some more and it turned in less than a minute. it was frozen and alcohol is pretty much a de-icer.
