My wife complains about my snoring sometimes. I've tried the Breathrite strips and the did not help at all. After I actually read the package though, I wasn't surprised.
However, I've also used a product called Theravent which did help. It's kind of like a band-aid you cover your nostrils with. It creates positive air pressure (similar to a c-pap machine). They do take a little bit to get used to, but they have helped me. I don't wear it every night, but if my wife mentions me snoring the night before, I'll put one on for a few nights.
Those and a good pillow......

My husband is a snorer too. Drives me crazy! I haven't found anything that works except what has been mentioned in this thread already - kicking, hitting, putting the pillow over his head (not trying to suffocate him though, lol.) My daughter has a queen-sized bed to herself and when the snoring gets too bad, I move into her room (which means moving 8,000 stuffed animals to make room but it's better than the snoring.) I think my husband has sleep apnea but he is too stubborn to go get it checked out.

My husband snores nonstop and so loud! He is suggested by a small surgery by Short term braces near Houston. First, he was afraid about the surgery. But through counselling, he got confidence and now he is prepared for it. I think sleep apnea treatment will help you. In some cases, snoring can be corrected by mouth appliances.

I use to snore
I use to snore to the point that me and my wife are not sharing beds already. Now, I'm not sure if your husband breathes through his mouth a lot but that's probably the reason he is snoring also in his sleep. I'm like that.
Try using the StopSnoringAustralia anti snore patch, it's like a band-aid that you can place around the chin so whenever your husband sleeps, his mouth will not hung open and snore also waking up with dry mouth.
