Chipotle closes 43 restaurants in E. coli breakout
http://www.nola.com/business/index.s...staurants.html
Chipotle has closed 43 of its chain restaurants in Washington and Oregon because of an E. coli bacteria outbreak, ABC News reported Sunday (Nov. 1).
Health officials in both states were investigating cases of E. coli that appeared to be linked to the restaurant chain: three people were sickened in Oregon and at least 19 in Washington, a third of whom were hospitalized, according to the report.

sounds like one of their local suppliers had some contaminated product. i think one thing about their business model is that they don't have as much of a problem with other fast food restaurants where all the product is coming from a warehouse; contamination isn't as far reaching.
i almost finished 2 chipotle burritos in one sitting back in high school; don't think i could subject myself to that kind of punishment anymore...Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

No Chipotles near me anymore anyways; I will be sticking with the local Mom and Pop shops... do still like Chipotle though.

Chipotle is apparently anti-gun. So.. i'd rather eat sand then support them anyway.

THE BAD CHIPOTLE NEWS ISN'T OVER: THE FEDS ARE DIGGING DEEPER NOW
https://www.thrillist.com/news/natio...gation-expands
The subpoena, dated January 28th, requires Chipotle to hand over documents and other information related to food safety across the entire company dating back to January 1, 2013, instead of just the single location. Chipotle said it will fully cooperate with the investigation, which is being conducted by the Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Criminal Investigations.
The earnings report also illustrates the enormous dent the food-borne illness scares put in Chipotle's business in the fiscal quarter that ended Dec. 31, 2015. When compared to the same quarter in 2014, Chipotle's restaurant sales dropped by 14.6% and its revenue decreased 6.8% to $997.5 million, and worse yet, its net income for the quarter was $67.9 million, or a decrease of 44%.

Wonder if this will be the killing blow for Chipotle.
