I am 9 weeks out from my first powerlifting competition and I was planning to use Candito's 6 week strength program to prep
but I got a question...
on the 6th week of canditos.. it says either you deload or find your new 1RM.
should I use the the 6th week for the competition ?
or deload on the 6th week and compete on the 7th week.
and another question.
should the singlet be really tight, snug or a little loose ?

meets typically land on saturdays so use the 6th week (the week of the meet) to deload and recover in order to utilize your peaked strength the program was designed to develop. I ran this before my last meet in case you were wondering so I'm not just guessing.
id go snug, too tight will be uncomfortable and not be fun to wear while lifting but honestly its personal preference and the material of the singlet makes a difference. the inner singlets for example aren't as elastic and aren't comfortable when they are too tight, this might not be the case with the more elastic material.

IMO keep things as light and easy as possible that week. Do some easy sets to get warmed up and stretch etc. Maybe hit a single that you know you can easily do on Monday and then end the day. You could even take the week off if needed. Keep in the back of your head that you're saving your energy and CNS for the meet, not for a few days before the meet!You rock a piss, I'm gonna rock some Mitchell
