I cant take Mag Oxide that is hands down the worst and it causes cramping for me like my body cant absorb it so it stays in the intestine or something, and this why I dont take most multivitamins because they almost all contain the oxide form.

Magnesium citrate pills is good but it makes me take massive dumps in the morning. Its good if you are backed up. I took the Puritan Pride brand.

So three weeks ago i was in "Whole Paychecks" shopping for a few items and decided to walk down the supp aisle. I had been reading about how everyone was supposed to be low on Mag and decided wtf, lets try it out. Low and behold it was on sale for 19.99 (Solgar chelated) so the idea seemed even more appealing. What can i say after 3 weeks...... more flushing of water, less tired, more natural energy late into the day, muscles feel hard/tight all the time.

I would say this stuff is a keeper.. and YES i know i should have done blood work first!

Mag oxide gives me horribles diahrrea, while other forms don't.
MANY people here could say the same.
Oxide is one of the worse, probably the worst form.

Hands down the worst, Oxide is very bad, you can't absorb it so it makes your intestines spasm or get cramped causing you have diarrhea.

I don't take multivitamins becuase most of them use the oxide form.

Citrate works as a laxative, but Oxide is the worst for me, its especially bad for people with inflammatory bowels, it will cause a flare up

Citrate is the best bang for your buck. I take 600mg every night before bed. No GI issues whatsoever.

The best if you are constipated as well, Oxide shouldn't even be on the market anymore that stuff is horrible.

Thanks for this. These are exactly the three magnesium’s I am after.
L-threonate is good for your brain
Taurate is good for your heart and blood glucose.

Thanks, for sharing this. Looks like something I will want to try. I am just weary of L-Threonate as apparently, you need very high doses of 1500-2000 mg per day as your kidneys get rid of it pretty fast.

Plus, sleep deprivation might also alter levels of hormones that control hunger and appetite.
