Eva's 2nd Meet
Here is a quick video of Eva's gymnastics meet this weekend. We expected her to do better than her last meet which was only a month ago. She not only got medals in all 4 events, but won the overall for her division too. We were obnoxiously proud of her and it was awesome!
Granny
My parent's watched Eva's meet with us and got a call during the medal ceremony. Granny was not doing well and they had to rush back to her nursing home. My Granny passed almost to the minute that my little girl won the all around. I always wished that my Granny could see Eva at a gymnastics meet, I think in some way she did. She was a great loving, positive influence in my life and I will keep her memory alive with my kids. At 92 she was still playing cards weekly for hours at a time and had a pretty great life. It will be hard to move on but I know she was ready to move on and feel confident she is with God now. It will be hardest on my mom and her brother who's whole life revolved around taking care of her. We will all miss her and love her.

PERSONAL GROWTH
So my Granny passing has had an impact on me. I decided to be more social and take risks in an effort to face my fears. I have issues talking to people I do not know. Today I took a risk and it was a good experience. I saw this woman at the gym who for the last month or so has been bald. I assumed it was cancer. I walked up to her and nervously had this conversation.
Me: I don't mean to be rude but are you going through cancer?
Tara: No. I am going through something with my health though and they cannot figure out what is wrong with me. My hair is falling out. I am allergic to my husband and it is also affecting my mouth.
Me: Sorry to hear that. Would you mind if I had your name so I could pray for you.
Tara: My name is Tara and could you do it right now (she reached out for my hand)
Me: (awkward as hell) I do not typically pray in front of people but here it goes, God please help heal Tara and help the doctors and medical team find out what is going on so she can regain her health. Amen
It was an oddly moving moment for me. I am sure the emotions dealing with my grandma's passing are part of it, but I plan on putting myself out there like this more.

I had tears in my eyes reading this. God bless your granny and if her passing has spurred you into having more interactions like this, then what an awesome gift.
When my nan passed I thought about how she took care of herself and had her hair done often. I hadn't been to the hairdressers in years because I felt so awkward and unconfident in talking to people. I pushed myself to go and, while I'm not brimming with confidence, I go in and it's not as scary anymore.
