Sport Training Bar knurl.
Itīs very very similar in feel to the knurl of the new Training Bar which I just had delivered. I wondered how the knurl would differ, it is just slightly sharper on the Training Bar compared to the Sport Training Bar. There is very little between the 2 bars in any respect.▪██─────██▪ Ivanko Barbell Crew #75 ▪██─────██▪

Some nice items already in this thread. Always nice to see bumpers and the WL bar!
I'm considering doing chrome Eleiko change plates at some point or just sticking with the new Rogue ones. I really like the look for them.âŠâââââââ⊠Rogue Barbell Crew #27 âŠââââââââŠ

Thatīs great - Iīd love to pick up an older Eleiko bar like that, also some of the older style bumpers. Nice setup you have.
That other bar you have in the first set of photos looks interesting, the one behind the Pallini plate - It looks like one of the Russian type ribbed bars, have you posted information about it anywhere? I see another one too on the below photos - You have some classic equipment!

Thanks C123C - I hope the thread getīs some traction. I have a feeling thereīs a lot of Eleiko out there which we all want to see :-) Especially some of the older stuff.
I really like the chrome change plates - I had Ivanko and Eleiko change plates and the Eleiko chrome style were definitely my favourite, they had the best finish of all.
I must admit, Iīd like to see some of the Rogue Friction Grip to compare to the ones I have - the new line of Rogue Competition plates are really nice, they would have been tempting if there were available in Europe.▪██─────██▪ Ivanko Barbell Crew #75 ▪██─────██▪

Nice one MB. Did you refurb that further than removing the black paint?
Agree on the groove for sure. Thatīs one exact reason why I have OM over PL plates (plus I prefer the classic OM etc). Sold all my CBPP and wouldn't replace with anything other than OM (or vintage DD Yorks if I could get them).Last edited by MonkeyT; 10-27-2015 at 04:54 AM.

Nice PL kit.
What Bar is that? The little hole in the shaft has me inquisitive.
I love seeing the plates coming out of the packaging. Nice stash of 25s you have there.
Iīd love some vintage Eleiko too, so hard to find - It seems that is hard to find over there like here, unlike the York/Ivanko vintagers that seem to get their pick of stuff.
Wish list for me is a set of these......

I did repaint and sell the plates. They completed the buyers set and he flipped the entire set for about double the price per pound. These were photos from his auction. I thought you guys might like seeing some of the other plates in the set.

I have the new Rogue comp style bumpers as my main 45/25s (US based lbs user) - very satisfied with them although nothing will offset transatlantic shipping versus Eleiko and others than can be locally sourced. Given your endorsement of the Eleiko chrome change plates it may be hard not to do these now. Appreciate the input.

You have the distinct bonus there in the US too, that you can get the "PL Training Plates" which are chrome right up to and including the 45s, and they have a nice lip for picking them up, unlike the PL Comp Plates - As with many things, strange as it may seem, the chrome PL Training aren't available in the European Eleiko market, sadly for us they are solely for the US Market.
In fact, if I had one complaint to make, it would be just that, I wanted those PL Plates and couldnīt get them and I wanted the suede Eleiko WL belt and couldn't get it (although I have been able to get the suede WL belt by getting a US based Pal to ship it to me, not so difficult with a light weight belt).
Anyone here got live pics of the chromed Training plates in action?▪██─────██▪ Ivanko Barbell Crew #75 ▪██─────██▪

Thanks for the information, I didnīt realise they were in clearance, I just saw them while I was snooping at the US site. They sure are impressive and knowing what the little chrome plates look like in person, the larger ones up-to 45 really must be special. Thanks for your feedback, thatīs sure a heads-up for someone to get their order in if they are wanting to secure some of those.

MonkeyT : thanks you for your advice and bringing the Eleiko subject forward.
That other bar I have behind in the first set of photos is a Russian bar (collars included) I bought 30 years ago. It has been imported from Russia (ex URSS). The information note was in cyrillics :-)
This bar was my first weighlifting bar. I'll post information about it during next winter.
Both of the Eleiko bars are weightlifting training bars : 20 kg, 2200 mm, 50 mm, 28 mm, 10 needle bearings. With some care, these bars can last a whole lifetime.
I've restored the old one with white alcohol vinegar (rust), a plastic brush, wd40 and 3/1 vaseline oil (in the collars).
I clean my bar after every training session with plastic brush, wd40 and a lint-free cloth. Every other month I add a few drop of vaseline oil in the collars. That's all.
I've never used the Eleiko metal bristle brush.
Some say Eleiko quality has deteriorated. I disagree. Their weightlifting bars are still made in Suede (I'm note sure for the XF bars). And these same bars will be used during the next IWF world weightlifting championship in Houston.
ps : the new one and the Eleiko brush
