Labrada Lean Pro 100% Whey - Vanilla Review



First Impressions
I like the fact that this whey comes in a bag rather than a tub. Super easy to open and reseal. Second I will say I am not the biggest vanilla flavor fan, very few would make it on my list of mention-able flavors taste wise. However I chose vanilla over chocolate because, I well, I if you cant pull off at least a halfway decent chocolate your company has no business making consumables. Giving Labrada's vanilla a try is a better test of their product and also is a better flavor as an ingredient.

Flavor - 9/10
I am rating this against the other vanilla whey's I have tried and not against the entire flavor pool. It is a very solid vanilla, as usual with water it leaves something to be desired mixed with water. With milk it is enjoyable but my favorite use for it has been in fruit and yogurt smoothies. I also made a vanilla protein cheesecake with it which turned out really solid.

Mixability 7/10
Clumps easier with some, not much of an issue if using with a blender bottle or in a magic bullet. This doesn't bother me at all just be aware not to throw it in a liquid and not shake right away.

Profile
This is where Lean Pro differs from many other wheys. 25g of protein is pretty standard but I think it usually comes with 120-130 calories. At 150 calories with 3g fat and 5g carbs it has more too it than other wheys. On a strict cut where every calorie counts the extra 20-30 could turn some people off which leads me to my only compaint - The name 'Lean Pro'. Seems better fitted for an isolate at 100-120 cals. Anyway since I a bulking I have no issue fitting this in my macros at the moment and interpret it to mean Labrada's product is not overly refined down to nothing. The amino profile is great and speaks to the quality standards Labrada sets for the product. I have a hard time placing a numeric value on this category because I think it depends on your current goals/diet.

Overall very happy with the product and I would recommend it.
