    Unhappy Cutting = depressed as fuark

    Brahs.

    Im currently in week 3 of keto, eating 2k calories per day down to the wire.

    So far weight loss has been drastic currently at lowest weight in a few years (82kg) down from my peak of 98kg last christmas. Cardio fitness is the best its been in my entire lifetime.

    BUT

    i feel depressed and skinny/weak as fuark. Have started doing a lot of cardio that ive never done before, lots of ab work. Abs are certainly more defined, but i have an overwhelming feeling i was never big enough to cut (90kg 5'10 roughly 13% bf) and my strength has dropped very noticeably, feelsbadman

    What do? I originally planned to cut to sub-10% and then lean bulk (3k calories 40/40/20 ratio) over summer starting in roughly a months time.

    yeah i just started cutting last week. Now that i've stopped creatine and cutting, arms went from filling out sleeves to being noodles.

    i did a keto cycle with weekly refeeds and found it took quite a while to get back into ketosis, thus giving me 4-5 days max at a time to cut. I found it let me get undisciplined, i want to do at least a month in ketosis first before refeeding.

    doesn't seem too extreme. A big part of prolonged dieting is feeling frustrated, but remember as soon as you stop being in a consistent deficit you will start to feel and look much more full again, try stick it out.

    Sometimes a week of normal calorie intake can help get back into the groove again if things get too bad

    Realize that getting smaller, weaker and feeling hunger is a part of cutting and embrace it. You shouldn't feel sad about it, it's just part of the game and it means what you're doing is working. Assuming you're hitting close to sub 10% body fat the strength loss is inevitable

    It all comes back anyway so just stick it out

    never 'bulked' this is my first exercise in proper calorie counting (i have attempted it numerous times and given up/gotten undisciplined). Used some creatine oil to grow to 98kg but i definitely went overboard in food intake and ended up fatter than i would have liked (although strong as fuark, bench roughly 350lb) now fully natty all i wanna do is get cut as i can, then eat at a small deficit to actually grow some muscle.

    Are you taking the piss OP? 90kg at 13% is like 170lbs+ of lean muscle mass, for a 5'10" natty that is huge. Some other wiseass can post Kouri's chart for natty limits but I'm sure you'll be somewhere near the limit. So either e-statting, juicing or seriously fuked in the head for thinking you were never "big enough to cut in the first place".

    A buddy of mine tried keto too and he was down as well, he kept it up for three weeks but never got out of the blues until he ate normally again.

    Carbs meh.. more concerned with my poverty calories keeping me( larger servings in general ) from duck fat fried potato, duck confit and 3" thick 18 ounce steak O.O
