When I was younger and didn't know what I was doing I benched heavy like...all the time, and I quickly developed a minor tear. I never really learned my lesson and kept benching heavy too often and eventually tore the muscle pretty bad. I almost wish I had torn the tendon instead; it seems easier to come back from.

Anyone screw around with log press in their training just for some variety, for those who have access to one?
I'm considering buying one from a buddy who would make it himself. Just curious.B. Kinesiology

my guns to wrist size ratio is all out of whack. my guns tell me I can curl every plate in the gym and my wrists say nahhh after like 95 pounds
tiny wrist problems. At least they don't hurt when I bench....so long as I put on wraps after like 200 poundsLog -> http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=153108621

My current cycle ends in a few weeks and I want to test my squat max both raw and wrapped, what would be the best way to do this? Test it raw then throw on the wraps and see how much higher I can go or do it in different sessions? Still new to wraps.

Anyone ever try something like Coan's LP for bench? How did it work out for you?
I got a good routine lined up for when I'm healthy but right now I'm too bugged up to bench heavy often.

Wraps have become a must for me with curls. Cannot dream of, say, barbell curls without them. I pretty much leave my wraps on for most of my workouts these days. They prevent pain in all upper back **** as well. My arms used to fall apart during pull/chin ups but now I do them pain free. Would recommend using them outside the heavy powerlifts.

Immediately after dropping $300+ on a bar I'm looking for next upgrade.
Think I'll add a new bar. Just to have a "beater bar" for band work and all.
Or a deadlift bar......
But deadlift bars look kinda pointless.
Thoughts?

If you tested it raw and went near 100% I think you'd fatigue yourself enough so that you wouldn't really get a clear picture of where you're at with wraps on. Since you're new to wraps, I'd just test it raw with wraps and assume you'd get 30-40lbs out of your wraps. The learning curve of wraps isn't near the curve of gear, but enough to where someone who doesn't have very much experience in them won't get a whole lot out of them.
You could work up to a heavy double or triple without wraps and then do it again with wraps on. Either way, I think you'll still be fatigued from your sans wraps set.1708 total @220 Raw

A buddy of mine who's strong as **** swears by it as a staple press assistance. Specifically reverse band incline press from rack. I added them in over the last few weeks and definitely feel lower rpe/stronger lock on heavy bench sets but I'm not really moving any impressive weight. I do like the shoulder saving element of the neutral grip though.

Didn't look like at my USAPL meet it was a deadlift. Felt really stiff till 545.
Jesup might be a good option. Save my OHP. I know lifetime warranty.....but still.....don't wanna use it with bands and I have no issues dropping a deadlift if it feels off.
Didn't feel like we used one.
Hmmmmmmm
Edit: sorry. Not calling you out. Frustrated that it's different in different places.Last edited by JRMoore82; 12-10-2015 at 09:59 AM.
