I need to get some probiotics how you finding them??
picked up 3 lemon quest bars today, I am kinda over Quest now LOL but if anything enjoy the mint ones the most, maybe less sickly sweet? The lemon ones are sweet but i'll use em post workout to take my supplements as I need something in my stomach to take the pills (also on antibiotics too)
Nothing wrong with buying new things for a positive purpose, like running or gym.. I spend quality (wasted) time on ebay buying and bidding on bike things :P
How are you eating those meals? Is it more just after you get home or do you pack it and take it on your way to school/work?

I was so hopeful when I started this log this time, but now...not so much. I just don't know if this is what I 'should' be doing or if it's not helping me. I don't know. Last night (after an argument) I went for a walk to cry things out but came home and binged anyway on two tortillas, peanut butter, and a mugcake. Then passed out. I'd say intake total was around 2,300 vs my usual 20k but to be fair i didn't have much food left to binge on anyway and it was late night around 9pm.
But this morning my mood is much better. I'm trying to figure out why. I keep thinking my mood causes my binges but maybe it's the other way around or they're just connected. Not sure. Maybe I need to increase my carbs or up my fats, but I don't think this cycling thing will work because it's so complicated id rather have the same cals and macros everyday.
But anyway, just my thoughts. I didn't even want to admit I binged but if I didn't, no point to 'logging' anyway. My mood just goes up and down so much lately I feel that I have never been in such a horrible place before in my life. Can it even get worse than this.
Hi Matt, the probiotics...I havent taken them consistently long enough to know the difference (in binge days I don't take vitamins at all lol, I just don't care) but I've read good things about them. I take the nature made one (comes in a green bottle). Also I figure if the fiber from the bars is ever a problem, the probiotics will help.
Nothing wrong with spending on something you like!
The lemon flavor wasn't as bad as people were describing it but I probably wouldn't go for that flavor unless it was the only left and I couldn't buy any other flavors lol. At the moment I'm liking cookies n cream and raspberry. S'mores seems to be on the sweeter side like lemon. That's a good idea to use them for medicine though, very convenient.
I've been eating a bar super early in the morning when I can't sleep, yogurt before I workout, and then the meals after I workout. it takes 5-10 min to cook the chicken and diced veggies, not too bad. Less boring than meal prep I guess.
Thanks for the support I hope I can make it this time.Protein Bar Review thread:

Also, I know day 1 it says 159 lbs but yesterday (day 2) the scale said 153lbs. I don't know what my true weight is because it goes up and down so much (not that it matters)
Really need to figure out a routine again because I can't seem to eat and work out like a normal person, and this uncertainty driving me insane right now.Protein Bar Review thread:

OK thanks for the words on the Probiotic, I'll def look into it, Yep Quest bars, hmmm I got 4 lemon ones for like $2.50 some sale on at local vitamin store, they do the trick post workout.
On the weight, simply dont weigh yourself going forward, just use the mirror and take like photos each fortnight or something?
On the binge front, it seems that the stress caused it, but hey you stopped and it wasn't so bad (well you went to sleep) just keep going hey, we are all here for you, its going to take sometime, but I suggest keeping the workouts real simple, diet just keep protein high for now and try relax
Matt- If you can't explain it simply, then you don't understand it well enough.

Do not cycle your calories/carbs because that will make you more likely to binge. Just eat the same everyday and incorporate the foods you like (this is key). Also don't make the deficit too big either. Cut slower. Sure it takes more time but this is a marathon not a sprint. Focus on enjoying the journey and progress.
A few things that have helped me minimize binges are keeping busy (Watching tv,reading, hanging out with friends, etc) and trying to find other ways manage stress/emotions instead of turning too food to solve my problems.
Every time you are going to or have an urge to binge think of the people who starve daily because they do not have access to food. Also realize food is just fuel. Hope that helps

Gigi you need to breathe. It was not a bad binge, but I know that feeling after a bout of stress/anxiety eating. The thing is behavior like this doesn't get get better overnight, it is a terribly long process of starting over and over again. Do not give up.
If calorie cycling isn't your thing do not do it. But please don't go back to those sub 1000 calorie days. That does you more harm then you realize.
We all here wish you the best and want to see you beat this beast of a problem into submission. I can be done.*Trying to stay sane and get back to avi status.

Thank you I've realized carb cycling just isn't for me. I've tried it a couple times before, figured I could try it again but I don't think right now is the time. Maybe once I'm able to stop the bingeing for a bit I could try it again, but definitely not now. I try to keep myself busy as much as I can, especially with school work, maybe I need to find more things to do when I'm not studying like group workout classes or spend more time at the beach.
Thanks Matt I figured the weight wasn't really my "true" weight, my weight goes up and down 15+ lbs depending on 2-3 days of bingeing with some actual gain, some food weight, and lots of water weight. I can easily lose 20+ lbs of "water weight" in 4-5 days, so I've learned to not care much about the scale now. Sucks being stuck in the 140-150s again :/
Thanks Phoenix Yesterday I found myself asking "does anyone ever actually "recover" from binge eating?" I've seen people decrease how often they do it, but still...its always on the back of their mind. I really want to stop it more than anything though, will always keep trying. It's the only thing holding me back, but of course..I'm letting it. This is in my control, I know I can stop doing this.
Thanks Todd It was a weird couple days, I'm better now. I found myself getting back in to the "I'll be fat forever" mindset but then I remembered something you mentioned that stuck with me. Everyone starts somewhere. There are a lot of people at the gym who look AMAZING, but most they didn't always look like that. Nobody is born able to deadlift x lbs carrying around x lbs muscle at x% bf. It's this initial start I must get over, once I see results again...I know it'll get better,
Thanks again for the support

I think the binges are more just a coping mech to whatever underlying issue is at hand, we all have something that bugs us, and how we cope with that crap be it with food, drugs, gambling et.. etc.. we all go through the same process on how we respond, we just have different avenue to find that comfort. I'd suggest maybe not looking up to recover from binges, but more to how to control or mellow out that underlying issue.
What is it that you feel before the binge? long days at work, long study, tired, workout not going to plan, etc etc
My PM is always open and we talk quite a lot over it, but maybe we can start to offload some of the crap life throws at us, it may help. Hey when I am in the states you can use me a punching bag LOL
Keep going though!!- If you can't explain it simply, then you don't understand it well enough.
