My 2, 1990's Japanese Cars. Both 5 speed
My 1991 Honda Civic DX, threw 178k on it before the gas line rotted out. My first car, bought it new. $10,875
I upgraded to a 1999 Accord LX. $16500, put 125k on it before buying something else. My only complaints about this car were the cheap paint job and the chit hubcaps. Was fun to drive

miss my 1994 VR4 like none other. Still don't know why I sold it. I bought a GS430 from a friend and needed the cash a little. back then I was living in an apartment and had 3 cars, VR4, GS430 and a daily beater Kia Sephia that I got for $500.
the VR4 was a PITA when I got it because previous owners beat it to hell and back so I was constantly fixing it. but I had a low mileage Japanese engine and turbos out of a front clip I got from a local importer and aside from some wiring/electrical issues it was perfect.
Dat *PISSHT* when you shifted. Dat AWD. Dat removable glass roof was GOAT in the right weather.... ok now I'm sad.

I was the opposite. Grew up only liking and owning japanese cars. I had an FD3S which i posted in this thread. Great car. Had a turbo EM1 civic and a bunch of other japanese "tuner" cars.
But then i went into the darkside, the v8 side. Never went back.
I would like to do an LS swapped S2K though. I still like those cars, the powerplant just sucks.

owned a 1990 300zx 2+2 NA converted to TT.
put 12k on it from the age of 17-20.
bought it with my own money that I saved from the age of 14 for 5k.
babied the hell out of it. never drove it on bad weather. washed it all the time.
and then one xmas eve I decided to drive it to the mall to buy a last minute present for a gf at the time.
I got rammed by a Toyota sequoia leaving the mall by a 17 year old teen driver who had borrowed his moms truck to do the same thing I was doing.
he didn't see me stop at the stop sign. my car was lowered so he drove that thing all the way to the back seats of my car.
total loss. insurance gave me 6k for it cuz they don't care about mods.
after that I swore to never mod cars. once you start putting a lot of money into cars, it makes you not want to drive it the way they are supposed to.
I had full on SPL track adjustable suspension on the car yet I never drove it hard cuz I didn want anything to happen to it cuz I had too much money put into it.
after my Z I got into a e46 M3 and never looked back. hell of a car out of the box and never felt the need to mod it.
perfect the way it was and drove it hard without a car in the world.

targa top, straight body, its got a new 2jz in it with upgraded twins, chassis has about 100k miles,
I bought it off the second owner who did not want to sell it at all, he owned it for 15 years. But tbh didn't take care of it at all, like just basic maintenance **** and small things that irk me cause i want everything to be perfect, it'll still need some decent coin before its up to my standards but ill be taking my time with it
Me and my brothers going to be doing all the work ourselves, I don't trust most performance shops. I saw the invoices and the amount shops were charging the owner and I felt so bad, they were royally ass ****ing him. On top of that weren't making the power he could have and kept telling him he needed more parts.
