I'm an eternal optimist but i've been very frustrated at the Chiefs' unwillingness to throw the ball past the line of scrimmage. i tried to blame the lack of wide receiver, the poor o-line, whatever, but more and more i'm convinced that Alex Smith is unwilling or unable to do it AND i'm getting more and more pissed at Andy Reid for not doing something about it.

at least Peters had another INT; kid looks legit, but doesn't have a chance at Def Rookie of the Year because we're hanging our defense out to dry.

it's both, but ultimately it's Smith who needs to throw the ball down field.

the stupid thing is that lateral passes aren't the way to beat a quick rush, it's the quick in's and outs, the crossing routes that hurt the blitz.

I wasn't worried in the least.

I do find that the Jets typically start slower under Todd Bowles than under the previous regime, but are better at making in-game adjustments. If they can keep it close at halftime, I'm usually comfortable with that.

If they fall behind the Pats early next week I don't like their chances. Fitzpatrick is not the kind of QB you want to have in the game when your team is behind. He's not great at pushing the ball down the field.

Show of hands, who saw the Jets at 4-1 and playing the Pats in week 7 for 1st place? (not me)

i know that Bellichick is the best coach in the game, and i'm always jealous of how well he can make adjustments and outcoach the other team, but man leaving the best player on the field uncovered is ridiculous.

also i have brady on my fantasy team, and chuckled to see he lead the team in rushing.

Bellichick manages to win by doing the unexpected. other coaches try but usually fail and look awful in the process.

undefeated season: go to Indy (top ranked offense) shut them down. go to Baltimore (top ranked defense) blow them out of the water.

against the stout run defense: abandon the run (other teams would be criticized night and day) and just throw.

against a couple glorious corners: manage to get your best weapons into the end zone untouched...

hell he lost his hall of fame quarterback and won 10 games with Matt Cassel!

btw: i think that was a direct revenge move against the Chiefs. Bernard Pollard begins his run of crushing Patriot's players by knocking out the big boss, but then Bellichick get's enough wins with Cassel and sends Pioli (who's awful) and cassel (who sucks) to the chiefs, screwing us for years. meanwhile he wins 10 games....
